Just wondering, what is the probability of crossovers?

Take Samus Aran (you know, that badass bounty hunter) and have her rescue Princess Peach and others that are known more for *being captured and waiting for hero to save them* than anything else. Along the way Samus has to fend off horny tentacle plants and other things that want to have fun with her, and when Samus does rescue someone, have it be humorous (in the case of Peach, *uh, I was expecting Mario to save me, not a bounty hunter!*) and have the player decide whether lesbian love is the reward, or some kind of useful skill instead (again Peach: lezzie sex, or Peach teaches Samus to jump higher than she was able to before. You don't NEED the skill, but it would be useful - or maybe just repeatedly having lesbian sex would work as well)

Given that my drawing ability is nil, all I can do is throw out suggestions and maybe hope something like this would come to pass.

The probability of that particular crossover from me is nil, since I don't especially like Princess Peach or Samus Aran (or Nintendo). Part of the problem with parodies is that my tastes are quite obscure. I doubt many people would be interested in a Legend of Dragoon / Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross crossover.

The probability of any of these ideas is up in the air, since in the back of mind, I'm still wondering if I should just make art/comics/animations instead of bothering with game engines. (Although a lot of these ideas could work fine for non-game projects) And I don't know how quicky I'll be able to get anything done. Theoretically, much faster now that I don't have Flash throwing technical difficulties at me, but switching to Unity means starting from scratch in many ways. The very foundations of how I program things will be different.

I also tend to feel worried about using famous characters, what with their mega-corporation millionaire lawyers. Doing something aimed at lower budget Indie games would make me feel better, like FTLxStardewValley, or even smaller studios like Guilty Gear. I would also feel okay doing parody versions of famous characters, but then I'm forced with the challenge of making a character that is both obviously the original and obviously not the original.

And I do like making my own characters. Especially with anthro, there are so many animals to turn into people that it seems like a shame to do parodies. But then doing anthro parodies of things that aren't anthro represents an interesting to land that obviously is/obviously isn't balance.

And then there's always a part of me that looks at an idea and says, "why does this have to be a parody at all?" In the case of your Peach/Samus idea, it's worth asking "why does it have to be Peach and Samus?" You have a solid archetype with just a damsel-in-distress princess and action-adventure-girl bounty hunter, the characters Peach and Samus don't bring much personality to the table. In some cases, it's nicer to have the freedom to write what you want and not think "wait, this isn't how that character would act or what they would say".

Actually, right now, the idea I'd most like to do next (after Astro Vulpus) is that idea of anthro-cosplayers getting sucked into an alternate dimension and fighting their way out. But that may be beyond my abilities for a while, and possibly forever beyond my desire to program, but I've made beat 'em ups in Game Maker and Flash, and some of a beat 'em up in Unity, so it's probably do-able.

...

Huh, if I were going to make a list of Damsel in Distress characters, I wonder who I would choose though? I'm having a hard time thinking of any, there are too many strong female characters. But.... There's Akane Tendo. Bulma. Shana from Legend of Dragoon. Koko Bandicoot. April O'Neil. Various Disney Princesses. The damsels from Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. Princess Ovelia. Geeze, I feel like I must be missing a lot, but that's as much as I can think of right now.

But then I honestly don't much care for any of those characters. It would be more fun to do something where a bunch of action-adventure girls have gone to explore some dungeon or dangerous place and have all been captured and you need to rescue them.

By the way, this whole premise sound a lot like Rance.

I was playing a fun game and I wanted to jot down some notes. It's called Shadow Force, a very technical brawler with an interesting mechanic. Instead of a "free-running" 2.5d brawler, where pressing right means you face right, pressing left means you face left, Shadow Force locks you into facing the nearest enemy, more like a vs-fighting game, and using the same system would allow me to use more vs-fighting game mechanics than a free-running brawler would. I've actually seen 3D games that switch between free-running and locked facing behavior, Sly Cooper and Zelda for example, but Shadow Force is the only 2.5d game I know of that does locked facing.

