I'm getting an Alienware M14x soon, until then I have a laptop whose videocard can just barely support Solitaire, so no demos for now. I'm basically searching for games to get when I have a computer that will run them, so i have new games to play instead of games I used to play.

Yeah, Steam doesn't have a great variety or horror games. And I mostly play horror games on consoles as well, there just doesn't seem to be many horror games in general, none that are "revolutionary" anyway. They're mostly creepy puzzle games (Amnesia) or games that try to call themselves "horror" but fail horribly (Resident Evil 5, F.E.A.R., etc.). Call me a fruitful bastard, but I want to find a game with an "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" atmosphere with a sort of "Half-Life" or "Dead Space" gameplay.

Never finished either of the other Mass Effects. I think the layout of the game just wasn't appealing. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was a damn great game, but I think the way Mass Effect plays made me lose interest. The story is still pretty good though, my brother is a diehard Mass Effect fan so I still get to enjoy that much XD

First off how dare you not call my RE5 not horror. I got fucking "knock off"\"retarded wannabe zombies" in a co-op setting with no scary scene what so ever... wait DAMMIT!...

So a game I would tell you to buy just because i love city building games that don't act all high and might is tropico 4. You can get all 4 games on steam.
1 was great, 2 was stupid if you ask me, 3 updated 1 with some of the elements of 2 and changed from a 2D to a 3D engine, 4 really can't say much about it since my laptop can't play anything at this time but it looks to be a spit and polished up version of 3(Whats funny is i'm hearing a lot of the same lines from 3 in 4 done by the same voice actor and it sounds totally different when the guy tries to sounds serious.)

So i tried Mass Effect 1 and didn't like it. The load times for some of the stuff made me think that the game had crash and at other times made me think it didn't crash when it did and by the time i got to the first planet enough stuff annoyed my that i quit on it.

I've heard good things about Tropico, I never really looked into it. Is there a "free build" mode? I prefer sandbox over simulation because i think overcomplication takes the fun out of a city game.

I never witnessed load times issues with the first one, maybe you got a defective copy or something stupid like that?
And yeah, stuff just tends to annoy me in it. I wish they actually made a direct sequel to KOTOR. I'm not an MMO fan.

In response to the dude's post: The art direction, (I support saying 'fuck this over the top realism crap we'll go with what WE like, not what the fans wanted, last time we gave them what they wanted, they bitched anyways') I can appreciate the cell shaded look, it keeps zelda bright and colorful, but we have adult characters this time with realistic proportions rather than going full cartoony. The story is an origin kind of story and the big bad from what they've said is not going to be Ganon, that's a nice change of pace. The use of sprinting through areas, and trying to utilize the Wiimote more than Twilight Princess did (since TP was made for the gamecube anyways and they ported it to the Wii to boost sales.) Other things they've mentioned like having a 'hub area' simular to what they did with clock town in Majora's Mask. From what they said MM was a source of inspiration for quite a few things in this game which i can support, MM is already considered better than OoT for some, and I'd like it a lot more if they just had more dungeons in that game.

I actually liked the cell shading in wind waker, but on here it just looks out of place for some reason, probably just seems too bright in the areas they've shown; that and the design of the bull-type enemy I've seen in it just looks stupid. If that's true it's going to be something like MM I might actually buy it. Haven't even touched the wii in awhile.

Same. The only use i'v had was play racing games that get so butchered on the wii.

I'm not even going to keep track of the new need for speed.

So i'm personally not looking forward to BF3 but thats because i don't have a computer that i think can play it. besides i don't want to fork out the cash for it.
skyrim i'm sorta in to but i'm likely to wait for the game of the year edition and price drops because i don't want to fork over the cash and because i want some mods for it.

Not sure if I'll even be able to get BF3 next week :\ Anyway thought I'd drop off the multiplayer trailer they released yesterday showing all the maps and destruction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRqfFfuV ... ideo_title

Skyrim looks interesting, just doesn't seem like a game I'd enjoy. Need a gun in anything I play lol. Bluelight wouldn't it be like late 2012 or something before they publish a game of the year version?

Damn your right. That means i will either have to buy the normal version in 2012 and buy the DLC out side the box or buy the game of the year edition in 2013...
Well what ever. Doesn't change my buying habits.
I want the game but i don't want to buy it at 60$.
I still haven't bought starcraft2 for the same reason.

SKYRIM!!! Soooooo exited, I'm a huge elder scrolls fan and have been really worked up about it for months now. Any-one remember the first trailer they did? The one with some old dude doing a voice-over and some footage of a wall? This is how I, my brother and my friend Jesus reacted (I'm not religious, people just call him Jesus, he's a real person I swear. I'm NOT crazy).

SKYRIM, FUCK YUSH! And of course, Battlefield 3, which is possibly a more anticipated game that MW3. It seems CoD fans are finally growing a brain. No disrespect to any of you, if you happen to be CoD fans, but quite frankly, the gaming community of that game is pretty much just disrespectful teenagers with a fucking attitude problem, and a god damn cursing problem, and piss-poor skills.

I'm sick of the FPS flood in general, or as Yatzee calls it "shooter season 2011"

Some how that reminds me of Duke nukem:Forever.
BTW the game play of that doesn't look at that great.

as for trunks comment.
I personally agree with you trunks and I'm tire of being bombarded with FPS that i just as hell don't want to play. I enjoy games that incorporate FPS features but add twist to it.
So few support modding, have anything interesting, or just plain make me want to hand over my wallet (lets not forget i need repairs of my laptop)
I have a list of the ones i'm likely to buy and here it is.

Mount and blade :fire and sword (I think. the one made after warband)
Crysis 2 (I personally am looking forward to playing this and scared. FarCry 2 didn't help)
BF3 (BF2 was great when i switched over from Vietnam and i'm hoping for the same thing going from BFBC2 to BF3. Besides it's a father son thing to shoot eachother in battle field games)
TES:Skyrim (I love mod able games and well it will give me a few laugh if there are bugs... I NEED BUGS MAN!!!)
Half life 2:ep 3 (because i bug valve games because they rock. stupid yes but they beat other pieces of crap i could be buying.)

That being said most of those add something new or old to the genra that nobody elses really does or does well. (okay complete bullshit for crysis 2 but i still want to play it)

That being said if it aint a FPS i'm more than likely going to spend big bucks on it.
I spent I believe 40$ on the complete tropico pack not because i wanted all the games but because i wanted tropico 4 and if i was going to fork out the money i might as well get all the games on steam. I rebought like 3 games i already own.
I also spent 20$ on Xcom because i bought Terror from the deep(Xcom2) when they first had it then another 15$ on the whole game pack for basically Xcom UFO and for other games i might like.

Spending the 14$ on minecraft was easy not that i play it much anymore but i'm glad i did.

Note to self. Goto bed. I'm not even sure what i said makes any sense.
