Good PC games

Postby AsianP3rsuas10n » Sat Mar 16, 2013 7:37 am

Anyone know of any fun PC games I could play?
Preferably free >_> I grow tired of my day in and day out League of Legends routine and need something new and fun to play.
If possible just post a list of your favorite game and it would make me love you more if you could categorize them in genre :D tyvm

NOT FROM DUST! FUCK YOU UBI-BASTARDS! The day they stopped putting annoying codes you could lose within the game boxes was the day my heart got stabbed by a "spear of stupidity +2 att"

Dwarf fortress,
castle of the wind 1 & 2
The Ur-Quan Masters/ star control 2
X-Com enemy Unknown/UFO defense hell terror from the deep is also good if you ask me.
prospector
tons of dos games that you can't buy thus you must use more... sneaky methods of getting them... Like bribing a test subject with cake would work.
Half life
portal.
TF2 is free.

Team Fortress 2 is fun if you find that rare game where there are nice people who actually want to game, not scream into the mic because your mom is a fagot, or crates4scrap plz

But I know some cheap games, like FTL, that is a good one, Minecraft, Knights of the Old Republic is free now I think, and probably a few others. But just remember, everything on the Pirate Bay is free is you're willing to risk a giant ass lawsuit because you got caught too many times by the game's shareholders, because you for seeded to long instead of deleting the torrent file after it was done downloading >.>

But that's illegal, so just go sell some meth instead.

Well There's DarkReign (darkreign.ws Just delete the mods of the game) (furturistic RTS game similar to Starcraft) and Command&Conquer: RedAlert for free. (redalert1.com) TF2 for the fps fans (If you can't find a good game slaughter bots. Plus there's alot of fun maps to try out) SpiralKnights is a somewhat-good dungeon crawler on Steam and Realm of the Mad God is a frantic 8-bit bullet-hell/MMORPG on Steam also. There's Elsword Online for the sidescrolling beat-em-up/RPG players. Uhhh.....on the cheap side of Steam ($10 down) there's Binding of Isaac, Cave Story+, and some others. Red Eclipse (redeclipse.net) is a great Halo-esque FPS that has a decent community.

Honestly I'm too tired right now to think of much more. Hope this helped.

Star war : the old republic is free (even if the game suggest you to buy it all the time) and it's great. I only know the french community but I rarely find assholes.
Excuse my English, I'm French.

Guild Wars 2 is probably one of the best mmos I've played by far. If you don't mind paying the initial fee, once that's over there is no subscription fee. Plus you can download the game straight from the website so that's cool. Planet Side 2 is a pretty fun FTP game I know (on steam). It has its issues but it's pretty damn fun if you have friends or a group to play with.

I have to agree with losdiablo on GW2. Though as he already stated, it is not free. You have to buy the client. AND GW2 lacks the usual endgame raid system most MMORPGs sponsor. So if that is what you like about MMORPGs, GW2 might not be the right choice. Personally, I don't miss it that much, the open event system partially compensates for it.
However, if you like to explore an incredibly detailed world, like competitive PvP and WvW (large scale PvP server vs. server) or like doing dungeons in small groups, you'll feel right at home in GW2.

SWTOR is a nice MMO too and it is f2p now BUT the limitations for f2p players are rather severe. I'm not entirely sure if you still have to buy the client or not, I got mine when you still needed a subscription to play.
Don't get me wrong, I think they managed to beautifully capture the old republic feeling of the books, graphic novels and KOTOR. Gameplay is business as usual imo when it comes to MMORPGS and their PvP maps are mostly incredibly fun to play.
But as i said the limitations fpr f2p players are too severe in my opinion. I think this webcomic caught it just fine: http://www.nerfnow.com/comic/866
If you stumble across any typos, you may keep them and rear new ones in your basement.

I mainly play GW2 (sometimes with Berserkerhorn), but i enjoyed planetside 2 aswell (free)
I often find myself thinking that most people are utter shite. I try to be positive and prove myself wrong. So far I've yet to succeed in doing so.
On the otherhand: I know a few of the actually great people out there and that makes me happy enough.

