C:7

A: 6
L: 3

Equipment: Lasgun, Standard Sabre, Carapace Armor, Flame Pistol w/ Spare fuel, Lasgun charger, Servoskull.

As much map as you've gotten, as it possesses little more than you've already seen. At least you won't have to memorize all of these twists and turns, the three dimensional translucent map's easily understood. Surveying it, and what little the skull could see beyond what your own eyes picked up. Letting the servoskull take the lead and head out, you follow closely behind, keeping an eye open for anything dangerous. (P:4+4+1(Severoskull)) The skull floats ahead of you, looking around at everything before moving on and your own attention strays to anything it seems to spend time on. A crumbling sound from behind you causes you to spin around, and this time, instead of giant spiders, there's some kind of rocky creature scuttling about, having blocked your way to retreat and menacing you with an overhead tail.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Hm, do we have the servoskull map update after a gameover, or have it restored to the original position? Giant monster scorpions sound fun. Maybe with something else instead of stingers?

Also, any requests for companions, race, gender, anything of the sort?

Eyes widening, Sadria backed away from the creature as quickly as she dared, and let loose with the hand flamer, letting flames come roaring out as she sought to end the fight before it could begin, and totally not because she now had a flame thrower!

"Keep behind me and watch for any attacks from the front!" she'd order the servo skull, hopefully it wouldn't go wandering off during this, but the sister was confident that this would be over with in a moment!

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Dick scorpions, my god. Also I'm not sure at the moment, I'm fairly open to most anything so whatever you'd prefer to throw at me that'd make sense will be fine, though if it's a nonhuman she'll probably need some sort of justification to not kill them.

(P:8+4)

Turning the Emperors holy flames on the foul beast, you're rewarded with a hiss of pain as it backs up, seeking to cover itself in dirt to try and put the flames out. The creature is much more cautious now, and holds one of its massive claws in front of it, angled and covered in dirt and rock to act as primitive ablative armor.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

So, I usually give opponents about three bad (from their perspective) rolls before they die. That means ol' dick scorpy here has another two bad rolls to die, or a particularly good roll.

Hm, an orc interested in hearing about this Emperor of hers, an elf that isn't trying to seduce everything around her, maybe an actual angel of some kind? Could be anything really. Maybe just temporary traveling companions, I don't think companions and the save point system will work that well together.

Sadria was glad that she'd put it on the defensive, and that fire worked on it, but it was most likely that she'd have to figure out some way to bait this thing into lowering it's guard if she wished to fatally wound it. Perhaps she could slip into a crevice that the monster would find difficult to get into without exposing itself, allowing her to stab it with her sabre?

"Servo skull, find me a thin side passage slightly larger than myself, that I can get into!" she'd order, keeping her hand flamer trained on the beast in case it tried to charge her, if it did, she'd blast it with flames again to keep it at bay until she was in a stronger position!

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Alrighty, is that the same way the PC works too then? Was wondering since hitpoints don't seem to be a thing.
Yeah, it'd be cool to have them be kinda like contacts too, people she could get a hold of or help/be helped by on occasion while they're doing their own thing. An Ork who's got a thing for the Emperor sounds pretty funny too. The Great Golden Dakka.

(S:Natural 20! Dammit, I need to find less bribeable dice)

You manage to find the crack you're looking for, ducking into it and readying your weapon for it. When its claws and tail fail to get any kind of purchase on the hole to get to you, it aligns its eyes and face parts up with the hole to try and get a look at you. It never really gets much of a chance, as your sword is ready and waiting when it lines up, and you skewer its brain. Killing the foul creature causes it to thump to the ground as you find your way back out of the crevice. The servoskull maintains watch as you inspect the strange enemy. Different than anything you've heard of, it mostly resembles a scorpion, although the stinger seems modified. Unlike the spider from before, there's pretty good chunks on it, and you hesitate, thinking about the fact that so far, the only organic material you've found is 'spider' and 'scorpion'. You'd really rather not eat these corpses, but you can't operate purely on will power.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Normally, I'd give you up to however many Endurance you have (in this case, it would be seven). I find three rolls is about how long combat can last before it gets really boring since it's basically just me rolling a die.

Sure. Probably have Sadria pass out at some point, rescued by an orc, and wake up to find him nursing her back to health. He heard Sadria whispering prayers and such to the Emperor and thought he sounded interesting.

