No polls this time, just speaking your minds here. As much as i hate to admit it, the poll i made was pretty unfair, i should have been more descriptive instead of making a poll when i was pissed off.

Here is the problem I see. This is both porn, and a game (obviously). Ebonizza made a thread similar to this in the developers area a while back, and I think it's good to ask this question to the general public now as well. Copy and paste form Ebonizz'a original thread:

What each post should include:

Genre: What type of game do you specifically want to see? Action, Adventure, RPG, Shooter, Puzzle, or the original? There are a bunch of other genres that are left out here, but what do you want to see? What type of mechanics should be incorporated into the game? Do you want to blend some together, and most importantly why?

Story: Now after skimming this thread I'm pretty sure everything is agreed upon already. Still, what are your personal thoughts on it? Should it be simplified? Should it be more dramatic? Should it be left alone?

Characters: How many will be in the initial release? Are you dissatisfied with any of the characters? Is a character that you'd like to see missing? How important are some characters compared to others? Should we follow the basic design for these characters that nintendo made? Should there be multiple costume designs for a few characters?

Locations: What are the definite locations? Just how should they look? How large should each area be, as in how many screens should there be to an area? How many enemies should there be to an area? A set amount for each one, or a different amount for each one? Does everyone need a boss? Does the boss have to be a massive enemy? Can the boss be a group of average enemies? (This could also be considered in characters, and sex scenes.)

Sex Scenes: What do you want to see more, or less of? Is there a lack of dp? Should there be more group action overall? Vaginal penetration? Teasing? Should the scenes be more primal? More furious? Should there choices for how scenes can be done? Should their be replay value to some of them? Should every scene be done in the original respect they're done? Always a side-scrolling view, or should there be scenes that fade in to views of penetrations? Can the lightest amount of fetish be bought into this release, at all?

Overall Goal: When you think about this game what exactly do you see it being like when it's finished? Will you be happy with it? Do you think something is missing? What should be worked on most before everything is finished? What are the three most important components to the game, in your opinion?


I'm adding one more question to this, level of challenge: This may be a porn game, but it's still a game, what do you want in terms of a challenge? Does it come from picking the right sex scenes? Does it come from puzzle solving. Do you want the sex scenes to be an easy fap, or do you want them to be on the level of say combat in a normal game, something you have to pay attention to.

It's only fair i get us started.
Genre: My stance on this has been bouncing back and forth. I'd like to go with some RPG/action stuff with puzzle solving thrown in. Go with the style thaedeal (sorry if I messed up your name) suggested.

Story: I've pretty much covered this before, it'll be like playshapes but aside form finding fox and escaping, krystal will also have to do something about the increased lustfullness of everyone. (just fucking them over and over isn't the solution either she's gotta find the source causing it).

Characters: for now we don't really have any new characters, most of this is rehashing what was done first, but making them look better if we can. We can't deny as sexy as playshapes krystal is, she has problems. and the lizard men and fox....ugh, those are being scrapped and redone totally. Also i'm removing the mermaid/zora girls for now, they'll be in the game later, but they're a bit out of place where they are.

locations: Ok this is how i have it in my head right now. Saura will be like the hub world. It's where you come back to everytime, where you get most your missions, etc. at different parts of sauria there will be portals that lead to other nintendo worlds like hyrule or the mushroom kingdom. each seperate world i want to be very sizable as well, like as big as at least the sharpclaw village and the cave put together. As we get into developing those worlds we'll see how big they end up. I want us to cover, saruia, hyrule, mushroom kingdom, and zebes for sure, we'll probably have a few other worlds as well but hell if i know what they are by this point.

sex scenes: everything that's already in the game and most importatly actual vaginal sex. krystal and the other girls WILL get fucked properly in this game. throw in DPs and stuff like that as well, really if you can name the position, it'll probably get used.

overall goal: to release something. *rimshot* Seriously I want us to get a workable system built, rework parts of the story, and continue with our own version based on what playshapes left us with. Touch up characters or redraw them all together, and find out what you all want to see the most.

Challenge: I want this game to be easier than Mario is missing, but more challenging than it currently is. This should avoid the trend of 'run or rape' games at all cost, and only playing it stupidly should give you any trouble.