It's an intriguing system, but I do have a few critiques. It's difficult to interact with the environment sometimes, like breaking a box and eating the food (recovery item) that's in it becomes difficult if the item is behind you. I could fix that by not using traditional brawler items, items could be from an RPG inventory screen or magnet grabbed or whatever. The Shadow Force AI also doesn't have multiple enemies attack you at once, the closest one will engage and the others will back off (at least in the first couple of levels). To me, this feels unrealistic and gamey. Multiple opponents requires more strategy and reflexes, and this challenge is part of what I love about brawler games. However, I can see that it might get confusing to engage multiple opponents in locked facing mode if you are constantly switching from target to target. Maybe the lock target will not change if you're still close enough to the first target, or it auto-locks to the last one you hit.

Also, since that wasn't particularly pornographic, here's a bonus idea. I was thinking about Legend of Dragoon. If you've never seen or played LoD, first of all, your life is a lie, go find it immediately, second of all, it's based on this idea that the characters fight with fairly believable medieval human abilities, but when they charge up enough Spirit Power, they transform into magical flying knights, Dragoons, like a cross between Final Fantasy and Power Rangers. When they transform, they get magical dragon armor, which is cool, but not very pornographic. Instead, a pornographic Legend of Dragoon parody could have them transform into dragon anthros. Naked dragon anthros. And all female or mostly female this time.

Worth noting that I have absolutely no intention of making a gigantic JRPG on my own in Unity (which is what Legend of Dragoon was). However, this premise could surely work with something more my style, like a scrolling shooter, avoider or brawler game. That said, I do own a copy of RPGMaker MV, so it's plausible that I could make a Legend of Dragon Anthro porn parody RPG with that. MV does entail certain limitations that I might not want to bother with.

One of my few complaints about the original was that you can't take the protagonist, Dart, out of your party. Given the nature of the combat system, this prevents you from being able to explore the other 6 characters as effectively, locks you into having a particular element all the time, and Dart will be "completed" long before anyone else, which makes him kinda boring to keep around. So while it would kinda make sense to have one male protagonist that you always have around, I also have a deep annoyance about that.

Also depending on the work load, it would probably be fun to do something with just elemental dragon anthros, without the transformation. The elements in LoD were Fire, Water/Ice, Wind/Wood, Earth, Light, Shadow, and Lightning. Oh, how I have dreampt of augmenting that over the years, but that's probably enough.

I remembered another series that I might try to porn parody sometime, Danny Phantom. I had a super crush on Spectra, the ghostly guitarist, and while the original art style wasn't the best at being sexy, there was a lot of potential for sexy characters if I draw it my way. Danny Phantom's ghost powers would also be good for voyeurism or a ghosts could attack with tentacles and Danny saves the girls and gets rewarded.

I would have said that Danny Phantom is old enough and obscure enough that it's safe to do full-on parody with the actual characters, but the creator, Butch Hartman, has been campaigning at Nickolodeon to do a sequel, Danny Phantom: 10 Years Later, and if he succeeds, there might be a crack-down on the branding. But it's always fun to make my own versions of things.

One of the reasons I liked Danny Phantom so much was the internal conflict he feels. When he receives his ghost powers and notices the ghost infestation, Danny feels a duty to use his powers to protect the innocent, i.e. if he does nothing, people will suffer. But he's also just a kid, he has difficulty balancing his super hero gig with his day-to-day life and he often feels the temptation to use his super powers to get ahead. He's also more believable because the moral implications of using ghost powers to "cheat" are secondary to the threat of getting caught and alienating himself from the people around him. If I were going to make my own Fapping Phantom parody, I would want to make a character that is struggling with this same moral dilemma, and exploring more of the dark side of ghost powers.

Another thing is that I would want to do is try to remove some of the family ties between the main character and some of the hotties. Danny's mother and sister are potential porn material, but I really don't like incest stuff. There's also his (spoilers?) female clone, which is sort of a grey area. But there's also plenty of female characters without resorting to family members. Especially if I do a major rewrite, there are all kinds of relationships I could try. There's also the possibility of crossover stuff, maybe he'll run into a Kim Possible parody.

