Nope. Count me out. My computer is too old for most Steam games, and most PC games after '05. Black ops tonight for me I guess.

I still haven't bought any PC games and my processor heats up way too much for me to want to play any right now. When my motherboard screwed up when I was building mine I moved the processor to the new one so it only has like half the thermal paste it's supposed to have, since the other half is attached to the dead motherboard. Whenever I play games like ARMA or the BF3 beta it would heat up to exactly 90 degrees C and I think 100+ is the kill range for an i5; so yea, there's my excuse. Could just buy the $12 paste I guess.....it's on my to do list.

I just got my new Alienware M14x a few days ago, I have no such issues. No regrets.

Eh, built mine for $850 and haven't had any issues that weren't my own fault and run everything great. Build your own and you can save yourself a couple hundred dollars. How much did that cost, just out of curiosity? Whenever I've seen Alienware mentioned people always say how it's overpriced and everything.

yeah, in some ways they are. If you're purely looking at the specs they're really overpriced. Although I think a good term for them is "luxury gaming computers," especially the laptops, since they often just have a lot of aesthetic additions (the light-up multicolor keyboard on mine is insanely interesting)
I got mine for $1020. The M14x has a base cost of $1200, I upgraded to the i7 processor for an extra $100, and after discounts it came to $1020.
You could easily build a better computer for less, but it's pretty much been a childhood dream of mine to have an Alienware. They're just so cool looking.

I'd go with my laptop any day. I use to play bad company on it. Anyways 3 years of abuse and over heating seems to have run it's toll and i'l going to have to repair if not replace it. That being said it's like 500$ now to buy my laptop so no as much of a big deal. It was priced at 1000$ when i got it.
