"You've been changed by a 'Designer' right? I'd assume what you did last night is not typical of your species, so we should be compatible now. At least, if the legends are true of the Designer touched. To the medical bay." She leads you to the smoothed floor with robotic limbs in it. When she steps in, a chair rises out of the smooth base and sits at the appropriate height for her as she sits down in it. Various scanners run up and down her, and you note at least one of them is hovering around the small rounded bump in her formerly chiseled stomach. You've got a few moments it seems, so you can ask more questions.

"Look, my kind have... well had no idea 'bout this 'designer' fellow, so I have no idea what he does," I reply slightly concerned now. I came in her so freely because I was sure their would be no consequences so I hadn't even though of being a dad or what that entails... It's not that I'm inherently against it... just I'm not exactly prepared... Well shit, too late now. Sitting next to Sabhya as she goes through the procedure, I begin asking, not willing to breach the subject of our baby until its confirm, "So what exactly is the Designer? What does he do? What does he want? Like why do this?"

"The Designer likes to modify creatures to improve them, however many creatures have a lot of defenses against their genetic drift, as there's lots of problems that arise when the body allows mutations too easily, which limits the changes the Designer can make. The fact that you've had so many modifications means your species might need to spend some time doing genetic engineering research or you'll be riddled with tumors. But, it did allow the Designer to improve you quite a bit without fear of modification rejection." There's a slight beep and the machine lets out a reading script. "Oh, this is interesting."

That answers one of my questions... not the other three. So the Designer likes modifying creature... but why? How does he chose? Does he have a purpose? ... Do they even know? "What's so interesting?" I question, leaning over to see what the machine displayed.

"There's very little experience with the Designer. Whoever it is only spends a few moments with them, and is usually returned within a matter of hours, with no memories of the inside." Which answers, or at least confirms you're not getting answers, for the rest of the questions. The fact it just mysteriously does this shit and gets away with it is also infuriating, but not really something you get a lot of control of. "Also, I'm pregnant. Two months along too, as the little bump implies."

That... lines up very well will my experience. I was entering the ship, a door opened... and I saw something... A silhouette? No even that is too defined... And then everything cuts out... Same time the Impervious loss communications with me as it would happen. So basically he's a living myth. We know there is this thing that does stuff, but that's literally it. Hell 'the Designer' is probably something applied to him rather then a chosen moniker. Likely has to do with the end results. There were numeral differences discovered in me. For one thing, my genetic code has apparently completely redone to make it 'neater' rather then the naturally chaotic mess that evolution granted me, devoid of any 'errors' or inert code. Other very notable differences in physiology is that lots of the... sillier aspects of the human body are removed or reworked... For example, I don't have a blind spot anymore, as the nerves are completely underneath the photosensitive cells rather then having to have a specific point where the optical nerve enters the inside of the eye. Truly the work of an 'intelligent designer.'

My little mental escapades get cut short by her next statement, "How? It's been a day. No less." Catching myself as confusion sets in, I start letting out a long breath to calm myself. All of my knowledge of biology, as surface level as it is, is subject to change... at least when it came to me. That's fine, I just need to stop thinking about it, and just accept what happens.

"Did they wound you? You should... heal fast? Is that the term? Your cellular structure should be able to process raw materials very quickly, and you gave me quite the supply." She says, cradling the bulge in her stomach. "We can induce this in normal species, but yours is still very fast. Let me know when you are ready for another, we shall push this little one along." She coos to you.

Okay, apparently that is a thing. Sure why not. "I'm sure we can after another movie date. You were curious about what human couples do so I thought I'd show you a movie about it," I suggest, now that I know I've got a laptop with a usb full of things like that. Romance might not be my cup of tea as honestly most of them boil down to either 'This wouldn't be a problem if you just talked,' or 'JUST FUCK ALREADY' which can get frustrating, but there are a few good ones out there. Besides, as with many men, I'm happy to sit through a sappy love story if it means I get laid afterwords.

You quickly catch her attention once more at the promise of human entertainment. "Yes, that sounds delightful." She gives you a dreamy smile, and now you have to find a movie to enjoy. One that will probably color the way Sabhya sees your relationship for the foreseeable future and where she's likely to try and pull ideas from. No pressure.