Genre: I wanna see an RPG with a few puzzle elements, maybe a shooter part in the arwing, but mostly sex. It is the point of the LOK game, to go too far from it would make it something else

Story: Pretty sure you guys got that

Characters: Doesn't matter how many in the initial release, just give us a little variety

Locations: I like the scaleclaw village, but i would also like to see a more furry planet. I love scales, but we need some hot furr!

Sex Scenes: give us a variety. I love walking up to one and seeing "make out" and walking up to another to see "ass rape" it shows that krystal can enjoy herself and be subject to random buttsex

Overall Goal: to make a finished and better looking LOK V2

Challenge: Mario is missing was hard! i didnt make it to morton until a good 10 tries later! But i also feel that LOK V2 was a little too easy and too hard at the same time. Too much grinding, the cheat button was a godsend

Genre- RPG, or something thats like the original except finished and better
Characters-Variety also it would be nice to have a button that would change boob size from medium, large, and humonges
Story-i like the sex slave one or the one i think you made
locations-what lord panzi said scales and fur!

overall goal- to make the best hentai game ever!
Challenge-in lok2 you had to have a lot of repetative sex to get experiance, which is bad, it would be alrigt if you made it so where you had to do new scenes each time, but thats a lot of work, aslo it would be best just to have a puzzle like you have to have sex with this person to unlock something. but most of all i think it should definitally have a large amount of free roam(random sex) too.

Genre: Personally I would want to see a combat / rpg oriented would be great. The Legend of Krystal : The Sword or w/e was a great example of what I would want to see. Her fighting her way through sharpclaws, but not to kill them, just to make them ejaculate and fall asleep. Idk thats just me. If the game itself is rpg oriented thats fine.

Story: I dont know if I speak on behalf the forum, but I dont really pay attention to the story line much. I just click and click until krystal gets pounded.

Characters: I have no idea how many characters are in the official release, but I would like to see Blaziken in it at least in a few hot scenes. Maybe a couple more costumes for blaziken and krystal. Maybe some lizgirl action :D

Locations: Lets see, I would say each background location should be about 2-3 slides long. You dont want to be walking in the same place over and over again. Yes I would say everyone needs a boss. I loved the Fox Link and General Scales scenes because they were boss scenes, and they had huge cocks no homo. Then again I wouldnt mind seeing a gangbang scene between 4 or 5 sharpclaws and just one krystal as a boss scene.

Sex Scenes: We need more DP, thats for sure. There should be scenes where the sharpclaw is gentle with krystal, and other scenes where he is rough with krystal. The more variety the better...And yes we need more group scenes. I would prefer always side-scrolling view because other views might look really weird. I would say some fetish should be brought into release, but some of the most popular ones, nothing like pissing on krystal after they're done wtf is that. Thats something you should keep out.

Overall Goal: Number one would have to be the mechanics of the sex scenes themselves. Nothing like krystals foot randomly goes through a sharpclaws legs or something. I would have to say the sex is the 2nd most important, meaning the quality of the scenes, also meaning how good the characters actually look like.. The third would be the backgrounds, how good they were worked on because no one wants to see krystal having sex in a barn that looks like trash.

I'm adding one more question to this, level of challenge: I say it has to be challenging enough for us to mess up a few times and restart the game over (unless you will have like a "back" button) and probably choosing the right sex positions would be good. Maybe have a puzzle here and there but not too many. This must be easy to fap too. I dont want to feel like im playing Dead or Alive here.

I have been pretty vocal in the last few days on the merits of ideas people have proposed and defended. I have also contributed ideas and concepts to many side projects on and off the forums, as well as acting as a sounding board. Ultimately however I will admit once again as my usual disclaimer: I have a basic grasp of programming, can do vector art work somewhat well, and have done creative writing and mechanics design, however that being said I am not infallible and I am not capable of knowing directly what a person is capable of doing, and the logistics that go behind them. That is to say, I have ideas, but I don't know what a person can do without directly communicating with them, communication being the key.

I was originally not even drawn in by Krystal, and to this day while I don't hate her I don't particularly feel attached to her side of the story. I was drawn in to the side projects, especially a legend of peach one (go find my first posts under my profile). With that in mind this would be the kind of game I would have in mind if the logistics and talent were there.