List of games:
- GW2 / Guildwars 2 (great, but with a starting fee)
- PS2 / Planetside 2 (fun when played with others, free)
- Minecraft (freely played game, fun to play with others, starting fee)
- Tribes ascend (fast paced Fps, very diffrent from others though, free)
- FTL (pretty much the same thing every time you play, but the maps and events are randomized , costs)
- age of chivalry (bow/sword fighting game, realistic and hard but fun, costs)
- Dark Messiah (10 y/o first person fighting game, decnet grafics and engine, I play it alot, even nowadays)

I've played thall of these games alot and found them entertaining (might add more later)

losdiablo: Wow you avatar is so cool    Where did you take this art of Krystal ?

About the topic - Play AION / Perfect world / Lineage 2 / Rising Force online / Terra online a little (but too low ping in my country for america severs  :( )
But was very dissapointed in them with time.

And now it is a really big question what to play - all games becomes not interesting - Donators kill every one and game by itself is boring. All is only based on your gear and nothing on your skill. Donators are immortal, all they have to do to win is turn on there PC and they can even do not be near there PC.

I even miss old games. There were interesting to play all the time - and games we play again and again becouse process was interesting. You need not get top gear for that - just play and have fun. To play with other peoples is very interesting - but do not see the game where it can be interesting to play with out getting all top. Not get one shots from top players - and even if you are top level player one shots from donators. Some kind of balance or some thing like that.

With logickal updates not like ahaha - we will kill your charecter class in this chronicle - ahahaha - want to play good again buy ney gear and kill thousands of monsters  :?

RPG is good game but not in that view they give it. You get real level when you are playing - not becouse some bar shows your ingame level
I do not see a real reason why damage of low level have to be 1000 times smaller then high level charecter.

I see some good ideas and private servers of games and there mods but becouse of all i write before it is not interesting to play

I like some old games on emulators from old platforms - Parasite Eve / Contra - from dendy and etc / Eath worm jim / Streets of rage / Final Fantasy 8
From PC - Postal 2 a little  / Herous / Starcraft / Command and conquere / The Pink Panther Passport to Peril
And a lot more.

The gaming process of them was interesting by itself

they tried to fix the low-lvl vs high-lvl in GW2. All areas have a lvlcap, lvl 2 - lvl 80 making anyone above this lvl get stats as the low-lvl ones, and in all PvP/WvWvW fights all characters have thier lvl uped to lvl 80

I also wanted to say that GW2 lets the player play his personaly story missions (multiple paths possible)

Yeah, the funny thing is that if you get caught torrenting, you'll probably face larger fines than if you're caught running a meth lab. Thanks, MPAA/RIAA.

Minecraft's awesome, and always getting better. There are tons of mods out, and vanilla is constantly getting more exciting.

FTL is pretty cool, but doesn't have all that much replayability.

Left for Dead, Left for Dead 2, Team Fortress, Half-Life, Portal, pretty much anything from Valve to be honest. Their games are old but still rocking.

Sadly, Valve can't count to three. But otherwise they make pretty damn good games.

From playing close to 40 different MMOs/F2Ps, I would recommend:
Planetside 2 (MMOFPS, play on the side of one of tree different empires to take control over Auraxis)
Blacklight Retribution (FPS, play against other players in different game modes)
Team Fortress 2 (FPS, play as 9 different classes in many different game modes)
Tribes Ascend (Fast FPS, fastest FPS ever)
Hawken (FPS, jump in the pilot seat of a mech and take down the enemy meches in different game modes)
APB: Reloaded (MMORPG, join the law or fight against it, jump into different missions with other players and kill thous who isn't on your side)
Warframe (TP Combat/Shooter, play as an ancient alien spies named Teno and fight through enemy space stations, space ships and infected space ships)
DC Universe (MMORPG, make your own DC super hero and fight crime in Gotham City, Metropolis and (I forgot the name))

Thous are the MMOs/F2Ps I would recommend that I can remember.
(Most of the MMOs/F2Ps I have played was shit, in my opinion)