Shit... She's far more excited then I thought she would. This hardly being my genre of choice, I only have a passing association with it. I desperately dig through my memories for any movie that would be of good quality that I might be able to use.

Let's see, good romance movies. Titanic is kind of... a tragedy and not something you want her seeing as the goal. In fact, it'd probably be best to eliminate anything that ended tragically. Casablanca might work, but it's still... not the best. The Princess Bride might work as well, but the comedy aspect of it might be beyond her grasp. There's the Disney schlock, but that's a little storybook. If you just wanted a good example, The Addams Family might work as well.

Honestly half of those movies I've only seen part of while they were playing in the mess hall. Apparently one of the officers had a thing for the classics. No I don't think this is going to work... Besides, all of the ideas are... dated. Perhaps a series would be better served? I do recall a harem anime that I watched a couple years back that might do the trick. While it is a bit perverse, as is common for Japan, it also does have a lot of action, which might make it more palatable to her, and there are several episodes revolving around the relationships and in particular dates. A variety of them to show a multitude of different couple activities, since she was so interested in what human couples do. "So, I do have something that I think you might enjoy and teach you what you want to know about human couples. Just need to find it on here first," I call out to her, bringing up my laptop, slipping the USB stick in and searching through for it.

I don't think Nikolas realizes that there are several potential lessons she can learn that are... uh... false. For example, this is a battle harem... so she'll probably get the idea that it's common for humans to fight giant monsters or similar with their wives. Potential for all kinds of fun their.

"Sorry, I don't quite remember the name so it's taking a while." Despite it, I can't say I'm not enjoying the situation. Still got to wait a few hours before I can fully enjoy those juicy melons once again. This is partly for her education so I got to be patient. "Ah here it is." I pull up the file, double clicking it. After fullscreening it and adjusting the volume, I shift the laptop to a position that is easy for both of us to watch but won't require effort to hold it in place.

I assume that you aren't expecting me to describe the anime in any more detail.

Nah, it's fine. It's not like there aren't ten million variants of High School Battle Harem, But This Time With Catgirls!

The tracks begin to play, and Sabhya does something with her hands, and a few things start to scan your laptop. You suspect by the second episode, you'll be watching it on the hologram screen. The anime is as cheesy as you recall, although Sabhya is rapt, and seems to be infatuated with the hot blooded protagonist.

Sure, but is the content important?

While these things are a dime a dozen, you can tell they put some effort in the characters at least. Unfortunately the plot is... well stereotypical so I never went back to it, but the characters stuck with me at least.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Sure, put in a general description.

Sabhya continues to watch, only stopping at the end of the first episode where the credits roll. "I did not know that that could be done for entertainment purposes! Most artificial image animations are used to explain concepts. She continues to fiddle with something, heading back into her kitchen while a glorified Roomba with a robot arm brings something up from the bottom. It's very obviously some kind of adapter for your laptop to the projector, how much you trust this laptop is up to you if you want to plug it in and hope for the best or let Sabhya know.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Basically it's a fantasy(though one of those where all the conveniences of modern life is done with magic so it's remarkably similar) harem with school elements as the initial arc takes place in the Royal Academy specifically focused on training battle mages. The protag gathers the initial harem there, before they get drafted into a war against demons, before the finally where the demon lord, a female forces her way into the harem.

I don't know how to respond to her comment that they seemingly never thought to use animations as entertainment... Perhaps they aren't very creative? Of course that might be very unfair to access from just that so I'll note it and move on. As she brings up the projector, I shake my head, "I haven't had a chance to clean this, so I don't know if this won't corrupt your systems."

Much of their entertainment seems to be based around sports and athletics, so completely fake fights probably seem a little... juvenile. "Clean it? What do you mean, it does not look dirty." She eyes the machine again. How to explain all of this?

"Uh... viruses... information warfare?" I ask seeing if it rings any bells, before I explain in more detail, "Basically this laptop was provided to me by my superiors... Superiors who may have ulterior motives, like stealing what ever data they can from your ship."

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Ah yes, because if you play sports then animations about sports is childish... which is why there are no sports manga aimed at an adult audience.