Legend of Krystal Design Document


[Objective]:
-To deliver an adult genre game to the public, based on prior works by Playshapes, starring the main character Krystal from the Star Fox Franchise. The goal would be to make a semi non-linear game with an overarching win condition through which all the different scenes work together to achieve. The key to delivering a satisfying, filling game is through innovative game mechanics, top end aesthetics and driving plot.

[Genre]:
-The nature of the genre to go with, is the nature of the people that would play it. The average age of the people on the forums are about ~+/-19.4 years old based on a random sampling of ages on a LoK thread on undisclosed forums (lowest being 16 (shame on you) to oldest being about 40 (yay for still geting it up). Most also complained about the difficulty level of Mario is Missing. The most universally enabling/accessible genre would be a simple point and click game, using simple mechanics that have been used throughout old style RPG's such as item collecting and simple puzzle solving. However the puzzles should be intuitive, fun, and non-repetitive, each one providing their own challenges.

-However as an advanced/alternative idea, incorporating an overarching mechanic that dictates how you go about puzzle solving in the form of actions per day (or as an extension to a side topic introduced by trunks: per planet), you could have another level of puzzle. I personally like Renera's idea the most but everyone is set against it, managing your stamina as a form of puzzle solving which could enable different options and even further puzzles. For those that complain, after beating it once you could get a infinite stamina cheat or a gallery mode. Whichever of the alternate ideas is chosen, it would have to be an intuitive system to keep many of the people with less cognitive/attention span/micro managing/etc. engaged.

[Mechanics]

-The biggest complaint across multiple threads and forums has to deal with the two handed nature of the game. With having to hold buttons left or right with one hand, and the mouse to engage on the other hand. The most intuitive use would be for the character to move where clicked to, and to streamline it more it would also move her naturally to a character when engaging a character.

To illustrate this we have a basic scenario:
There is a room with krystal in it, and an interactive NPC in the room. Krystal would not only be able to walk around the room by clicking, but would automatically move to engage the NPC if she was clicked upon.

-An extension to this mechanic would be that if you did go for item collecting or puzzle solving that involve a inventory, you could click on krystal. This could enter her inventory screen, and have the options to interactive with items inside it. There is also a side project which i will go find and link to as a reference (its on this forum, I need to go look at the creative corner depositorium when the thumbnails are no longer showing bandwidth overuse) where you could change the different costumes on krystal and the color of her fur.

-Grabbing even more mechanics from the same example of above, when you go outside of an area, there can be an overall map of the area (and in trunks plot the planet, and the system they are in) with the yellow blips upon which you can click to change locations. This could be further built up by having different colored blips for different intuitive information using a legend, or in a more streamlined simplistic method a single blinking blip for the next region you go to.

-As stated many times the mechanic of Stamina can be included. However since not many people actually read all my posts or aren't current on what happens in each of threads I will re-iterate it:
Essentially Renara wanted a stamina system.
Trunks wanted a puzzle system.
A compromise between the two lead me to a concept/mechanic in which your stamina is the puzzle to a degree. It takes stamina to engage in sex, the more complicated the sex the more stamina required (before you have to go refill it by meeting conditions or using a playshapes mechanic of bathing to gain more exp when clean but in reverse). This could be done to incorporate story elements and scenes by having to gauge how much sex is needed to satisfy the situation, which could unlock further content.

[Story:]

I only ever played the original star fox, and star fox 64. The rest are new to me and as such I don't know much about Krystal, about any of the plots or interactions there in. As such I don't find myself being comfortable putting plot ideas out there, especially because some fans can be VERY selective

-I like the intro since it is what makes he vulnerable. I am not into rape or any of that stuff, but this vulnerability is what could lead her to MAKE the choice of doing the acts to get where she needs. The attitude thread (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=909) can tie in with the morality thread, which could in turn further tie in with the stamina concept, however this synthesizing can be done later as the ideas get hammered out.

-That being said I rather be general here allowing people with more background knowledge to build up a plot but I will be mostly focusing on what Trunk has pitched.