So I am getting closer to a Diesel Punk game idea that I like. It would be another descendant of Astro Vulpus, hot female fighter pilots going on missions and shagging it up back at the base. I want to depict something based on the Pacific Theatre of WWII, since I feel like the war in Europe gets a lot more attention when it comes to video games. This will be an alternate universe where only women are in the military (or at least the air force) instead of only men, the exact names will be changed, like the Freedom Union is at war with the Empire of Dawn in the Oceanic Theatre, and human beings will be replaced with various species of animal people.

Basic plot is that young women from the Freedom Union have volunteered or been drafted as fighter pilots, and they are shipped out to a tropical island that is nothing like the towns and cities they left behind. The hot conditions leads to less clothing, combined with the lack of men and stressful conditions leads to sexual experimentation in the all female squadron. The overall mission arc is to capture the tropical island and its airstrip, protect the airstrip from attack, and then use the airstrip to attack targets elsewhere in the Oceanic. The girls want to survive long enough to complete their tours of duty and return home. A "good ending" might see them hooking up with each other back home. At the moment, I'd like to do a more realistic combat system like Alloy Tengu/Blazing Void or Ace Combat, but I need to think about which will be more do-able.

I thought the Oceanic Theatre conflict could be an excuse to do a series with all sea-creature anthros, I've thought of sharks, squid, lobster, seagull, seal, dolphin, orca, tuna, marlin, barracuda, flying fish, moorish idol, jellyfish, sea horse, etc, I could do all sorts of things, though I'm not sure how many is a good number. I'm worried that this may not make sense though, if the plot is that one of the girls has been living in the Big Apple all her life and is bewildered by the conditions on a tropical island, it would be sort of weird to cast the NYC girl as a shark or squid (although seagull or seal would be more believable). Or maybe there's a farmer that learned to fly as a crop duster and gets drafted for flight experiences, it would make more sense to cast this character as a coyote or bighorn or some other American land creature. I'll have to see how I feel about it at the time.

As for what you'll be flying, first choice is the Vought F4U Corsair, a.k.a. "Whistling Death":
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

Since I came up with the idea for this game while watching this documentary on Corsairs. Though I would probably use some kind of alternate name, like the "Buccaneer", and I may or may not take some artistic liberties with the design of the plane. If I really want to make it DieselPunk, the thing to do would be to make some kind of crazy looking quasi-futuristic airplane like this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

If there are multiple aircraft, one of them will absolutely be (or be based on) my favorite WWII plane, the Lockheed P-38 Lighting, a.k.a. "Fork Tailed Devil":
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Historian Ace the SuperVillain would have some problem with Corsairs and Lightnings flying in the same missions because the Corsair was used by the Marines and the Lightning was used by the Air Force, so this would require some suspension of disbelief on my part that barely anyone else would ever care about.

If there are multiple planes, you would either play as one person all the time and fly whatever plane you want for each mission, or each girl flies her own plane (i.e. shark-girl flies a corsair, squid-girl flies a lightning, seagull-girl flies a dauntless, etc) and you pick which one to fly in missions.

One idea for game set-up is that it's kind of like those dating sim games where you have 100 days to get laid as much as possible, but instead of days, you've got to pass 25 missions (i.e. complete your tour of duty). If I really wanted to kick you in your emotional groins, I might work out some kind of perma-death component. Like maybe you've got 3 continues and after that, it's all over. Not only could YOU die, but also your AI squadron pilots, so if you're trying to go all the way with a specific girl, you also need to keep both her and yourself alive in the missions. There would have to be some kind of difficulty select system, maybe 3 tiers, Casual Mode there's no permadeath, Average Mode you can save and restart and purchase extra lives with money or relationship points, and Hard Core Mode there's no reloading, no purchasing extra lives.

In the back of my mind, the Alloy Tengu / Blazing Void games, which I would probably base this on, tended to take a lot more time than I expected them to, and AI was always tricky. I would definitely want some extra experience, so it's something to think about after I finish Bungaroids and Ion Tails.

Another far-off DieselPunk shoot 'em up game I could do is WWII-2. (I feel like someone has probably come up with that title before, so it's a working title for now) The idea is that it's an alternate reality where World War 2 did not end, and the fighting continues with some of the experimental airplanes that never shined in real life.

