Spoiler (click to show/hide):
Well, 11 is barely above a positive. Bellow a ten would have been some kind of volatile material, or something completely useless. Probably ancient artistic relics or something.
Also, was the neutron drive just for FTL grade travel, or was it an enhanced rocket engine as well? I've been giving them atmospheric transit shuttles where the smaller ones are just for getting up into orbit to be picked up by a space only ship that has the FTL system. Mostly so they don't have to fight the gravity well with the entire ship and to keep your character away from FTL engines.
Foraging question answered?
She gives the ship a once over, noting the labeling on the engines. The hull seems to have been patched once or twice, and it's definitely the same self 'healing' material as the fuel tank, but the engines look like standard rocket aero splkes. If the system that Li had on her ship are typical shuttles, 'typical shuttles!', then it probably doesn't have an advanced system, and simply has a simple fuel refiner/reactor/solar system so that it can 'self supply' fuel once deployed. While less mass efficient than some other systems, this at least has the advantage of being easy to maintain as well as making it easier to bring fuel back up to the system. Of course, that also means you could probably sabotage it fairly easily.
Li agrees with you, although she seems less at home in the jungle than you first thought she might be. Possibly because she was only looking for 'dangerous' things instead of survival supplies. Investigating more thoroughly on food supplies, you manage to find a couple of smaller game trails, bigger than squirrels but smaller than hogs. The plants seem similar to earth plants, whether through convergent evolution or life seeding, a mix of trees and low bushes, although they seem to favor a more reddish color than the intense green you're familiar with. Looking up, many of them have clusters of what appears to be fruits, resembling citrus plants more than anything else, a tough outer skin with a squishy body. Some of them are rather pungent, even without opening them. The smaller bushlike plants seem to have a mix of tubers, berries and edible portions. Assuming none of it will make you shit your intestines out. Li follows along as you poke and prod the various plants, trying to take mental notes.