Not to get patronizing but let us return to the basic format of a story:

SETTING -- Trunks idea calls for multiple planets that you travel between. I like the idea but I rather just focus on one planet and her struggle to get off of it. As such the setting would be the planet upon which the plot takes place, and the time frame in which it took place.
    a)  place - Jungle/Sub-saharan (Ron Pepper's work sets the stage here)
    b)  time - If you go with an actions per day kind of method you get a couple days time frame. Calling it a week or two works.
    c)  weather conditions - Dependent on the places, but this could affect plots?
    d)  social conditions - What is the daily life of the characters like? Does the story contain local colour (writing that focuses on the speech, dress, mannerisms, customs, etc. of a particular place)? [I don't know the sharp claw but this is where Trunks' planet wide changing phenomenon can be explored, by showing how they are at first and devolving over time.]
    e)  mood or atmosphere - The beginning is frightening, a traumatic crash and sexual slavery. This could change to be less scary (slut alignment) or continue to darken (virgin alignment) which ties in with mood. The other components of setting can change to reflect this).

PLOT -- There are five essential parts of plot:
   a)  Introduction - Krystal's Arwing crashes leading to the following events.
   b)  Rising Action - This is where trunks can spring his concept of the planet wide changing phenomena
   c)  Climax - Can be argued whether krystal will turn more willing or continue her path of resistance.
   d)  Falling action - The actions chosen would then begin to shape the end of the game (will she go on and be free [virgin ending] or will she fall into this lifestyle [slutty ending]
   e)  Denouement - These are you endings here.

It is helpful to consider climax as a three-fold phenomenon:  1)  the main character receives new information  2)  accepts this information (realizes it but does not necessarily agree with it) 3)  acts on this information (makes a choice that will determine whether or not he/she gains his objective).


[Character]

The only one I was suprised not to see was the pink girl from the sewage planet on the leftern most path (the one I ALWAYS took) in star fox 64. As for the rest of the characters I don't really care but would like to see more aesthetic variations to the lizard girl model (I really like the seductress). However focusing on base models first, and essential models needs to come first, since the animations can later be updated on these models by just changing the outfits. Either way Katsu has the right creative mind and talent for this.

[Locations]

I pretty much covered this in the code section of plot, long story short I don't really care as long as it makes sense to the plot, and the artwork is ron pepper's quality.

[Sex Scenes]

All the varieties we have now are good. To get more viewable vaginal penetration involves having to rework models which is a whole lot of work and as such I am fine with the ones we have now. Just try to make it look properly articulated and I won't care. Using a stamina system would make them replayable as there are going to be times you want to compromise but that is for a more complex game to keep it simple just being able to chose different branches but having the same general theme per npc should be enough.

[Objectives]

I had made my objectives at the top of the list since I didn't notice you added them to the list until now but essentially it can be summed up by a few main points:
---> Intuitive and Accessible: Make the game easy for anyone to grasp, and the methods used playing it second nature. Difficulty can be as hard as you want but as long as it is easy to understand how you go about doing things.
---> High quality: Good writing, good concepts, Katsu's artwork, Ron's backgrounds. It makes a more polished product which in turn makes it more immersive.
---> Immersion: Make it draw you in through plot and mechanics. However in dialogue I want to point out one thing I hate, and it is dirty talk like the kinds that can be found in Blaaarghs edit of mario is missing. Not picking on him, some people like that but try to keep that in the "slutty" attitude of things, I want the other sides to be more... credible?
--->Scenes: It is a sex game, people will be coming to it to get off on it. I want them to be easy to understand but have little subteties that can be more challenging fun for those that don't just want to fap. That isn't to say make it hard but make it so there are options there (such as a stamina system etc). The scenes should be easy enough to get to, but once engaged give people the time they need to finish doing what they came here to do (no pun intended).

Long post, I gave it a couple of proof reads to catch most of the typos and formatting issues. Hopefully it is readable, accessible enough, and places proper emphasis on what I want to get across.

Very long and well thought out post, the only thing i want to correct you on is I wanted the stamina system at as well, and i still would like it, Ebonizza wasn't in favor of it, and a few others said they weren't as well so i worked out an alternative with the ability system. But after seeing some of the responses here.....I dunno what to think anymore, I'm getting a lot of mixed messages about that. As for HOW the stamina system would be used, and to a further point, how leveling up would be handled, that's where me and ren weren't on the same page.

