As you all probably have heard, that Disney had bought LucasArts and LucasFilm. Well today i found an article saying that they have closed LucasArts. The gaming part of Star Wars and all related games that grew from it.

i figured i would show the article i found and hear your thoughts on it

Hmmm this doesn't mean there wont be more lucas arts games as they are making it a publishing side as opposed to a studio, but none of the game that are likely to come from Lucas Arts will made by them any more. Tis annoying i like star wars, and grew up on Sam & Max and Monkey Island... people forget Lucas Arts Studio wasn't just about Star Wars. This may bite Disney in the rectum... mind you saying that does Disney have a rectum to bite?

It's been known for a while that a lot of LucasArts' best franchises have been on the ropes or out of steam (the cancellation of Battlefront III, for example) so I suppose I don't mind.

And as long as their IP's and projects are given to a good developer, I will continue to not mind. Corporate restructuring means nothing to me unless it affects the fate of a game/franchise, but in this case I think it's more likely that we'll see the continuation of franchises like Battlefront if the reins are handed to a new developer.

Games! They makes games.... like.. no I think the last game I saw a ad for that they made was for a poor looking fps and that is before battle front games.

They out source games all the time. Hell they out souce ports to 10 different companies who have no fucking idea how they are making fans made by not being consistent

And thus, a Disney hate page has turned into a LucasArts hate page. Let's try to stay on topic. For example, instead of paying a small amount of money on the Children's package to watch Disney films all the time, you now have to pay a lot more because they made it part of the Movies package. (Sky) And, strangely enough, I can't think of a Disney film where the Black guy dies first. What is this witchcraft!!!

Lucasarts being shut down isn't entirely a bad thing. As of late their games were low quality and everyone was getting sick of getting things they never wanted. Now that they're gone, other game developers have a chance to create entertaining games such as the Battlefront 3 everyone has wanted for the longest time.

But KOTOR 3! And Star Wars 1313! IS THERE NO END TO THEIR DEPRAVITY

I never saw 1313 so i don't know is lucas arts got their shit together; however in recent years it was sub par.
As for KOTOR 3.... Bioware made that game and i think that company isn't in it's prime anymore. Masseffect 3 is likely their last great game in a long time. We're not talking about the ending.

Didnt EA shut down BioWare as well? I thought I heard something about that

They're really focusing on the fans. The fans want to play with their blisters, because really who doesn't want blisters? XD

I think LucasArts was really long past its peak; back in the day it made several great Star Wars games, and also a ton of awesome original content like the Monkey Island series, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango.
But then a lot of other games saw them as publishers, like the Jedi Knight games (Jedi Outcast being my favourite) and Knights of the Old Republic/Star Wars the Old Republic.
Really 1313 was one of the more interesting exceptions, and I'm hoping Disney handed that off to a studio to finish, as it makes no sense to waste what was done on it.


But yeah, LucasArts has been mostly a publisher for a while now anyway, so it makes sense to just reduce it into a brand. Sad, but not really unexpected.

Better than episode 3! Seriously though, the director of Star Treck is going to be directing any new Star wars movie, which the fans of Star Treck vastly outnumber ...while I am not a devout follower of either series, George has done something really, really bad...he created Jar Jar Binks. So far Star Treck does not have the equivalent of him.


Also, Star Wars 1313 has been announced ages ago...

Sorry I got off topic, long story short, DIsney can't ruin what is already ruined by its own creator.
