Well... she is a monstergirl, likely born and raised entirely on this island, expecting her to have any idea about the wider world beyond the existence of humans is probably stretching it. "Ah, I believe you use the term miles? It's several dozen miles across, roughly circular, mostly a mixture of cliffs and beaches on the edges, but a wildly diverse climate, favoring tropical. If there's a volcano in the middle, it's news to me, and there are occasional storms, but we live in the ground. Species wise, it's mostly a mixture of monster girls, I believe that's what you call us?, and various prey species like hogs and such, although they're not as important. Is that enough for you?" Her knowledge seems... sketchy, and you're not sure how much you trust, not that she seems to be lying, but that much of her knowledge seems to be second or third hand.

She seems to huff at that, and you recall that ants and termites and such are known for their large colonies, similar to cities, and you suppose it would be reasonable if a humanoid with the essence of other creatures that build massive structures would do so themselves.

"Yeah well ant's aren't known for their borders are they?" I retort, "I'm focused on someone who can do power projection rather then just build a massive structure. Besides vehicles would be an interest as well." Still I'm getting a good idea of the situation I'm stuck in... Namely I'm completely fucked. This is an island I've never heard of, meaning neither has my father or anyone who would have any care to rescue me. There is no means of producing a vessel capable of seafaring regardless of whether or not I can manage to navigate it. And let's not forget the primary inhabitant seems to be something that would consider me a prey animal. Best stick with this one, at least for now. This isn't a matter of the devil I know, but rather there is no guarantee that the next monster girl I met is even willing to talk to me and just eat me or whatever they have planned. Sighing, I continue, "It seems that I will be staying her for the foreseeable future, so it seems like we should move onto a... agreement."

She wilts slightly at that, turning a bit introspective. "Of course, if you do find a larger hive, what would you have to offer them? My own is... sparse of males, but a larger hive will not be, removing whatever bargaining power you do have. What terms would you have in your deal?" She continues on.

That does bring up the interesting question of how much biology would be more easily understood since you can just ask variant species about the issue.

I wave off her retort. Their 'borders' are not the same as ours. A human borders is the area they clear from any monster making it a safe ground, rather the lands they are willing to forage. They don't project their power, only defend their hives, so they can be said to own the land. It's hardly the same principle. "I am a lord. Controlling a fiefdom is profession. I am willing to offer this specialty in exchange for autonomy and resources."

I mean how many people will just tell you flat out wrong stuff about their body/condition because they 'know it better then doctors.' It might help with some shit but the average person is never a reliable source of scientific information.

Also, how much actual control do you actually want over this base/colony? Are we following the nest/structure model where he breeds a subqueen/controller for the building he wants and then the building is 'autonomous' from there? I recall discussing it, but not what we decided.

Also also, were we doing duplex reproduction where she carries a 'smart/leader/variant' in a humanoid womb and then can lay eggs in bulk for specific purpose followers?

I pause at that. I'm already engaged and it would be a gross violation to sleep with anyone else... and I don't think them being monster girls would make it any better... Grand strategy level I'm thinking. More assigning resources rather then actually microing them. I'm thinking buildings should have a permanent passive bonus or provides an assignment or something of that nature. For example they could build a farm which allows workers to produce food without risking them to predators, or a granary or some food handling building which reduces food consumption by like 5%.

*Shrug* Don't know man, I don't think we decided that. I don't even remember discussing it.

That makes sense, and is what I was planning. Just wanted to make sure we're on the same page. Did we want to have expanding classes/abilities for the bug girls, or do you want to be forced to acquire new races?

Hm, I may be getting mixed up with a different RP, I know I did one with Kuragari that featured a drider princess, and I think the cameltaur girl had two wombs? If your character would be grossed out by a pussy on a bug butt, we can include an internal shunt.

Basic division:

Royalty: duplex wombs, one in the 'human' part and one in the 'bug' part. Human part can produce single nobles as needed, and in any variety. Bug part can produce any 'drone' variant in bulk as eggs as needed. My assumption is you have no interest in ovipositing? Of course, if you are, we could probably do some kind of experimental adaptation thing where she squirts an egg into a monster girl, PC seeds her, and then the egg grows and is laid with traits of the monster girl? Again, I don't know how far you want to go into mega-manning monster girl traits.

Nobles/Commanders: duplex wombs: human part that allows them to reproduce their own breed or subvariants. Bug part can bulk produce eggs of drones for their purpose. IE: a scout can produce more scout nobles or scout drones, but can't produce warriors. Can be forced to produce a royal from her humanoid womb.

Drones: single womb, in the human part and only allows for the production of more drones in small batches. Can be promoted to a noble if desired. Otherwise, specific purpose drones are assigned to a noble who controls them.

It's not... unheard of for a nobleman such as yourself to have concubines, so this should fall under that, right? The thought of your fiance being missing and possibly hurt makes you want to have this bug girl send out scouts for her... but that would probably both reveal your location and get a bunch of assets killed. And you barely understand what assets you do have now.

At your suggestion that you're not an on call seed supplier, she thinks for a moment but nods, mentioning: "if our numbers are to expand, you will need to provide seed." But she otherwise accepts your demands bowing slightly and pointing to you with her antennae.

I think new abilities should be tied to equipment or races. I.E. they could get the ability to harvest some rare flowers that grow on cliff sides if they manufacture spelunking equipment.

Yes we had the cameltaur with two wombs, but I imagine that the character would be... hesitant to do so, so I think an internal shunt would be better.

As for the breeding, I think that drones might be infertile unless 'awoken' to noble status as why would the bugs have drones breed with the males when they have the royals and nobles for that?

Certainly I need to scout the island for any other survivors but getting my resources killed isn't going to help anything.

So, do we want a trainer class that teaches worker drones how to use tools? And do we want selectable traits so you can build a variant? Internal shunt it is. Usually, the drones could only reproduce one at a time, but if you'd rather have them be infertile, that works too. It's how I was going to slow down smart bug production.
