Poetry Slam

Won second place, here are the version of the poems I used.

Pacifist's War Cry
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

I am a weird guy, living by a code that I must abide, and sometimes, I just want to say goodbye. I wear these clothes, which most people say blows, to the point where you could punch them in the nose. But I’m a pacifist, not an activist, it’s my job to ignore the trait that baits me to hate.

I’m a brony, a furry, a computer crazy. I spend one life on the internet as many, making up for the one I should strive, even knowing that if I continue like this I will not survive. Whenever I am outside, I help wherever I stride, not just for pride.

But why, why try at all in a world where people don’t have drive, where hate is the primary emotion that arrives, why do I continue when people thrive to deprive each other of their lives?

So why, why do I try?

This is a pacifist’s war cry, a code that I choose to abide by, and many times, people just say goodbye. I reach to be different, while many people remain ignorant. Minorities once asked for equality, but even after victory, there still isn’t harmony, because no one ever really wants diversity.

Everyone is becoming poor, with delusions of grandeur, when the middle class are the doers and the high class is full of manure. Life isn’t fair, but we’re running out of air, we need to take care, before we all fall into despair.

I see people who sag calling each other fags. Occasionally I’ll notice that smell, then onto drugs I’ll dwell. It seems being doomed is a guarantee, and I felt I had nothing more to lose, but it took pony staring at me, as the only thing keeping me from a noose.
But I won’t say goodbye, and I won’t turn a blind eye.

This world needs peace, before we see the world in pieces.

Video and the second one coming soon.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

So I'm going to be participating in Louder Than a Bomb for a collage group I met, what do you guys think of this?

So why!?! Why do I try!?!?

I already made a Poetry! thread, but it got locked. My school has a poetry slam group, but I never really thought about joining it. However, being in the creative writing class, I will be attending, but not preforming in one that a collage is hosting. I will totally loose it if I see you.

Wow, that's nice! I slam myself, in french though.

Very nice to read (even so slam's not meant to be read but to be shout out loud, IMO), and break a leg!

Respect.

Thanks!
And I will be yelling it, if I can get a copy of the video, I'll see if I can post it on youtube and I'll link it.

Also Sugar, ;)

Lols, here is another one I wrote up, if I get into the second round. I have no one around right now to give me any criticism before I yell it to a crowd of a few hundred people tomorrow, so I could really use some comments on this one.

Also, maybe I should give a shoutout to Sugar to see if she is actually there? Nah, as awesome as it would be to see an erotic forum member blush like crazy in front of her entire class, I think I'll save her the trouble... for now. >8D

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Sometimes, people look at me and ask if I am alright. To which I usually reply,
Yeah, I’m just tired...

Tired of all the hate I see where ever I walk
Of listening to people who only talk
Tired of sharing the road with drivers who won’t let me pass
while America slips into the lower class

Tired of this generation
sending us all into damnation
Tired of these politicians
who need to be removed from their positions

Tired of planet being drained of its precious vitality
while everyone looses their sanity
Tired of all these horrible thoughts
of a belt around my neck tied in knots

Tired of living in this world
while the real plot unfurled
Tired of the government
who lock everything in their basement

… But most of all, I’m tired of myself

Tired that I can’t get a promotion
without causing too much commotion
Tired that I can’t stay awake
that lunch isn't my only sleeping break

Tired that actually try
while everyone thinks I just let time fly bye
So tired I could just scream
while I’m haunted by my own dream

…Yeah, I’m just tired.

Although I'm not really one for poetry myself, I've gotta say that these are both quite good, and if you DID post a video, that would be even better than me screaming the words to myself in my head.

I swear to god if you do that, I will find you, and slowly invade your dreams with the millions of horrorterrors from the farthest ring of the void, where you will be stuck in a forever trance of sleep, seconds will be converted to years, pleasure is extinct, and suffering will have an entirely new meaning.

Besides, I'll probably just wave if I think it's you.

Yeah, the video recorder messed up the files, so no video!

But! I am working on another poem when I go to state soon. I'll post it for revisions, because I kinda hate it, it's just random thoughts right now, with no rhyme or reason. Needs more structure, flow, etc

Did I say no video?
What I meant was the recorder dun derped and failed to record the last poem of the first round, and the entire second round. And guess who was the last slam of the 1st round? THAT'S RIGHT! THIS GUY! *mumble mumble*

But I have a few others, and I think Sugar is in the audience, so with her permission I'll link it and point her out for you guys. Meanwhile, ima do that hate poem about my dad, gimma a sec to write it up.
