"A steel bow? Like a longbow or just the bow part of a cross bow?" He asks you, though his tone sounds like only one of those is practical. At your request for throwing knifes he rolls out a few... bandoliers effectively. Each hold a dozen throwing knifes. Not those tiny needle of a knife kind of throwing knifes, but ones with six inch blades.

At your offer for more ore in exchange for the armor, "How many sets of those armor do you think I can make with what you already brought me? It's fine. Though if you could finish it up for yourself that would be ideal. I got a lot of work ahead of me thanks to you... A good problem to have."

I look through the bandoliers picking one that catches my fancy. "Oh good, I'll probably need more than one depending on what needs to be done." As is, I'm effectively capped out on equipment until I've got a chance to harvest some more material. If there's nothing else, I leave and take a look at the sky, trying to gauge the amount of time left before I need to sleep. As is, I need to work on starting Astaroth a cult or something, either tonight or tomorrow. After that, I'll be spending a lot of time in the forge to finish out that armor. I have much to do, but the encounter with the dire bear has informed me that I do not want to be caught so off guard again.

"Keep bringing in ore, and I'll keep as many of 'em as you need," The blacksmith nods, clearly sensing how beneficial this relationship can be. The mountain is starting to cast long shadows into the town, but you still have a few more hours in you before bed. Still, probably best not to try and proselytize while heavily armed and covered in blood, so you might want to take a quick trip to Paul's house to drop some stuff off and take a quick shower.

The thought of going and washing this... filth off of me is strongly appealing. I don't recall wanting to be this clean before, dirt is simply a fact of life, but I've been different since I changed. Everything else would do well to be put aside.

As you return you catch sight of Hazel by a well for the first time since you introduced yourself to her. She doesn't immediately notice you, but before you can announce your presences, she catches sight of you and jumps. She trips over a bucket by her feet, slamming hard onto the ground in a rapidly forming puddle of water and mud.

Well. That's an interesting reaction. I approach her, looking to make sure she's okay.

It looks like she twisted her ankle in the fall. Interestingly, as you approach, she tries to escape, pulling herself behind the well as if to hide from you.

"Are you alright? I'm just trying to make sure you're okay." I tell her.

"I-I-I'm FINE!" She squeaks out. After a long moment she asks, "You're not going to melt my mind and turn me into a sex toy right?" You hear Astaroth begins laughing.

I sigh in exasperation. "No, I'm not going to melt your mind. The last part is up to you of course." I decide to play with her a bit. Astaroth must be corrupting me.

She starts to let out a sigh of relief until you finish your sentence and immediately goes pale white with a deer-in-the-headlights stare.

"Is that an invitation?" I tease her, moving up closer and pressing against her a bit, before I back off. "Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've never had a sister or anything like that before." I give her my best dazzling smile.

At that, she jumps back, promptly falling flat on the floor once more. Your smile does little to sooth her as she once again slides behind the well. Before you can decide on how to deal with this, Paul calls out, "What's going on?" At this point Hazel bolts from her position, stumbling a bit due to the pain in her ankle, but persevered until she was 'safely' behind Paul.

"Your friend seems scared of me, that I'm going to hypnotize her and turn into a sex slave. I tried to tell her that I don't do hypnosis to turn people into sex slaves." I tell him honestly. I can admit to teasing her if asked though.

He looks over at you, before shrugging, "But it wouldn't be the first time a follower of Astaroth did that, would it? You can understand her apprehension, no?"

[Have you done that? I know you mind controlled the guard captain, but that was different.] "It's not something I would do." Feeling a bit hurt. I'm here to protect people, dammit.

[Have I? No. Have a follower on her own decided to? Not exactly, but I can see how it was misconstrued. Charm just amplifies the natural desires of the target. It is not mind control,] She explains pointedly.

"Maybe, maybe not. But we'd be foolish not to take precautions in case you would, would we not?" Paul counters.

I tell them, hoping the information that weakens the effects of charm will be enough to win a bit more trust. "I can only offer my apologies that I made light of something you fear."

So is Paul a descendant of some followers of Astaroth? I assume he's not another starving godling.

[Yes well, the reason it is so powerful is because it plays on what you want it. Humans aren't know for being good at denying their desires,] Astaroth 'helpfully' chimes in, and you can't help but thank your lucky stars you are the only one who can hear her.

"If you feel that way, then I ask you respect her desire to place distance," Paul announces, his eyes show a determination you're only use to seeing on the battlefield, a determination to protect even at the cost of ones own life, "Do this and I will continue to offer my assistance. Regardless of your patron, it is still fact that you saved this town from the gnoll army."
