Login issues

Some things about the system I find out of sync. Click "post reply" when not logged in, enter information, redirects to board index. After posting a reply to a thread, I've either been redirected to board index or first page of the thread I post to. Having more than one tab open, logging into forum on one then refreshing the other doesn't show the refreshed tab as being logged in (this last one may well be something at my end, of course, but I mention it just in case it isn't)
