Starfox;

Ok, So I actually went and bought or downloaded the games I could fine.

Starfox, Starfox 64, Starfox Adventures, and Starfox Assault.

Starfox, The game was pretty interesting.

Starfox 64, I like the remake, great jump in graphics. I love how its almost RPG like with the difficulty routes, and how you can kill off (I mean let die) Falco for being a douche, Slippy for being annoying as hell, and try to save peppy because he actually tries to be helpful (I only heard "do a barrel roll" twice btw). Plus, the plot was pretty decent.

Adventures, the game sucked IMO. At first I thought I got a non-english version and I would be stuck playing with subtitles. The gameplay was also cheap, it was just the Zelda Windwaker engine, put with Conker graphics. Finally, the story sucked, which was a big surprise to me.(hehe, now I actually get to use this properly, good timeing Renara)
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

First, its classic game stuff, ya, can't really complain. Then you tell your only ride to "shoo" as you enter a strange temple. Also, I never heard from Krystal's backstory again, WTF!!! At first I thought it would be revealed in another game, but no.
She just seems to be a last minute love interest for Fox McCloud. Regardless of that, she is still sexy as hell, and I kept trying to look under her loin cloth the little time I got to control her.
Also, the voices were kind of annoying, but its a kids game so meh. The store haggler can suck my three testicles, just saying.
Bla bla bla, save the planet with no weapons, but you get a weapon anyways, bla bla bla no gravitational disturbances? but again, kids game, so meh.

Fast forward some more after about an hour of speed running because of the old game style irritating gameplay, you have to save your girl instead of save the planet, but hey, saving her = save the planet, so ahdfaifsiubhwsdfiwebfiuwbf.
The Kazzoahasadhasda also suck, they kept getting in my way to save their planet.... YOUR ON THE EDGE OF THE GALAXY!!! IF I AM NOT WORTHY TO SAVE YOU, THEN HOW THE HELL IS ANYONE ELSE GOING TO FIND YOU?!!?!?.

Ya.... You save her after a bad effect explosion, she grabs your staff, you completely forget the planet is falling apart and your nemesis wasted a long time to die and come back to life (again, wtf) to have a awkward moment while Krystal (who was trapped in a crystal.. LOLWUT) actually tries to do something, in a retarded way.

You shot Andross in three spots for a while and he goes boom, and don't even get my started on Falco.
In the end, cliche' awkward love ish scene. oh ya, AND WTF HAPPENED TO KRYSTAL'S BACKSTORY?!?!?!?!

I could feel for Fox's smartassness and irritation, because I was feeling the same way.

Assault, This game was actually kind of cool, Krystal looks a bit more like a slut, which I disapprove of. The plot was better then Adventures, but STILL NO FUCKING KRYSTAL BACKSTORY!!!
In the end, it seemed to be a remake of Starfox 64 with the same style plot.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

I'm getting really sick of those cliche' deux ex machina deaths where they end up being alive. The panther dude deserves Krystal more then fox does IMO.

At least in this game the voice acting was more tolerable, and the gameplay was better. The plot was a bit better, had some good scenes, a few holes, but this game was better. WAAAAY better compared to adventures.

ADHD Version
64 was cool
Adventures sucked.... a lot
Assault was pretty good.

Starfox: Nice retro style game, not much plot, and Andross is a cube.
Starfox 2: I prefer to play this one over the first, mostly because I like strategy, and they had bases/dungeons. There was also a way to fly to a planet, land your ship, and walk around (not the person, but the aarwing, weird.).
Starfox 64: I grew up playing this, I thought it had very fun shoot-em up stages, but you are constantly annoyed by your teammates. "Get the guy behind me, Fox!", "Do a barrel roll!", "Hey Einstein, I'm on your side!", "Fox, get this guy off me!", annoying, they should make a Starfox where your teammates actually help, instead of diving right into the sun (which Slippy did one time). If anyone else who played Starfox 64 wants to know, me and my bro got a total score of 1920 one time.
Starfox Adventures: Never played it, seemed fun though.
Starfox Assault: It was much funner then Starfox 64, I found the ground missions and getting in and out of your vehicles to be my favorite part of the game. Other than that, it could have used more stages, more options, and better teammates, although they were less annoying, and dropped items for you from time to time.
Starfox Command: Never played it.