Anyways the results of this thread are proving interesting. Some of this stuff we're already doing and thinking about, some stuff are fresh new ideas and a new look on things.

Thael, well done. You covered about everything. I think between you and Trunks I have a lot of specific things to say. Not to diminish what the others have said, for instance, I think we should hope to find Krystal involved in a variety of sexual acts -- From ones that she might find appealing to ones that that are fairly involuntary (such as random buttsex). She simply submits to these more forceful acts with the hope that it helps her along the path to her goal. This is how I interpreted what Thaeldael meant by saying, "this vulnerability is what could lead her to MAKE the choice of doing the acts to get where she needs." Maybe I am reading into it wrong, but my meaning is at least clear.

That said, let's look at some of the issues that drew my attention, because if I talk about stuff I don't care about I'm going to bore you.

Number one, we talk about RPG and we talk about puzzles and it's all very vague. I'm thinking of a dynamic in which an encounter can only be triggered if Krystal is wearing the right type of outfit, and unlike the RPG version in which Krystal starts out with eight different outfits and so on, in this version she would only start out with maybe three outfits, but will purchase more at a vendor. A clue as to what the appropriate outfit is would be, well, apparent in the type of tribesman (or woman) Krystal is trying to seduce.

Now, the game is framed around the mystery of the increased libido of these characters so it doesn't make any sense for Krystal to have any trouble seducing any of these key characters. Well, she may be able to have sex with them, but the different outfit could lead to a different position, a threesome, a more vigorous fucking, or cause the lizardman to stop having sex with one of the lizardgirls, in order to properly take advantage of Krystal. So there's a variety of ways for Krystal to interact.

Number two, I recommend we reinstate the map menu type of interface as Thaeldael mentioned. This may require some heavy skills on the part of the programmer, given how buggy the one that's out there was. Whatever. It was great to have, less trudging back and forth across screens.

Number three, portals vs. being trapped (the short version): These ideas were suggested separately, and I think that they cannot work together. The idea of having portals that lead to all these worlds and back kind of makes it difficult to imagine that Krystal could really be trapped on Sauria. So either we go with one idea or the other. I suggest she is trapped, and only goes to visit some of the neighboring regions near the Sharpclaw Village.

Number three, portals vs. being trapped (the long version): Let's recap the basic thrust of situation as the game unfolds. Krystal is voluntarily revisiting Sauria, for whatever personal reasons, maybe she forgot her panties somewhere, or Fox was trying to rid her of some excess dignity. Either way, she returns and finds the place a little more feisty than usual, libidos high, and she helps Gen. Scales by trying to sleuth out the source of it.

Alright so that's the base plot. Where is the source? It could be a source in the neighboring Dark Woods. It could be somewhere else entirely. And while the plot element of being trapped on the planet once more could easily be inserted, it is possible that these portals all exist, perhaps because a sorceress (Zelda?) aids Krystal in embarking on these journeys and then when she completes the quest, shows up with the portal that takes her back to Sauria of all places.

Me personally, I could care less about Krystal fucking a bunch of Goombas or Metroids. I don't know why, but I just think we should leave that up to the Princess and Samus, respectively. It also asks for a large number of new backgrounds to be made, holy cow. A lot. Between the Dark Woods and Sharpclaw village, I got my hands full, for now.

Furthermore if she is not trapped on the planet, she needs to have a strong motivation to venture into all these strange worlds. Doing Scales a favor is a maybe. Going on multiple quests for the dude just out of the kindness of her heart seems implausible. The next closest thing to being trapped on the planet would be for Fox or someone to be somehow missing or hostage, and that would provide her drive and motivation for her to go to greater lengths. But it's kinda retarded for her to go around fucking everything in the universe all in order to save her boyfriend. Rather, a direct course of action (go Save Fox) is the only one that makes sense.

If it's a game about fucking, Krystal has to be out on a mission to pretty much do that. Chances are, this could be made more plausible, (returning to the logic that Krystal sometimes does what she does because she is in a vulnerable position,) if she were trapped and completing what at first seems like a small-scale quest to locate fox and fly back up to the Great Fox.