From America, this would be:
P-58 Chain Lightning

P-54 Swoose Goose

P-55 Ascender

P-56 Black Bullet

P-67 Moonbat
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

F5U Flying Flapjack
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

I might also do it so that you can play as various different countries. I think for the hypothetical scenario of WWII-2, the Soviet Union has split from the Allies and the Japanese Empire has split from the Axis. For Germany, I think we'll propose that Operation Valkyrie was a success, Hitler was assassinate by German loyalists, Rommel has been installed as the new leader and the new Reich manages to negotiate a cease-fire long enough to get back on its feet and rebuild Fortress Europe for a new conflict in WWII-2. At the moment, I haven't done enough research to promise what any of the other countries would be flying.

Other playable powers could be:
Germany (European Axis)
Britain/Commonwealth (i.e. fighting in India, Australia, Africa, Middle East)
Soviet Union
Japan
Maquis/Resistance (i.e. France, Norway, Poland, etc, these would be a different kind of gameplay where you are doing more stealth missions and sabotage attacks)
Sweden (which was neutral in the war, but had its Saab aircraft nonetheless) (Might just be part of the Resistance)

This would obviously be a huge undertaking, so might be best to split things across multiple sequels. 2nd game could be called WWII-2b and 3rd game could be called WWII-2b-Continued.

And by now, you're probably thinking, but wait, that's not pornographic. Oh, it will be. It will be...

If you are going to do dieselpunk things, what about cyberpunk? I'm sure you are aware of Shadowrun for SNES and Genesis, and while two very different games, they both explored by cyberpunk idea. How hard would it be to turn a cyberpunk thriller into a hentai game?

Cyberpunk's just not that interesting to me. It's also a very busy looking style, a lot of minute details everywhere, which can be a lot of extra work. Steampunk has the same problem.

If I wanted to go for more futuristic sci-fi, my choice would be a style known by several names, AtomPunk, Raygun Gothic, Retro-Futurism, Pulp Sci-Fi. Here are some images of that:

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Ultimately, I like these bright, happy, progressive looking images of the future. It's a future where there can still be drama, but technological advancement has made life better and better for people. Whereas Cyberpunk (and I'm mostly thinking of Blade Runner) tends to lean on the theme that more technology means more problems. Bear in mind that I also like bright, happy pornography and not the dark stuff that most pornographic cartoonists come up with.

Hey gang, I've got news!

Most of these ideas have been based around the Flash game engines that I already made. But Unity has a bunch of game engines that I can buy from the Unity Store. I've got a separate topic on this here.

I had been planning to putz around with scrolling shooter games, because these are an effective precursor to learning how to do Beat 'em Ups, but Unity has a bunch of Action Adventure engines lying around that I can use right away. So now, making Beat 'em Ups will higher on my to-do list.

There are also a bunch of RPG engines which will have inventory and skill system and quests and dialog and possibly crafting, none of which I would have wanted to make on my own, but if I can just buy them, that's certainly on the table.

In the same vein, there are also several Turn Based Strategy engines available, which also isn't something I would have wanted to make on my own, but it's something I've always wanted to do.

Okay, here's an oldie that crossed my mind today, Town 'n Dungeon, a plotline I had planned to make in RPGMaker2003 back when that was relatively new. The idea was to be the sort of JRPG where everything is as new and whacky and contrarian as possible. This wasn't intended to be pornographic, but I won't pretend I haven't entertained the notion.

Our story takes place on the planet Sky, a gas giant full of floating islands. One of these islands is the home of Tiger's Tavern, a tavern owned by Tiger, a businesstiger with a steak of megalomania. The player commands Tiger's Acquisition Team, tasked with scouring the islands of Sky for whatever Tiger wants. So instead of the normal fare of saving the world from ancient evil, you are out collecting ingredients for booze, collecting debts, forcing bosses to become franchises, that sort of thing.

Characters:
Acquisition Team:
Hiro = Humans are a rarity on Sky, and Hiro is one of them. He fancies himself a legendary adventurer, but he's really just a booze hound who has trouble paying his bar tab. Tiger forces him into the Acquisition Team in exchange for not paying his bills. Hiro is an all round character, good at fighting and magic.

