I will miss seeing your games, You are a true artist. Hopefully if you decide to pick up a project in the future I can be the sound designer ;)

Enjoy your free time, you deserve it :)

Have a lovely vacation/retirement! I loved Sakyu and Dusty's Castle, and keenly followed your other projects. Thanks again for everything!

Now, as a segue... Seems to me that it's really hard to keep solo projects going... the new Mario is Missing game seems to be making good progress, and I wonder if that's because it's a team effort? Maybe making story and art and programming is a little too much to juggle all at once for most people? Whatever, I've got the flu and keep raving fever-dreams anyway. :P But seriously, maybe it would behoove us to try to match writers who have good ideas for stories with programmers and animators.

Hey Gorepete,

As a casual game player, I really enjoyed the work you put into your games. You're good at it and you bring great ideas to the table when it comes to gaming. Reading previous posts about the fun you've been having with Skyrim, I hope you're not giving up your art to play video games. I did that a lot in my younger years (I'm 31) and I regret not spending more time on my music (musician for 20 years). I'm making up for it now. I played games, I watched a lot of TV, I went to a lot of bars, drank a lot, smoked a lot of pot and yet I have nothing to show for it. I think if you're going to give up making games, direct your skill towards something else you might enjoy. Don't throw it away. From what I see, you're one of the best programmers on this site and well respected.

Sorry to hear you're winding down for now, you produced a load of great games, and really brought a lot of people to these forums!

So, now taking bets on how long until Gorepete gets the creative bug again… ;)

@Gore,

Really sad to see you and your game design leave. You had such a thing for 90s brutal difficulty that we just don't see anymore. That said, I'm with the guy who thinks you should license this stuff under creative commons or some other license of some sort. At least that way nobody can steal it and try to charge for it (or even copyright it themselves).

Also, mind if a shoot you a PM sometime in the future regarding boss design on some of my own non-porn games? You seem to have a knack for it.

This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.

Man, I loved watching your video streams. Do you have any copies of those saved that you could upload?
Also, how about the original Sakyubasu .fla & .swf (with the zerglings)?

I can honestly say that out of all the games on these forums, I liked your animations the most, especially because you bothered to transition the characters between loops instead of flashing forward. Super glad to hear that you are still open to doing animations!

All of the sadness, ALL of it. Oh well.... It would seem that the people in the chat already has uttered most variables of the phrase *sad you're leaving, thanks for all the awesome work ya did* But I will say it just a few more times because I can and because I feel like it.

I created my account, and was brought to these forums thanks to you. Way back then it was this first version of a samus platformer, which caught my interest. Later the original LOK-game gave me a name on where to find this forum. After that I finally found the source of all this awesomeness and I must say; You've done great, I do believe even the best input for this forums' creative corner can be viewed as yours and for that you should feel proud.

Thy legacy shalt be remembered as it hast always been, basking in the light of infinite creativity. Thou shalt be remembered as a hero amongst men and celebrated for the interventions thou committed in the name of LOK. Be thy future commitments successful, and may thy devotion towards thine goal never cease to shine like the mighty steel that thy will is forged of. Fare well, Gorepete, creator of games, and may fortune smile at thy future path in life as thou want it to.

It's horrible to see one of the best creative minds on the forums leave.

Believe it or not, I actually lost the original FLA! No joke :(

Thank you for the kind words, all... it has truly been my pleasure. And like I said, I will still be around on the forums, I just won't be actively working on any projects.

In all seriousness, sad to hear you lost the desire to keep on making games, but I'm glad to hear you'll still be around.
I know it's selfish, but I hope you catch the bug to work on something of your own again, even if it's just quick animations.

Count me among those who were brought here by your work(Sakyubasu part 1). You put out some of the highest quality H-games I've seen. Your games were a big part of what got me interested in learning Flash(which I'm in the process of now, actually). Thanks for sharing the FLA's, too. Much appreciated.
