Zeratul IS one of the best damn Dark Templar there is. The Arbiter looks simliar to the Protoss. (At least some of them) And The Xel'Naga are the ones that are rumored to have made the Protoss AND the Zerg. For all you know, The Forerunners ARE the Xel'Naga!

Eh, personally, I still prefer the Metroid franchise as my own #1. There's something about how Samus has maintained her badassery for over 25 years - and NO, I'm not counting the criminal ass-trash that was Other M - despite all the odds stacked against her, that really appeals to me. Not to mention that she's done the work of Master Chief, the Arbiter, and every Starcraft hero COMBINED, and the vast majority of it is done without any backup forces.

When Zeratul takes down 6 globally-rooted military strongholds (Zebes x2, Tallon IV, Dark Aether, the Pirate Homeworld of Urtragia, and Phaaze), stops 3 different all-consuming forces from complete galactic saturation (Phazon, the Ing, and the X Parasites), gets a running kill-count of 5 on a persistently-resurrected space dragon of fuck-you-up (once again, Other M doesn't count), AND does all that with only 2 of those stronghold missions being joint-operative (namely, the Pirate Homeworld and Phaaze), THEN we'll talk. :P

Besides, unlike with the Protoss, Xel'Naga, or Sangheili, one can say Samus is hot without seeming like they have some..."intriguing" fetishes.

Well the same thing could be said about Samus. (When she utterly destroys a force so huge that all the known races have to band together just to have a miniscule chance of surviving, (Zerg) then we'll talk.) But I'll agreed wholeheartedly with everything else.
So while we're on the subject:

To be fair, the Phazon plague was pretty much just as you described the Zerg; it's just that instead of being too big for one race or faction to handle alone, it had already dominated one of the races (the Urtragians, i.e., the Prime-specific Space Pirate race), and the source of its corruption was located beyond what any surviving known race could reach. 'Course, ol' Sam cleaned that one up just fine, once she jacked one of the Pirates' Leviathan warships; yay, wormholes! But yeah, that's another thing I love about her: if sheer power won't get the job done, she's also very resourceful and clever.

Also, I find the 2nd pic far more fap-worthy, for 4 reasons:

1: Samus is the one in control, which lines up with her strong, independent personality. A bounty huntress like her doesn't just take it up the arse for anyone, and a Space Pirate would be lucky to even get a peek on her in the shower.
2: The obvious lack of the Zebesian from pic 1. Seriously, those things are fugly as a cardinal sin, and any that tried to rape Samus would just end up getting leg-grappled to the ground and castrated. The Pirates seem more interested in her armor anyhow, at least if the Prime trilogy's scan logs are anything to go by. :P
3: Can't really figure out why, but Krystal's jumpsuit and Samus's Zero Suit just..."fit" with each other. Both serve very well in accentuating their wearers' features, while at the same time not exposing too much...and no, I'm not counting those Zero Suit fetish pics, where you can see the friggin' rim of her nipples through the thing. XD
4: It's obviously just drawn a lot better.

Blasphemy! Master Chief is greater or equal to Samus. He defeated 8 alien races that were working together just to take out the humans. Then destroyed the Flood which were a lot worse than X parasites, not to mention three super-weapons capable of killing all life in the galaxy. And don't even get me started with the Promethians :P

Okay, I'll give you credit for this much: the Chief HAS done some really impressive stuff. Defeating the Covenant, Flood, and Prometheans is certainly no small feat. However...
Image
What the Chief often had marines and/or Elites backing him up on, Samus has done on her own. Sure, the unnamed soldiers that accompanied Mr. 117 were often reduced to mere diversions in the heat of battle, by comparison, but they were still there, and they still counted. In Ms. Aran's case, however, the whole of Zebes was pretty much out to get her, and the only help she got was from suit upgrades that just happened to be there; she also had to fight through numerous rooms of enemies between each upgrade, as well.

In fact, the only Metroid game where Samus has any kind of fire support in combat was in Metroid Prime 3 (once again, Other M does NOT count), and as I recall, it was more like she had to babysit them, instead of them being allies of any similar usefulness. Hell, I honestly found the GF ground troopers almost entirely useless, and if the game didn't force me to keep at least 4 Demolition Troopers alive, Samus would've done better going all "fuck that, I can do this shit myself." Seriously, I'm sure she could've done it by her lonesome just as well; she's a resourceful lady like that. XD

Anyhow, I recommend we not get into ye olde "Master Chief vs Samus" debate, and just drop this one here. I'm sure you know as well as I do that such debates rarely, if ever end well. :P

I often find myself thinking that most people are utter shite. I try to be positive and prove myself wrong. So far I've yet to succeed in doing so.