Ninla = A Mekka-jin ninja princess from the island of Mekkamoto. The Mekka-jin are a cybornetic race who mimic feudal Japanese society. Ninla is destined to take over her ninja clan some day, and so she is on a mission to go out into the world and make connections that might prove useful once she becomes the Ninja Queen or whatever. At first she keeps this a secret, part of her ninja training is that she can blend in with anyone. Once it becomes known, Tiger likes having a connection with a Mekka-jin ninja princess, and Ninla values Tiger's business acumen. Ninla has a high speed stat, but very low defense.

Drookie = A baby dragon who is on a sort of dragonic rumspringa. He joins the Acquisition Team somewhat reluctantly because he needs a job to start funding his dragon hoard. Drookie looks down on non-dragons as inferior to dragon-kind, but has to admit that as a baby, they are a match for him. Drookie is a magic user, but has a great defense score.

Ikkon = Another Mekka-jin, known as The Robotic Ronin. Very skilled, but incredibly lazy, he is difficult to motivate. Ikkon is originally an adversary, but joins the Acquisition Team because he has nothing better to do. Ikkon has very low speed, but his other stats are extraordinary. That was the idea at the time, I'm not sure if I actually want two Mekka-jin on the Acquisition Team.

Merlina = A witch. She was there to be the main magic user, but I never had much of an idea about her as a character. Probably, Tiger hears of her talents, and sends the Acquisition team to recruit her. Lots of magic power, MP, but crappy with weapons and low defense.

Vort = A steampunk goblin, because the goblins of Sky are steampunk. Vort is a ranger, focusing on ranged weapons, which may or may not mean anything depending on what RPG engine is used.

Bluu = A "frost giant", which on Sky is a wolf-shark-dinosaur thing. I totally drew a picture of him once: https://acethesupervillain.deviantart.c ... -150538733 He has great stats, but is very limited in what weapons and armor he can use.

Liger = Tiger's daughter. Tiger and her husband, Lion, a lion, are now divorced. Tiger is a normal tiger, and Lion is a normal lion, but Liger is a tiger catgirl, suggesting that perhaps Tiger engaged in impropriety. Tiger eventually lets Liger join the Acquisition Team to help her out in life. Liger has a crush on Hiro, which is awkward for him, because she is attractive but it would mean dating the boss' daughter, and that boss is a tiger with megalomania who thinks Hiro is a good-for-almost-nothing drunkard. Liger has healing powers, like her mother, plus a tiger's natural power and speed.

Tiger's Tavern Patrons:
Cat = A cat, and a mad scientist. His primary invention is a set of teleportation devices that allow the Acquisition Team to travel to islands all over Sky.

Dog & Cow = Retired adventurers who stay at Tiger's Tavern and share their experience with the Acquisition Team. Dog and Cow were once great friends and traveled together, but they've had a falling out.

Lion's Team:
As mentioned, Tiger was once married to Lion, but they are now divorced and business rivals. Lion has climbed the corporate ladder, while Tiger insists on being an entrepreneur. As Tiger's Acquisition Team starts making profits for Tiger's Tavern, Lion creates his own team to thwart them and get back at Tiger.

Siss = Hiro's sister, who hates him and wants revenge for something I haven't thought of yet.

Kitsune = A kyuubi, she is the Lion Team's main magic user.

Vinni the Raptor = A velociraptor and the Lion Team's rogue character. I like the phrase "Vinni the Raptor" so much, that I've thought about putting this character in other games.

Bazurka = A berzerker, and one of these almost-but-not-quite human species on Sky.

Other thoughts were an island of Fire Elves, kinda like Drow, but they live on a floating volcanic island, and Firjerks, a race of tree-people who function as Sky's low level badguys. Although I'm imagining something more like a deciduous tree. Maybe Oakgres? Ash-holes?

Okay, now that that's out of my system, serious talk.

I've found a downloadable project from the Unity Store that I really like, Hitbear Studio's Action RPG Starter Kit: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/9076 I definitely want to use this for my next game, (after Bungaroids, definitely gonna finish Bungaroids), so I want to start thinking about what it will be like.

