Hmm, if the quantity of threads currently allowed per role-play is becoming an issue then one alternative could be to have a separate out-of-character Roleplay sub-forum, where role-plays can have any number of threads, which they then link to from the main, in-character thread. It wouldn't matter so much if an out-of-character sub-forum is messy, so long as it's not disrupting actual role-play, and people can get to the out of character threads that they need to. Obviously it'd still be within reason (no threads per-character or whatever), but maybe it'd make things easier? This way a role-play would only have a single thread in the main role-play forum.

On the issue of banning; I prefer to avoid banning users as much as possible so don't worry, only obvious spammers, advertising bots etc. get banned out-of-hand, everyone else gets fair warning first. People have asked in the past, but if I were ban happy then trunks2585 would have been out ages ago, but as it is I'm happy for him to still be here; as annoying as it can be to be called up on things all the time, it's not long I don't deserve some of it :)

Well, its great to know that Renara. Also that OOC subforum seems a nice idea.

Also can we have an archieve for finished roleplays?

I don't know if it will help, but in one forum I was co-admin on that was about 80% roleplay, we had a section specifically for old threads that had been locked due to no longer being used, or parent threads that had reached 1000 posts and had been split from, or similar stuff. Basically, non-active or old RP threads (prety much Raven's idea). Basically, myself or Black Arachnis (the board owner) would just shift relevent threads through to there and make sure that they were locked to that they could still be viewed, just not changed. And, if it was an active RP, we would split off the last 10 posts to make the new thread, before putting the old one there
One way, or another, I'm going to find you, I'll get you, I'll get you!

Why?
Do we really need to have a sub forum for dead threads. it people want to find it they can dig though pages of threads.
I mean the options seem to be A) dig through old thread in RP section. B) Dig through old threads in Archived RP section.

Can some one please explain the logic in make the mods (Taria) work harder.

To have an organized forum. Alive or uncompleted ones are easly accessed.

Raven, could you quit complaining about me when I haven't even done anything yet? I'm not going to ban you just because you act like a contemptuous ass to me all the time.

I think I agree with Bluelight on that one, as there's no real difference between a locked thread in an "archive" forum, and a locked thread lower down the page in the main forum, as it'll just get bumped away by active threads soon enough. Roleplay creators should already be locking old threads any time they create a new one as a continuation, since thread-creators can lock their own threads (or at least they're supposed to be able to, I can't remember if I actually tested it), and that'll cause them to drop away soon enough, otherwise a moderator can do it to prevent it being bumped once it's finished.

I suppose an archive can distinguish between finished threads, and threads that have simply gone inactive, but after a while the archive would soon be cluttered enough that it wouldn't be much easier to search or browse through anyway.

I'm just bumping this to note that the [spoiler] tags now only show and hide when you click the actual "Spoiler (click to show/hide)" text; clicking anywhere else won't do anything. Hopefully this makes it easier for people to copy/paste and just generally work with things inside spoiler tags, thanks to Bluelight for the suggestion!
