So Maximilianos was like " I WANNA BUILD BATTLE SHIPS I WANNA BUILD BATTLE SHIPS" and one of our new players was like "Cannons, cannons, cannons" so then I said TNT cannons on boats? They both agreed then maxi ran away to sleep. Me and new guy tested cannons (sorry max, we didn't realize that desert was your home, your home is safe (was under our cannon) but the desert is gone.
So after about 3 hours of cannon playing we made the most compact beautiful cannon, mine shoots maybe 40 blocks far? His sniper cannon shoots like 200 block away.
This was my design for multiple firing cannons, which is what my ship ended up being designed around.
They are a bit more compact than that in the end, measuring 7x6x5 each. Which is pretty small for tnt cannons. Mind you first time ever playing with tnt cannons.
So then we tried to decide how to mount stuff on our boats. Couldn't agree so he challenged me to a ship building contest, centered around old ships of the sea. Mine is based on the french sloop/glisseurs. He probably doesn't know I was a sailor for a long time not to mention I love building ships. In the end I went with the 4 cannon design, wired in a line. All I got to do now is finish off the sails, finish off the lowest deck (and the water for one side of the ship's cannons). Then after that I can round out the outside of the hull using steps, add a better prow, add till, and then im good to fight him later on water. It has 8 cannons total, 4 per side.
Some timelapses, very much wip without any real decoration yet;
@Maxi, try not to touch anything, last thing I want is for this to blow up while fighting thegothkid on the water. We build on top of your house by accident, the metal replica of a ship section in iron you can destroy. I will teach you how to make a tnt cannon monday or tuesday, but after that I won't know since I am out of the country for a while. Enjoy folks, when we actually fight out on the water I will record it.