Sadria finds herself chewing on the inside of her cheek, a bad habit from childhood that had never fully gone out. She might not be hungry now, but she couldn't deny that she'd need at least some sort of source of protein and water relatively soon if she was to keep going through these caverns and fight through monsters and obstacles. Still, was it wise to eat this... thing? For one, she didn't have a good way to make a fire. Sure her flamer could technically cook it, but that was due to the promethium, and odds were good that it wasn't really fit for human consumption, and she didn't know for certain if this creature was toxic or had parasites or diseases, or even worse, warp taint and mutation. Eating it could cause more problems for her in the long run that going without food a while longer would.

Still, the odd organ located where a regular scorpion's stinger would be was interesting, maybe it could be studied? She decided she'd at least take that, and opted to saw it off and move on, careful not to get it's fluid on any skin she might have revealed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

IIRC, Promethium is supposed to be either hydrogen or methane gas, both of which are safe to use for cooking purposes. Also, I recall mentioning being stuffed full of spider eggs as a bad ending you were cool with, but is oviposition something you're want? Something like this: https://rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post& ... id=3734010

Cutting at the creature, you find a few tubules leading back further into the tail, probably some kind of venom sacks. It doesn't take long before you've chopped out the mess of various organs and set them aside, making sure not to burst the probable venom sacks. Still, it's disgusting messy work, and the little pouch hanging off your back is soon filled with it. Fortunately, it's made of Emperor blessed cloth, so simply turning it inside out and washing it will get rid of any thing clinging to it. The creature's carapace isn't bad, but your own emperor blessed armor is obviously superior to any lesser materials you'll find about.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Oh alright, I thought it was like the chemical promethium somehow. Dunno much about it but I know it's radioactive, but yeah, oviposition's cool. It's not something I'm super into but it's alright.

Satisfied with her work, Sadria nodded to herself and gave the order to continue on to the servo skull, they had an exit to find, or at least something safer to eat and/or drink.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

There is, but the way promethium is usually mentioned, it could be a generic fuel gas, a napalm, or something mildly radioactive. They're deliberately vague on that front. Alright, I'll keep any oviposition scenes shorter then.

(Encounter:2)

Pursuing further into the same line, you find your mind almost beginning to wander again, which is interrupted by the sudden presence of two creatures behind you, rocks and dirt tumbling indicating that you walked into an ambush. Your servoskull decides now is the perfect time to alert you that it has found xeno monsters, beeping at you wildly. There's two of the scorpion things back the way you came, and a scuffling sound from the direction you were heading indicates that there's at least one more of the damned things, making a minimum of three.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Yeah, GW does like to be vague on the weirdest stuff. I guess in the big picture it doesn't matter too much in the overall setting so they just let the individual players decide. You can make it as long or short as you like my guy, it's as much your rodeo as it is mine, I can roll with pretty much anything that isn't snuff or someone gettin' shit and pissed on so if you're into it, have at it.

Sadria cursed her luck and the servo skull's inattentiveness, it was twice now that it had failed her in detecting enemies! Resisting the urge to be distracted by the redundant warnings it was giving, she decided that perhaps discretion would be the better part of valor, and quickly raised her flamer to fire off a jet of promethium to stall the beasts before turning and retreating down the tunnel! "Follow me, if you're too slow I'll leave you to them!" she'd yell at the servitor. If it couldn't catch up, she'd leave it to the scorpions, maybe it'd actually be somewhat useful then!

I have a few others I can slip my minor oviposition fetish into. I'm not wanting.

(A: 6+6) The servoskull floats after you, and you notice that the Emperor blasted thing manages to follow that instruction pretty well. The scorpion in front of you squeals as you dart past it, but the passage doesn't offer any sharp neck downs or other tactically useful formations, but at least all of the monsters are to one side of you now. You could continue trying to run past them, hoping your luck holds, you could turn and fight, or you could think of something else to try.

Now that she had them both on one end, Sadria would turn back towards the beasts. She didn't necessarily need to kill them, perhaps she could just wound one of them badly enough to slow it down and get it in the way of it's friend, thereby making it easier for her to get away?

Raising her sword, she'd swing it sideways, attempting to chop into the closest monster's leg. It might be a risky move, but she was banking on her luck holding out just a little longer.

