Black ops is pretty sexy, they need to get Treyarch to fix the dam PS3 server connectivity issues though, I'm kinda paranoid in thinking they are doing it deliberately to sabotage the franchise. On a side note, my friend got Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 on the PS3 today, and it Kicks serious amounts of ass so far. Think I'm gonna get myself a copy soon.

I'll do you one better...I still play KOTOR 1 & 2 and ME 1 & 2 for their ability to tell a compelling story. Played the shit out of RDD, did a few levels of MoH, and i have yet to play FO: NV -- waiting for the "We'll fix the game the way it should have been at launch" patch to finally arrive. Ever since Microsoft decided to go the way of Mr. Burns type evil do-ing and took away Multiplayer for silver / "free" accounts and raised the Sub fee to 60 bucks, the only reason I'd play reach would be for Single player / Co-Op. I remember a time when Gold meant you got to use FB on your Xbox and listen to a cool radio station...oh but wait! , I can listen to Pandora for free and use FB on my computer, how convenient! Microsoft has always been "the bad guy" but you cant really realize the lengths they will go to so that they can reach in your wallet and take your money, that's unless you're like me and the cost outweighs being able to do practically anything other than be a loner and play Single-player.

I would have to diplomatically disagree my friend. I would say that halo 1 is the best halo game ever created.

I read somewhere that Halo 1 *might* be being remade by 343. And so now i'm imagining the top of the control room pyramid but with twice the enemies due the the awesomeness of the Reach engine! O_O

anyone that remakes halo needs to be fucking slapped. The game wasn't made that long ago, it doesn't need to be touched, and remaking it would serve to prove that 1. FPS are a fucking cancer if out of all the things that could be remade, they pick an FPS from last gen that pretty much kicked off this multiplayer over the internet on a consol craze, and 2. that game companies have no souls and all they see are dollar signs anymore.

Creative energy is better spent than remaking an fps that came out a few years ago. And for the record I do like the halo series, but doing anything with it beyond reach would be tasteless right now and just trying to beat every last dollar out of the cash pinatta it is, until it's busted, destroyed, and unlovable anymore.

Well there's unfortunately no way to stop Microsoft from making more Halo games, so I'm hoping that the worst they do is re-release an old one with some new textures

Dead space 2 at the end of January anyone?

I heard nothing but great things about Dead Space, and I still haven't gotten around to playing it. Haldor, where does it land on a scale of 1-10? Also, is it frightening?

I'd rate it about 9, it's my favourite horror game.

It certainly builds an atmosphere, there are many events that are just disturbing instead of outright scary, but there are certainly some points where it made me jump. More frequent are the parts that are just plain awesome, like the coming out of lighspeed effect at the start of the game, and the RIG system that replaces in-game menus with Isaac's own HUD that you can physically see in front of him.

I think it's one of those games that's scary if you let it be scary , I just hope they haven't somehow messed it up in the second one

Speaking of scary games, has anyone here yet stumbled on the series of Silent Hill?
1-3 were the best, with 2nd being in 1st place. 4th was ok but just plain weird. Last one could have been good if it was more scary.

I LPed silent hill 2. people got kinda pissed that i didn't do it as a full blind run because i'd never played it before. A more recent scary game i've heard about is amnesia the dark decent.

Oh it's quite good, although there comes a time when the opponents get a bit tedious, but Amnesia is an awesome game... not really repleyable, but freaking scary. Other people say it's a lot like some game called 'Penumbra'.

ADD is squeeze your eyes shut tight and piss your fucking pants scary, the kind of mind numbing fear you press the Reboot button on your Tower for. Whereas Dead Space goes the way of Doom 3 jump out of the vent surprises (front and behind) that make you quickly fumble to purposefully drop the controller because it might decide to bite you type scurrs. ADD will always win over DS in scare tactics but that doesn't mean DS is any less of a good game.

agreed, just because something makes you jump, doesn't mean it was scary, just surprising. Both do pull of that creepy atmosphere though, and the atmosphere of the game you are in, is just as important as the monsters out to get you. Also, monsters loose a little bit of the scaryness to them, when you just need a gun to take them down, where some guys like pyramid head CAN'T BE STOPPED, and THAT is true terror.

Oh Pyramid Head... A bit awkward at first, but probably the best character in the whole series, both in appearance and story.