I really enjoyed the original games for the dog-fighting; if anything my main problem with StarFox: Adventures was that the actual Arwing battles sucked, and they're so far between that by the end battle you haven't had nearly enough practise, and I don't even remember being told how to do a barrel roll, yet suddenly it's required in order to survive. I liked the environments for Adventures, and it was fun to be able to actually wander around, but yeah, even for a kid's game it's too simplistic and badly voice-acted, with the puzzles being a mix of the same thing over and over, interspersed with the really vague. So it might seem strange, but adventures really isn't that great a game, but style and settings wise it's really good (and ideal for LoK of course ;)).

I haven't been able to play Starfox: Assault yet, I got Adventures for £5 or so but I've ending up having to save a search on eBay in the hopes of a copy of Assault appearing that's less than £30. So 'em, yeah, the Arwing is really where all the fun was, so while it was bold of Adventures to drop it almost entirely in favour of a third-person action/RPG style, it wasn't a brilliant decision; might have been better if the wandering sequences were just for hub-segments, connecting Arwing battles, with a few ground-only missions such as rescues and such.

Ok, so I went and saw "The Darkest Hour" as opposed to "The Sitter" with my girlfriend earlier and this is my review.
(She wanted to see this instead so meh)

The acting was cliche' but ok, the effects were pretty good, and the plot could be better.
I give it three stars, the plot could be better, but it was not as bad as other movies I've seen. The acting was also normal, nothing really bad to notice, but again, nothing good. The plot was also fine, it is a normal plot, with a normal situation for basic sci-fi horror movies, nothing complicated, so its not really that unbelievable. It did have a few surprises, and the ending was pretty good.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The movies starts out with facebook style young adults being millionaires due to some great business plan. They spend a few mill and go to Moscow, then get rejected. Ok ya, that's legit, shit happens. They go to a bar where one guy is like "fuck it" and the other is like "chill bro, I got this" then they meet some chicks using their product and have some fun (they also meet the douche who apologizes and says "its business"). Ok, ya, get drunk have fun, your life is ruined pretty much.

SURPRISE! buttsecks! no but really, power goes out, people see pretty lights, pretty lights kill them. Cliche' sci-fi crap, but I digest. In the confusion of people running getting killed "War of the Worlds" style, our 5 heroes make it into a storage room with a dead guy. After a few days they leave the room and look for survivors. Cliche' acting, some tears, some epic Russians kick ass, some guy makes a microwave gun that lowers the light's shield, revealing the alien inside allowing them to kill it.

Again, classic sci-fi stuff. They had some ok effects, human reaction is meh, they get out via military sub. Then using a radio they form a resistance across the world Terminator style. So ya, it was an ok movie, nothing new, but nothing really bad.

The problem with Starfox Adventures is it was never meant to be a starfox game in the first place...

I've saw the game Solatorobo: Red The Hunter the other day, and I can't find any good videos that wont spoil the game. I did a google search, found out Tail Concerto (the ordinal) pretty much sucks unless your 6.

IGN Wrote:Solatorobo is slow to get going, and neither the combat nor the puzzles are ever anything more than mildly challenging. But it's a true original, beautiful to look at, lovingly made, characterful and always ready to surprise you with some mad, bizarre new idea. In a world where almost every game is something we've seen before, there's a lot to love about it.

That is a review from IGN, I am tempted to get it, but I might be laughed at for getting a DS game, at that a furry one..... comments?

Krystal's game, starfox just invaded the game. It kind of pisses me off because, like I've said 50 other times, KRYSTAL'S BACKSTORY WAS NEVER HEARD FROM AGAIN! after the first scene....

Ok, Solatorobo: Red the Hunter....

I got it, played it, and so far I've only beaten half of it.
BUT! there are two story arcs. The first one, well.....
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

It sucks

Ayup.....

I keep hearing the 2nd one is better, so I'll do that tomorrow.