Here's my conclusion regarding point 3: Make her trapped on Sauria, the entire game take place there, have any other characters like Samus and so on appear on Sauria for some reason or another.

i thought that LOK was going to be a puzzel game fromt he start... mayby after a few puzzles and chalengs you unlock new costumes and postions. and after a while you can unlock 3 then 4 ways.

from what i can tell the point of this game is to see Krystal get fucked, finish the game, and save fox. how that is all going to happen..i have no idea but i can wait :)

most of the puzzel games ive played is like you have to collect items to stay alive. if you miss something then once you go too far....your dead. EX: with ditto how he is able to transform to something...if your dont have like a condom then ur pupple or pink.....

from the 2 demos ive played ive liked the game. cant wait to see what is still to come. after playing Star Fox and LOK im getting 2 very different ideas and trying to combine them...apperently its not working too well...

the only question i have..is krystal going to find Fox and excape the planet or stay? (please answer so i know were to go from this!! plus please tell me if your going to go with a jungle them and stick with the LOK design or go into more start fox stuff)

the point of this thread is to be selfish, and we'll gather the most common selfish ideas together to form what we do. As for releasing in episodes, it has merits if we have a way to transfer over your current stats and equipment from one game to the next.

Story:

With Krystals character development from a straight and plain female to a slutty animal who do everything to get something to eat, the taste of the lizard seed or to reach her goal.
An open end story for adding diverent chapters over the time is also an awesome idea.
Uhm... and this whole "sharpclaws-attacking-a-flying-airwing"-stuff is very anoying.

Characters:
Well we have Krystal, Fox.. uhm.. and some nameless lizards. Craft some lizards with personality and name, give a few starfox members an appearance (Should make sense, story technical) and i think it will be fine. Probably its a lot of work but i would like to see a few character customisations with Krystal i.e.: Breastsize. Also like the idea to give us an option to let Krystal masturbate.

And a selfish concern: I'm against this whole Nintendo characters thing (why not save them for a project in the future?). Legend of Krystal should only contain characters form the Starfox franchise.

Locations:
hm.. the background thing... i will wait and see what u guys bring up.
But i prefer a diverent amount of enemies per screen. Bosses would be great, at least one per chapter of the story. Sub-bosses are welcome.
A larger amount of enemies at the same time is also acceptable as a boss.

Sex Scenes:

If you decide to take in many dialogues, i'm in. They can be equally arousing as the scenes itself.

Challenge:
As a gamer till the death i love challanges. Build in some harsh riddles/puzzles for some unique scene or an extra outfit for Krystal.
So you dont have to turn up the overall difficulty but reward the players who want a challange. By the way I also like Eastereggs.

IMO, more oral / lesbian action. Don't really think there was much oral in v0.2, and none in terms of lesbian action.

I personally would not enjoy a stamina bar, as mentioned in other threads it's no fun to get a Game Over just because you felt like getting off. However, if running out of stamina simply makes Krystal lose consciousness and reawaken nearby, with no overly damaging penalty, it wouldn't be too bad I suppose?

Isn't really much else to ask for that I can think of right now, most of what I was thinking has been covered previously, and in a much better way than anything I could've come up with.

Genre: I'm pretty much with trunks on this one. RPG with a bit of puzzle solving. I like the idea of stamina and/or special abilities as the puzzle.

Story: Whatever LoK has.

Characters: It's called "Legend of Krystal." I personally want to see the most of Krystal but I'm not opposed to small cameos.

locations: All the norm meaning the Scaleclaw Village, Cave, Dark Woods, and whatever LoK team already has planned to throw in. Baby steps guys.

sex scenes:
everything that's already in the game and most importatly actual vaginal sex. krystal and the other girls WILL get fucked properly in this game. throw in DPs and stuff like that as well, really if you can name the position, it'll probably get used.
this.

overall goal: A release please! Nothing fancy at this point, I just think we need some progress!

Challenge: Small mind puzzles. I don't want to be staring at this game for an hour trying to figure out how to fuck Scales or how to make Krystal a slut. Don't make it too easy, but by no means make it hard. (that's what she said.)
