Hunter's journeys (Cliffracer)

Character deets:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Hunter Sleiper
Age: 21
Appearance: [Album] Hunter is a short and fit punk girl that prefers to wear short and loose clothing, needing it to suit her athletic lifestyle. She's got striking blue eyes and bears some battle scarring across her arms. Hunter doesn't have a lot of chest to speak of, but makes up for it with wide hips, thick thighs, and a great booty. She's very physically expressive and tends not to respect personal space.

Ranged: 7
Tactical: 10
Fitness: 15
Intelligence: 6
Charisma: 13
Magical: 4
TRAITS: Small But Nimble ( +1 Bonus to Fitness rolls about dodging or movement, penalty to Fitness rolls about strength or size.) - Well-Meaning Idiot ( Her honesty shines through in her body language and expressions, but she's seriously pretty thick-headed. +1 to Charisma rolls regarding convincing people she isn't lying and calming people down, penalty to rolls to figure out if she's being lied to and for learning written information. )

Bio: Hunter is a second-generation child of the apocalypse- she wasn't alive when it happened, but what happened was still so recent that her parents could recount what happened, if she was still around them. She grew up mostly helping out around the community her family was a part of, avoiding what education was going on so she could help scavenge or do chores that people didn't have time for during the rebuilding. As she neared her adulthood and her community started to stabilize in to something concrete, she grew restless. The thrill of being out in the world and at risk and seeing new things excited her and she realised she couldn't get that aside from maybe dealing with raiders. She decided the best thing she could do to get that rush was to tell one of the others of the community she was leaving, then left in the middle of the night.

Now, Hunter is somewhat of a bounty hunter and somewhat of a treasure hunter, taking jobs she thinks are honest to keep food in her belly and supplies in her pack. Generally, if she sees ruins of the old world and the magic they built in to their society, she ends up far too curious not to take a look (especially with her own lack of aptitude!)

Kinks: Dickgirls/futanari (especially larger musclier ones,) public use (esp. 'stuck in wall'), public/hidden sex, gangbangs, anthro, feral, nonstandard genetalia, large penetrations, excessive amounts of cum/minor cumflation, oviposition and egglaying, tentacles, breast expansion, bondage, deepthroating/facefucking
Turn-offs: Bathroomplay of any kind, guro, vore (besides 'tentacle pit' style, which is barely vore)

You've finally arrived at the nearest city that isn't quite so run down and have started scouting out places to stay. You've checked out where everything of note within the city is, and have a good mental map allowing you to quickly find your way to any particular shops that you might need. The only thing that seems odd is the large number of fairly muscular women in the area, perhaps it's one of those 'nanotech spills' you've heard about.

No matter what you do decide, you're going to need some cash, and that means trade goods of some kind. There's a couple of nearby ruins you could explore, as you've heard they haven't been fully exploited just yet. You could also investigate the local bounty system to see if there's any particular type of mutant you should be on the look out for to violently depopulate. There's also the option of picking up the oldest profession, although you're not sure how well you'd do at that job with so many attractive women here.

Hunter didn't need to think too long about what her plan was for staying in this city. Checking the bounty system would be somewhat of a way to pad out her main intrest, the ruins that weren't too far away. That way if the expeditions were a bust, she'd still have some bounty cash to work with to keep herself from getting desperate. The REMAINING option... didn't totally feel off the table to her, but at the moment it was something she'd look in to if she got bored or was really down on her luck. She didn't really think about if it'd be harder with all the hot ladies around- surely hot ladies would want to rent one out, right?

She's set on her course, though. Bounty board to see what kind of local nuisances there are, then double-check her stuff and head to the nearest ruins.

A quick check of your stuff shows that you've got the common camping equipment, plus a bit of medical supplies you've managed to scrounge together. Outside the walled city, there were some crops that produced textiles, so it's not unreasonable to assume you'll be able to buy more, at least not once you've got the cash to make it happen.

The bounty board has what you'd expect, the common mutant bounties for exterminations, as well as some that list special ones that require the 'energy node' from the more dangerous ones. Horrible plant and bug monsters as well, particularly if you can verify that you've wiped out a colony of them rather than just kill a few of them in the wild.

"Hrmmm... Bugs are probably easier to stomp than plants, but gonna be dangerous... Alright." Talking to herself to dedicate it to memory, she just had to make sure to take mental note to be very thorough if she ended up finding any plant monsters or colonies of bugs. She was confident she could probably take out a mutant that has an energy node (whatever that is, she sure didn't know) if she got the drop on it, but she's always been overconfident like that. Satisfied, she hefts her pack and departs with spring in her step. There's a good chance she's getting paid today, one way or another!

(Encounter roll: Natural 1! Whelp, this is off to an interesting start.)

As you begin to search around, slowly meandering toward the ruin locations, you keep your eyes open, but don't seem to find much of anything. Eventually, you manage to hear something up ahead, and spot a single zombie like mutant, staring at the sun with a slack jawed stare. Looking closely at it, you see what appears to be a softly glowing crystal sticking out of the back of its head. Energy node perhaps? Gotta be. It doesn't seem to be doing much besides standing there and grunting. Looking around, there's a small group of scrub trees back behind it that you might be able to sneak into.