(S:13+6)

Turning quickly, you manage to slash at one of them, and it hits the ground with a thump, struggling to drag itself about with the wound. The other two scorpions seem to start trying to edge around their wounded comrade, but you've bought yourself enough time for another tactic if you need it.

It's a shame that Sadria hadn't found any grenades, this would be a perfect time for one, but ah well. Moving quickly, she'd swing her hand flamer from one side to the other as she withdrew, looking to both cover the wounded one in flames and scare the others, a vicious grin on the sister's face as she held her sabre aloft, ready to strike out at them if they managed to brave the fire regardless! Otherwise, she'd steadily withdraw until she could get into another tight passageway, hoping to force them into coming at her one at a time so that she could kill them with more safety and ease.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Should we have a finite counter for how much fuel or ammunition she has left? Right now the flamer's really good for handling groups in tight corners.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

If you think that's fair we could. Of course, neither weapon is getting any recharges while you're under ground, but we could also make it so that the rechargifier thingy can also turn water and carbon into promethium if you wanted. Or, we could make it so that some alchemists make a decent substitute. What do you think would work best?

(P:6+4) (L:8+3)

You manage to hold them off, barely, but do little actual damage as you force them to follow you at a distance around a corner. Alas, the passage doesn't neck down nor do the beasts come close enough to use your sword on, just as you feel your hand flamer begin to hiss and click at you, the promethium pod being empty. You've still got a belt full of spare fuel, but you'd have to drop your guard to exchange the fuel pods. Your las-pistol still has most of a charge, so you could just switch to it to maintain your ranged fire. Or you could charge. If you thought about it for a bit, you could probably come up with something else, but the creatures have begun to advance on you once more, seeing you struggle to keep up the flames.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Having her go to an alchemist sounds good, it'd give us more options for interactions and messing with chemicals, and it'd ramp up the difficulty so that there's more shenanigans. I'm mostly doing this partly to get Sadria into more trouble and partly because the flamer pistol feels a little strong as is and was looking to nerf it a tad.

Sadria's grin would fade with the flames, replaced by a glare. At this rate, she'd be out of fuel and the beasts would probably charge. Weighing her options, she opted to lunge forward and try skewering one of them through it's head, or as close to it as she could get, and bank on them still being wary of the fire from earlier and thus unprepared for a sudden rush!

"For Emperor and Imperium!" Sadria would roar loudly enough to echo down the cavern, charging forward with her sabre aimed for the center of the nearest beast's mass!

Could have her trade sexual favors for it since she lacks money. Could also be a way to introduce accelerated pregnancy potions or whatever.

(S:Natural 20! Emperor Dammit!)

Your charge catches at least one of them off guard, the sword darting straight through its face parts which causes it to spasm and flail about, knocking its allies aside, and yourself on your ass. Scrambling back up onto your feet, you take stock, seeing both of the surviving scorpions dazed and distracted as the brain stabbed one spasms and twitches in death. Your confidence soars! The Emperor has truly blessed your sword this day.

What the hell, I made her luck bad to get her INTO these messes! Is this Lamenters style bad luck?

Encouraged by the immensely potent strike she'd delivered, and the shock and confusion in the other scorpions at the brutal death of their friend, Sadria opted to just go for it and press the attack, swapping her flamer for her laspistol and going for an all out assault while she had the momentum!

"You picked the wrong servant of the Emperor, fools!" she yelled with a laugh, almost reveling in the carnage!

(S:Natural 20!)

You quickly dart in, happily stabbing and shooting, slaughtering the terrible monsters as they deserve. The creatures are disgusting piles of limbs and organs by the time you're done with them. All three of them are butchered rapidly. The damned servoskull casually floats there as well, scanning the creatures casually, which you suppose is nice, but it's still irritating. It must have been rigged as an assistant or something, rather than something for battle.

Her work done, Sadria takes a moment to bask in the afterglow, nothing like a good fight to get one's mind off of things. Still, the blasted servo skull was getting on her nerves, damned thing seemed to be more of a hindrance than a help half the time.

"Can you even communicate or record anything that you analyze, or should I just use you as a flying flashlight and bait from now on?" she asked, wiping some scorpion guts off her face and getting it off her weapon. She'd have to find some way to clean up after a slaughter like that.