The thing is, I have no idea what the starter kit is actually like to work with. From the reviews, it sounds like this is mostly just a sample game project, meant for people to create their own characters and design their own levels, but not something that will stand up to a lot of modification. This might just be from people who don't know how to program, but even though I do know how to program, I don't want to, so the plan is to stick pretty close to Hitbear's original formula. Which is fine for now, cuz it's a damn good game demo on its own.

As far as pornifying this game, I'm thinking the simple thing to do is leave the action gameplay alone and insert some Blender porn videos. This allows me to use good quality models for sex scenes, and lower quality, higher performance models for the action RPG gameplay. I am also still not a fan of splicing porn and action gameplay together, so you'll have your sexy time when you're back at the village or after a successful bossfight.

So what sort of character relationships could I use? Since the over-the-shoulder perspective isn't great for having a sexy player character, it might make sense to play as a dude and find people out in the world to have sex with, a lot of finding damsels in distress or banging hot shopkeepers. It's plausible that I might be able to reprogram the camera and turn the game into a top down perspective, like Lunia or Rusty Hearts, depending on how integrated the camera coding is, but honestly, the over-shoulder camera feels very immersive, which can be as good as sexy.

There are some more interesting possibilities. One of the sample spells they give you is a summoning spell, which makes me think maybe I could use a summoning system like in Astro Vulpus, but since I don't know how much I can change about the spells, I don't know if it would feel right. Hitbear's Top Down RPG has a mercenary system where you can pay people to follow you around and fight by your side, so I don't know if that's included in the Action RPG system, although there are NPC guards that will fight if any monsters go too close to the village. There's also a crafting system, and quest system, so it makes me think I could make something like Pokkoloh, where you can get things for people and they reward you with relationship points or sex.

Okay, thoughts have been progressing.

I downloaded the Action RPG Starter Kit, and the Easy Event System from Hitbear, so I've got a better idea of what can and can't be done. As expected, the best bet is going to be to use the Action RPG framework exactly as intended, but they did program it in JS, so if I eventually want to modify something, it'll be that much easier. (Because Javascript is like ActionScript3 which is what I'm used to) But the Easy Event System looks very useful, and it has a way to play animations on characters or show pictures and dialog boxes, so this will be a great way of delivering porn.

I also bought a sci-fi environment pack for making the reward scenes in Bungaroids, and I'd like to get some mileage out of that and use it for an Action RPG as well. This means we're IN SPAAACE probably, so I'm thinking back to some of the old space opera game ideas.

The one I remember first is the FTL universe parody. This has some strong good points. It would make sense to do the entire game onboard spaceships, so I don't need another environment file for planets or whatever. There's a nice limited number of potential enemies, playable races and boarding drones, so I don't need to model shitloads of monsters for an RPG. I don't think now's the time to do that Stardew Valley FTL crossover, since that would take a lot of artwork to get off the ground. The ARPGSK would mean that this game would be more focused on hand-to-hand fighting than ship-to-ship fighting, so you're probably going to play as a boarding team.

To be fair, there is also the Star Fox parody thing again. It would be very different to have the characters fighting hand-to-hand instead of in their fighters, but Star Fox Assault did that, so why not. Like I mentioned before, the summoning system could work in the ARPGSK too, so it could use the same sort of system as Astro Vulpus. I should mention Star Fox Adventures, Legend of Krystal and Corta's Splatformer, where the idea was to crashland on a backwards planet, but then I need a planetary environment instead of my sci-fi one. I do like the idea of animal-people better than robots and rockmen from FTL, so maybe final result will be something in between.

Oh yeah, I had also been thinking about a Dinosaur Lazer Fight game. I originally thought of doing that as a scrolling shooter, but as a character-based game it would be better as an Action RPG. It's a song about dinosaurs that get mad and start a lazer fight that spills into outerspace, where sharks, robots and guitar shredding martians eventually get involved. My first thought was that this triggers years of war between the 4 nations, but that's kinda bleak, and I'd rather have some option to choose your character as a dinosaur, shark, robot or martian, so I don't know how that would work.

And there's still the thought of using the RPG engine to make a Pokkoloh or farming type game. Maybe this takes place in some kind of generation ship where something has gone horribly wrong, some aliens have invaded or biological experiments have gotten loose and you need to defend and sustain yourself and some hot women.
