I've been thinking of making this thread for a while, and now I have. So if you want to share a recipe or tell everyone about a beer, brewery, other alcoholic drink, or alcohol related story, this is the place! I'll start.
So, I recently went to a microbrewery near Lafayette, New Jersey called
Angry Erik Brewing, and they have some pretty good stuff (even though they only have three beers currently). The owner/founders (Erik and Heide Hassing) use cardamom in the porter, which they found out a little late is the THIRD MOST EXPENSIVE SPICE IN THE WORLD. It's damn worth it though. They also make a West-coast style IPA, but I personally liked the amber ale (Ravøl) best.
And from an article about the opening day,
"In true Scandinavian fashion, it snowed on the grand opening of Lafayette’s Angry Erik Brewing.
A lot.
That didn’t stop hundreds of curious patrons from stopping by during the Feb. 15 event. Angry Erik Brewing opened its doors to the public for the first time and offered up a taste of their first two beers." 500 people (as i heard from Erik). Only about 70 permitted in the premises (small section of a warehouse) at a time. A lot of snow. Fucks given = zero.
