Well, as fun as her preferred form of 'sparring' is, I think that's better put off until later, "I think that it would be best if I can at least put up a fight should things get that bad. As long as we're alive we can always... uh, spar like we did before."

"I'll hold you to that promise. Still, is there a preferred style of combat you'd like to practice? I'm sure we could start with some grappling, but that might get too exciting. Do you have a preferred weapon?" She holds a hand up, the air in her hand seeming to take the shape of a spear or axe. Then it becomes a dick, she gives it a few tugs, and then it's back to being a weapon. She stares at you innocently.

I pull out my dagger, "This is about all I could afford... Not sure if its best to stick with it though..." I decide to ignore the dildo. Last thing I need is to back track on my decision.

If that is what Adam needs, that is what she'll be. Also remember that she'll be the person to teach him magic, as he knows jack shit about it.

Is it fitting with what you want?

"Hm, a dagger. I am assuming you've no experience with combat then. Perhaps magic is more your preference? We will practice various melee combat as well, no sense leaving you helpless." She switches her hands up, holding a small knife similar to your dagger, but thicker, her other hand armed with a short sword.

"I don't know anything about magic," I say with a shrug, "And it's not like I haven't gotten in a scrap before. Monsters attacked me like anyone else, and I had to fend them off somehow. Nothing formal though."

What? The training of magic? Then yeah. It'd be what she's best at.

Also, I imagine her showing slightly more... psychopathic nature upon finding out that some monsters tried to hurt him before.

"What kind of monster attacked you?" The question is innocent enough, like she's trying to make plans about how to defend yourself. The way she holds herself is different than what you'd expect. In the few street fights you've seen and been in, the small knife was between the two, but she holds her empty arm forward, and her knife armed hand back, clenched against her side. It sort of clicks how that would be a much more viable style, her empty hand a defensive weapon, her other hand back and cocked.

She does make a sharp gesture with her empty hand, and a floating misty knife materializes before you. You aren't sure, but it seems like the 'blade' isn't dangerous, like the spell is there, but not will break apart if anything substantial hits it. Ideal for training.

I meant her personality. Also, did you have a preferred style of magic system? I was thinking of making it a planned style, perhaps with a magic book where you write down the spellforms and then you can summon the spell, and it burns itself out of the book so you have to write it again. Probably a magic book that can't be lost tho.

"There were a couple different types over the years. Mostly the non-monster girl variants. Dire wolves were probably the most common since I spent a lot of time in the forest," I comment, taking the magical blade in my hand and examining it curiously, giving a few experimental swings before mirroring her stance.

Ah... well she's more bubbly then I was expecting, though I like how sometimes she switches. I can see her having the bubbling attitude towards Adam, a serious maybe slightly domineering attitude to other harem members, and full yandere towards threats.

Eh... I mean he's basically a magical font of dark magic. That style doesn't mesh too well with it I think... Though that might make a lot of sense for normal magic.

The blade is little more than a bundle of mana, and while both of you can see and feel it, it's not really 'there'. An experimental swing shows the blade flexing and start to unravel before it taps into you somehow and reforms itself. Velvet lets a bit of her personality slip, taking on focus as she begins to circle and stalk you. She occasionally makes a grab at your arm, seeming to try and pull you towards her off balance, where she can stick the knife in your kidney. Assuming you still have kidneys? Regardless, she's letting you advance, as she seems to have incredibly refined control despite her minor stumbling.

Oh yeah, expect a row of wolf skulls lining the entrance to the cave.

Also, by mirrored, I assume they're both using their right or left hand as their weapon hand rather than a proper mirror or the way she's moving wouldn't make sense.

As she tries to grab my arm, I attempt to return the favor, using my superior strength, reach, and size to yank or shove her off balance so I can close in, for a few jabs before pulling back. I hang in the small zone where she's in my reach but I'm out of hers, probing for an opening.

She seems off balance, and you try to take advantage, but she springs under your guard and you feel her fist jammed against your side before she darts away. She didn't get away perfect, as you manage to tag her upper arm, but the value of a body shot vs that of an upper arm cut is not something that is really a good trade. You could act wounded and have her do the same, or you could acknowledge the wound as a loss and reset entirely.

"Alright you got me," I nod, returning to my starting position, "Let's try it again."

This time I'm going spring toward with a powerful thrust. If she dodges, I'll swing my arm towards her to throw her off balance and prevent a counter attack. With my attack plan set I wait for the next match to start.

She's far less prepared for this, as your larger mass surprises both of you and you catapult forward and knock her off balance, allowing you to press your advantage and pressing her. It seems your new form favors extreme aggression compared to what you are used to.

I am more then a little shocked at my sudden burst of power... But then again that's what the training is for. After this match is over, I ask, "Are you okay? I didn't hurt you or anything?"

She gives a bright smile. "You can't hurt me accidentally silly, I feed off you." She hops back to her feet and does a little twirl before she sits back ready again. She cocks her head to one side, "This will probably be the last before the naga get here. There's... three of them."

I'm unsure of how to take the 'she feeds off me' bit, but I decide to just focus on the training, getting ready for the next round as she comments once again. "Oh... Well then, let's wrap up. If I can't hurt you then I guess I want to try something." I once again lunge forward but the thrust is a feint for an elbow strike to the face. Regardless if I hit or if she dodged, I extend my arm to hook behind her neck as my leg darts behind her knee, as I throw my entire weight onto the floor, attempting to pin her underneath me.

The aggression works wonders and she only manages to block the elbow to the face, and even then, your size forces her to strike herself with reduced effect. Breath erupts from her as you knock the wind out of her and she groans in pain.

Hearing the groan of pain I immediately regret this, crouching down to check on her, "Are you okay?!? I'm sorry! I thought I couldn't hurt you!"

"And then you go and knock the wind out of me. I feel like a right fool for saying that." She smiles up at you, and you can feel her magical nature prevent any major injuries with you this close. Between the two of you, there's enough magic to prevent either of you from getting hurt in your sparring sessions. "Besides, I could turn off my pain sense if I wanted, but it's not good to get used that." She rolls her shoulders before she sneaks a kiss. "Now, we have visitors on the way."

I can't help but let my concern slip away as she kisses me, and I simply nod, "Um... right... Let's go then." I step up and walk towards the door I made.