If I recall. Super Metroid, she was taught to wall jump by three little green ape things, taught to speed run by a green ostrich. In Fusion she had the orders from ADAM the computer, had help from the same creatures from super, as well as the medical crew that saved her life. In Zero she was saved by the chozo. Metroid Prime 2 there were the marines that died before she came but recorded knowledge for her. ^_~ not to mention the whole chozo saving her time and time again with messages and upgrades. That being said, I agree with the spirit of what you were saying, Samus Aran is indeed the most bad-ass.

dammit thae! you nearly got my hopes up :(

Owning all the halo games but one (halo wars), i consider myself a halo fan. Samus seems legit but i haven't played the games :/ (soo... Chief is still more awesome for me :D )

also, about the marines helping... I only use them as weapon carriers or human shields XD, then I pull out my gun and headshot all the grunt (simply because I like the confetti ^^ )

almost forgott!

Truth be told, they pretty much would. It's one of those "X vs Y" debates where I just feel like saying: "Guys, let's face it: if Samus and the Chief met, they wouldn't fight each other. They'd just start shooting at whatever sneaky bastards tried to rig them into fighting, and blow them all away."

It's kinda like how I feel about the classic "Mario vs Sonic" business. I see less of the Olympic Games/Smash Bros kind of thing between them, and more like what we would've seen in Super Mario Bros Z, had Alvin continued it. Y'know, stuff like this:

Never said halo sucked, had many a fun moment of playing it at my friend's mansion in high-school, we would have like 8 of us sitting there with the linked xboxes. Good times. As for halo wars, the thing I liked about that game was it's sound track. For a console rp it wasn't bad at all, though my favorite rts game being CoH on the PC, it's easy to see why I was left wanting more.

.... flood.... stronger than the X parasite... HAHAHAHHA. I've played like two Metroid games and Samus can save my butt any day. Why? Well theres thing about a women who can kill a a mother fucking spider and a more powerful version of herself.

What has Master chief done? I he's basically killed zombies, aliens, and just shoot stuff. Samus had suicide missions that prevent her from destroying a space station with a living suit that is more powerful than her and filled with creatures that would love to tear her a new one. What has the chief done? Magically destroyed 2 alien space ships? I think once was done totally by his AI partner.

1st off: Samus was technically as powerful as the SA-X by the time she actually fought it. The reason you avoid it up until then is because you have nothing that can damage it until that point. Still, Dark Samus was technically Metroid Prime copying her DNA, and using super-powered versions of her attacks, so yeah, she has technically defeated a more powerful version of herself.

2nd: If you think Yakuza (the spider boss) from Fusion was an achievement, I've got one word for you:
QUADRAXIS.
Image

This motherfucker has most players scared before the fight even starts, cuz you see his dormant self sitting in the boss arena as you ride the elevator down, and you can't help but think: "Oh shit. I have to fight THAT?!"

Let's not forget that Quadraxis is one HUGE boss, and takes up 3/4ths of the whole arena with his legspan. He also has a multitude of weapons to fuck your shit up with: missiles, Annihilator Beam cannons, shockwave projectors on his feet, and the ability to suck you in with a spinning gravity well attack, just to name a few...and that's all in just his FIRST phase. The second phase has his head moving around taking pot-shots at you and spawning Dark Quad enemies, and the only reason its body no longer attacks is because you K.O.'d it in Phase 1. Third phase has its Dark Quad spawner disabled, but shooting it no longer does jack shit. You have to Boost Ball your way onto its dome, and lay the coup de grace by literally planting a bomb in each of its...ears, I guess?

Anyhow, Quadraxis is what I see as an ideal "sweet Jesus, this guy's huge" boss. He has a lot of firepower, a lot of heavy defense, gargantuan size, and tests every ability you have at that point in the game. Defeating him requires your wits to be as quick as your fingers...and some luck too, if you happen to be playing on Hard difficulty (or Hypermode, if you're playing on the Wii's Trilogy collection disk). As the cherry on top of the sundae, your reward for besting him is the strongest of the beam weapons: the light-and-dark-fusing Annihilator Beam.
