As you go on your many ways, waking from your beds, and living life to your fullest of capabilities, I hope you take a moment to remember those that fell on June 6th, 1944. Not just for those that fought on the allied side, but those whom fought on the axis side, and may we remember so we one day don't have to do it again.

June 6th 1944, I know something gigantic happened, yet I can't remember....I blame our schools!

And yes, I feel horrible because I had to Google it to remember.

The truth is, each of us have our 'Mein Kampf' life everyday. Peace needs to rule the world.

I remember the importance of the date more from a Sabaton song of all things than when I learned history in high school, then again not many schools so much as mention the sheer scope of the eastern front in World War II.

For those that stormed the beaches and those that held it. Neither side wanted to fight but was there anyhow for a country they believed in. War. Shameful in what it destroys. Yet brilliant in what it creates.