My problem with the first one is,
1. Nothing new, seems like another jRPG
2. Plot was crap, maybe you'd find an interesting quest here and there but the main plot is crap, nothing new.
3. Deus ex machina death..... These are starting to irritate me, if you kill a character, DONT FUCKING BRING HIM/HER BACK TO LIFE IN THE NEXT 5 MINUTES!! I mean really, even though I started to get a little attached to the characters (they actually did a good job at that, especially near the end), I knew that when this person died they were not really dead.... completely kills the buzz of the small amount of epic the scene was.
4. Pre-Last scene sucked..... I mean really, its old, cliche' and I am personally sick of it "omg, ultimate power from a guy who just wants it, summons some demon you have to kill"

Some good things,

1. Cute ass characters
2. Epic art
3. Actually got just a little attached to some of the characters, they are likable (unlike ratchet from the first game (ratchet and clank))
4. The very, very ending was actually good ish... that might just be the fact the rest of it sucked so much it looks better in comparison, but I thought the very end was good... and not just because it ended.

Time to go play the 2nd part.... after some sleep DX

You should try Dark cloud for the PS2.
The play doesn't get to kill the last boss in the sense of fighting the thing.

Star Fox (SNES):

Quite fun, but not so much as 64...possibly because I actually grew up with the N64 title, due to my family being too poor for an SNES when they were on the market. The gameplay does pretty well, though there are times when I could've sworn I had enough room, then some off-screen thing behind me just happens to graze my tailpipe, which is enough for full collision damage. Soundtrack is great, though most of the work seems to have been done on the Corneria theme...probably why VG music enthusiasts love it so much. :P The graphics, given the time it was made, are quite nicely done, and even have a few little "surprises" hidden in there...such as an ejecting enemy pilot, who suddenly realizes that he can't breathe in space.

Star Fox 64:

Definitely my favorite out of the bunch. It's a great model of what Star Fox is all about: no over-complicated story, no "urk, I'm dead, or am I?" plot-revivals, just straightforward, barrels-to-the-rolls action and things going sha-boom. That said, the soundtrack is one of the best I've heard from an N64 game (not counting the ones Rareware made, cuz Robin Beanland and Grant Kirkhope are in a class of their own), and I could hum the themes of Zoness, Katina, Corneria, Area 6, and even the Bolse Satellite for hours (though, that last one sometimes brings back memories of Slippy mic-spamming me with "Fox, get this guy off me!"...and yes, I shot him down in response  )

Fun Fact: If you earn a medal on Venom in Expert Mode (unlocked by getting all medals in Normal mode), you can actually play on-foot in multiplayer. Just thought I'd point that out for anyone who didn't already know.

Star Fox Adventures:

While certainly not phenomenal, I can actually play it and have fun (unless I don't have a turbo controller for that -BLEEP!-ing Musclefoot challenge...in which case, forget it)...don't ask me how, I just can. Not to mention that it had some memorable music tracks of its own, and Andross' "death-scream" face is...well...
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

...Priceless.

Star Fox Assault:

I gotta say this one's my second-favorite, purely because it brings us back to the SF64 format, but also adds onto what is already established (mostly the on-foot gameplay). The story mode is a bit short, for my tastes, but it's certainly fun enough to keep me coming back for more; there's always that new idea on how to improve your score, and (while the only reward is bragging rights) getting all those Gold medals keeps you looking for little changes in your formula, such as "what if I take down this big group of wimp-units before I tackle the small squad of heavies?" Though, I believe this game really shines in the multiplayer mode. For the competitive types, it's actually deeper than it seems, with little "techs" you can pull off to improve on your playing (the roll-drop with the grenades is one of my personal favorites), but it also has plenty of value for those who just want to have a fun, just-for-laughs shootout.

PS: You missed your chance with a Star Fox Wii title, Nintendo, but I'll forgive you if you at least give us one on the Wii-U...pretty please with a Mario-hat-shaped cherry on top? ;)

Because you hate Deus Ex Machina deaths...

Deus Ex.

JK, JK, that game has nothing to do with the cliche of "deus ex machina", but it is an early cyberpunk game. It was made back in 1995, so the graphics aren't good, but it's one of my favorites because of creative use of stealth, a non-OP main character, and that your actions and decisions influence the game flow significantly.

Solatorobo:
Hey! I have an idea! lets make a really cool furry game with a great storyline, great animation, and some cool robot combos, that is completely different and original which this world needs more of.

BUT! lets make a very cliche' game, make furries look bad by making it to animeish, have only one combo for a small boring robot, have very repetitive gameplay, and a smelly ass story as the entire first part.

perfect....

~~~
Solatorobo (the 2nd part) is pretty good.
