Not really. You have access to the area pretty quickly but you can't get it when there are enemies present... on the plus side it isn't missable either, until after the Beezy fight anyways.

So when's Renara going to put this in the "Finished projects" thread?
What is a goal but an attempt to gain a purpose? We don't really want the goals and advancements for themselves, we want them because it gives us a reason to act.

Well, I've posted it before my 10th post and it didn't approved:
If I change "interact" key from Space to any other - there is label "Space" under all dialogs still.
When we had "Options" in the main menu and changed keys from there - all was good. But changing this key ingame saves old label.

P.S.: I want to see all phases of shattering bee's armor, but it is so small size and high speed :(
I'm not sure my english is good, I'm russian. So I'll be please if you will correct me ;) Thank you for understanding.

Long time lurker.

Gore, love your game dude, good shit I must say. What I'm pissed about, is that I've used that shit SO MANY TIMES and I was never able to get the sword until this most recent version you loaded...I don't even. Either way, good shit sir.

Attack, attack up in the sky.
For your prize is mighty high.
Only Slam, can your prize reach,
no other force shall this secret breach.
And where tool of war shall shatered lie,
there tool of love thou shall spy.

I've found a bug. After hitting level 9 you can no longer gain any more souls, or maybe I am doing something wrong.

I found out what my problem was with finding the third sword. I was playing on New Grounds. I finally decided maybe that was it so I started playing on the forum and I got it right away where I had tried several times before on my new grounds game. Plus I'd used slam there far before Gore had given that hint looking for it!!!

That's built in. Wouldn't want the game to be too easy. I think you can get to 10 if you play your cards right, but it levels off somewhere around there. So don't worry, you're just going to have to beat those nigh impossible bosses with skill rather than overleveling. I wrote a fairly comprehensive guide a few pages back, so go look for that if you need help.

@Gorepete:

I'm with the guy who says that the thick and thin spikes of the broodmother are too unpredictable. The come at about the same point in the sequence and have the same telegraph. I thought it was a bug at first but the consensus seems to be that it was built-in. You don't have to remove one or the other, but it be nice if they had a different telegraph.

heh funny....
i was playing a downloaded version of the flash in the first post here in the topic and slam doesnt actually work there...
so i randomly tried the newgrounds link and there it worked instantly to get the sword.
well good that the "sword problem/bug" is taken care of now :D

The thin spikes are kind of a flawed design I never polished up / fully explained. They are supposed to be an instant kill so people can't just abuse standing in front of her, ignoring the eggs. Basically, what is going on is that when you aren't under the eggs a timer starts ticking up behind the scenes, when you stand under the eggs it ticks back down. If it hits its limit (IE you just stand directly in front of her for too long), the thin spikes trigger killing anyone who isn't under an egg. There was going to be a kind of "rage meter" for the clock that would be over her head so you could monitor it; but I eventually just tuned down the spikes so they would be a near-instant kill instead and never put in the meter.

It was sloppy on my end, I might go back and clean it up at some point.

Well you were here for most of the development... I said lots of times that this was a first attempt at a game like this so there would be a lot of "lessons learned" (and there were!). I know it is far from perfect and a lot of aspects of the game need work, most of the time because I simply didn't know any better at the time and was guessing how to make a mechanic do what I wanted lol. There is definitely a lot of room for improvement (starting with the way recoil works lol)

Hello people, pardon my english is a bit bad, but I could well understand the game I had a question as yet, there is a full version somewhere or does it only when I ACT? . The game is really good I would be delighted to stop more ... I know I should read the other posts, but with so many pages it takes longer than intended simply to ask once hoped to answer

With best regards

Just finished this part. Absolutely amazing job mate! The characters and the scenes are awesome and I certainly don't think the difficulty is a bad thing.
Can't wait for more parts!
