Yeah, let's just say she dropped the baby off in the woods some time ago.

"True true..." She says, still clearly amused as she begins examining the pile, "Killed some mimics... Did you cook them? Well... that's not good ruins the glue. Couple blitz cats... Looks like we can extract the lightning glands. And two Lightning Devourers. Pretty good... Though you did ruin a lot, we still got enough to play with here. Combine with my stash and I think we are set."

"The tree monsters are mimics? Alright, I guess that makes sense. I didn't know what was valuable, and I didn't want it to rot. Also, since there weren't any bones, they were easier to eat." I huff, but let my stress ease off. "And the bears pissed me off, so that's what they get." I'm feeling a little petulant at that.

"Forest Mimics, I believe is their official designation. Not all mimics live in dark dungeons after all, but the 'treasure chest tried to eat me' makes a good tavern story," Lilixes coos, "They're not terribly valuable so it's not a big loss. The 'bear' has several useful features though I can certainly see their habit of attempting to body slam you from the canopy to be wearing on ones patience. Still the Blitz Cat's organs are quite valuable indeed, but they are hard to catch, as typically when things aren't looking good for them they just disappear in a flash. So that is certainly a good few catches..." She turns to look at your baby kitten who's crawling onto your lap mewing for attention, "Even if it seems they caught you as well."

"It's an adorable baby kitten, I'm not going to abandon her!" I announce with some defiance. "Sometimes, the bait gets taken a little too well, and there are results." I mention, trying to maintain my facade, but a blush creeps into my cheeks.

"I'm not saying anything," She chuckles at your reactions, "Just a warning. As stated Blitz Cat organs are valuable, so you might want to make sure your little baby kitten isn't too far away when in the city." She lets that sink in before cheerfully saying, "Now how about we head to the city and get out of this dreary forest?"

"Alright. Maybe a collar?" I begin to mutter to myself, looking back. When she suggests heading to a town, I recall that that is indeed what we're expecting. "Wait... won't they attack me for being an escaped slave if I don't have a collar? Hang on, I've been practicing something..." I mutter. [Ira, now's a good time to do some shape shifting.] I mentally mutter before I try to change the area around my neck into a good approximation of a slave collar.

"Well, depends. Not all slaves have collars, favored slaves don't," Lilixes starts to explain before the collar forms, "Well, I was going to take the two of you on as my favored slaves, but perhaps I'll satisfy myself with Yali as I do like the new look." The collar looks lifelike but it's... odd. You can feel it despite the texture being that of a collar. Feel your fingers running over it.

"Hm, well it would make sense if we were favored then." I retract the strange collar. That deeply weirded me out. "It's also not something I can do very easily without some time spent experimenting." I mention.

[Sallin_Kari]

"Well maybe you should keep it on then. To experiment," She teases you once more.

"I could try making some hornes and scales, maybe make myself look like you? And then put on the collar?" I ask sweetly.

[Sallin_Kari]

"Oh you could try, but you'd never be able to pull off my brilliance," She simply grins, "I do understand the desire to imitate those above you though."

I shake my head. I'll never get through that thick skull. "Alright, that's enough of that then. Are we ready to head in?" I ask, wanting to get this over with.

[Sallin_Kari]

"That is what I said before you decided that you wanted to see if you could anger or insult me," She shoots back, "Gather your things, we'll stop by my camp and combine our bounty, then we can head to the city."

I do as she suggests. Sometimes, despite being impossible, she's right.

After packing up you follow her first to her camp then into the distance. After a day and a half you see the silhouette of a city in the distance. "So how do we want to do this?" Yali speaks up, "We could try to bribe the guards at the gate, which can get us set up with paper so we don't need to worry about that, or we can sneak in."

"Bribing seems the most useful long term? But we don't have any coin just yet. Hm, perhaps we could send Lilixes in to trade some of it, and then we could go in? Or we could let Yali sneak in first." I suggest smiling at the mouse girl.

"But it could also get us in trouble with the guards," Yali points out. Lilixes then chuckles, "Besides, we don't need gold, they know well enough how much some of these organs can be worth. They're perfectly fine bribes, and even easier to conceal. After all you just need to come up with how you confiscated a few of them from a traveler and no one will bat an eye about all the gold you suddenly find yourself in."

"Alright. Bribing still makes the most sense to me. If you know where we can get proper papers so we don't have to sneak around, we'd be fine, but with how small this town is, I'd think we'd all stick out too much to pretend to be locals who are just getting their papers."

"You must be from a capital if you think this is a small town," Yali looks at you... She is right though, you did come from a capital.

You head to the gate, "So how do we want to go about trying to bribe them. I don't think going 'Oh hey, we're suspicious people, but here's some monster parts, please give us some paperwork.' is going to end well for us," Yali asks.

"I... I don't know, Lilixes, have you bribed anyone? Wait, aren't you the servant, shouldn't you have experience with guards?" I turn to Yali for the last half.
