So your going to have to tell us what games your trying to play.
If you're taken to a mediafire page to download, than you most likely have install some third party software.

Some stuff will require FlashPlayer which should work on Macs'
The RPG games will require the RPG maker RTP. There should be a link in the thread if they use RPG maker. I don't know if RPG maker works on Macs.
I use Java and i think some one else was going to make a java game, I provide the link to everything you should need to run my game. Java works on Macs

RPG maker would only work on Macs if they have a way to run .exe's in some sort of supported fashion. I can tell you that Wine doesn't cut it.

I know they have some way to emulate windows. I don't know if it's any good.

IIRC, Wine runs under Mac, as well as one other way to run .exes.

To be fair, neither of them are "emulators" in the technical sense. Emulators are made to emulate different hardware, not different software.

i so want to talk about how software is the result olf the information from hard ware bu i would make hi og off topic. i consider the windows virual bull crap to be a emulator nd for he most part that just emulating the soft expect for he hard dive. dmn kindle is hard to use.

Damn, that kindle looks really hard to use.

I'll accept that saying that Wine is "emulating" windows is fine using the common definition ("To strive to equal or excel, especially through imitation", according to TheFreeDictionary.com), but not only does Wine stand for "Wine is not an emulator", but also the definition of "emulator" in the area of computer science is "To imitate the function of (another system), as by modifications to hardware or software that allow the imitating system to accept the same data, execute the same programs, and achieve the same results as the imitated system." (also according to TheFreeDictionary.com).

Since Windows and Linux run on the same system, emulating Windows isn't emulation in the sense that a lot of people use to pan it ("it's an emulator, so of course it'll run slowly" being the most common).

All I gotta say is that RPG Maker VX doesn't work on Linux running Wine. Everything else I've said is off topic. XD

As said here, if you're using anything but Windows, you're pretty much screwed. If you're using Windows, all you do is extract (preferrably using 7-Zip or similar) and execute "game.exe".

I think like 99% of macs come with Bootcamp standard now. There really isn't a reason not to have a Windows partition

Windows 8 is crappy shit made for tablets and isn't at all ready for a true computer.

I've got a reason for you, Gorepete: money.

Windows 7 costs 120 USD at the cheapest. That's not exactly pocket change, and very well may constitute a third of the cost of your computer.

Also, Windows sucks hardcore. It sucks more every new iteration. Windows 9 will be designed solely for the Kinect.

XP is better than 200, Windows 7 is better than XP and well... windows 8 is crap on desktop but i've heard it's great on tablets.

A question sorta linked to this one; Ive been trawling the forums for the latest version of each game, and getting hopelesly lost. Any hope of someone telling me what ones are current, as it were? Or perhaps start a thread where people post the latest versions?

For the majority of games, there's a "last updated" date in the title, and if not, you can find out the last update in the OP.