Hunter's eyes lock straight on that strange zombie as soon as she sees it. It doesn't look like it's too alert with how the sun's dazing it, but she's not gonna play around regardless. She's not sure yet, but that crystal could well be a weak point she could exploit if she could just get in close enough behind without it sensing her. Those shrubs would at least be good cover from sight, and probably just as good for ambushing from... She crouches down low so she can do just that, mingle in with the trees while keeping quiet on her approach. If she's not noticed, she'll observe the monster from where she is and see just how clueless it actually is.

You sneak into the small cluster of tall grass (awareness tactical roll subverted by natural 1!, stealth fitness roll 16+5+1) and head toward the middle of it while keep your eyes carefully on the zombie and its glittering brain crystal. The grass makes the moans of the zombie echo as you sneak about in the grass and you avoid anything like loose stones or gravel. Finally, you're behind the zombie and you can almost see yourself reflected in the strange gem. It almost seems to be growing as the creature basks in the sunlight.

Something is strange though, what the hell is its moans echoing off of? Turning around, you finally notice that the one zombie was just the leader in a medium sized pack of ten of them, which you've deftly snuck into the middle of. They're zombies... so you can probably outrun them? But you're not sure what the best idea is. With your skill, you've avoided them noticing you so far... but there's no telling if you'll be able to sneak away just as easily. A bird is startled by something, and flies away, and a few of the zombies turn to lazily track it before it moves far enough away. A few of them have stepped out of the grass in the direction you were going to head back. You seem to be stuck in the middle of a swam of zombies, isn't that some fantastic luck?

Hunter's internal monologue is a chorus of "Ohhh shiiiit" when the situation dawns on her. These zombies are too quiet, and all that tall grass meant her low viewpoint hid them from her in return... If she made a break for it, she'd have to evade her way through a good part of this pack. On the flip side she's right behind what could very well be the brains of this pack, even though she doesn't know what effect taking it out would have. She knew exactly how risky it would be to try it, and if she couldn't either take out the node zombie or rip out the energy node itself, the ambush just wouldn't be worth it. Whatever she decided to do, she'd be relying on her speed at some point.

But... as tempting as it was to just go for it, she'd rather know what it's like to fight a base zombie first before alerting a decent pack. She checks around where she is to see if there's a rock she can use for a distracting noise, but if there isn't, she's waiting for the first decent gap she can see and breaking in to a dash towards the ruins she was headed for.

(Fitness speed roll: 13+5+1)

There's nothing of note around you and you spot a good chance to run before you work up the nerve to try and move around. You take off, only looking back at the sound of a high pitched screech and howl from the zombies. The lead zombie is no longer staring at the sun, but at your pert little ass and seems to be looking to take a bite out of it. It shifts slowly, but is soon going in a loping run, its pack slowly spreading out behind it. They're not fast, not compared to a human, but they don't seem to need to breath as they keep up the continuous screeching sound. You're still putting distance between you, but you're not sure what you should do from here.

You could keep up your dead sprint toward the ruins and hope you lose them between here and there, otherwise you're not going to get to do much exploring. And if they lose you there, they'll probably just start staring at the sun right at the entrance, which will make the return trip all kinds of fun. You could also try to steer them around some obstacles and hope they lose sight of you and forget, although adding obstacles to your sprint sounds like a terrible idea. You're not sure, but you think you see a cave near the entrance to the ruins in the distance, and it looks small and cramped. Most of the zombies are 'normal' sized humans, making them almost a head taller than you and a good bit wider without basic problem solving skills, so you could probably hide inside, but what about if they don't forget you till they're right outside. This is a terrible way to start your career as a huntress.

Hunter's getting worried about exactly what part of her is on the line if these zombies catch up with her. She could feel that laser-focused stare on her ass when she wasn't looking which at least meant she could focus on the running part. She had nothing but tough decisions ahead of her, but she knew whatever she picked would feel like the wrong one no matter what. At the very least she rules out the idea of beelining for the ruins, she wouldn't have the benefit of a head start if she had them sitting right outside... If she went for the obstacles, a couple bad trips and her ass was in trouble. If she picked the cave, she'd have to bank on getting there fast enough... or not having her ass get stuck, putting it in trouble.

The cave would at least give her time to plan again. That's enough motivation for her- she alters course straight for that cave. She'd love to try and herd them in to a good position outside it once they caught up, but she might not have that luxury.

You head into the cave, ducking down once you're more than a few meters into the cave. The zombies don't quite seem to get that, as their heads start to fit in, and they never duck until they've firmly wedged themselves in to opening. You can't help the sigh that escapes you. There's a thin crack running up the side of the hill you're in, so there's enough visible light to see further, or that it continues quite a bit further in. It gets darker after a while. (Int 8-4, failure). You didn't pay much attention in what little schooling you got, where they may or may not have covered the monsters of the wastleand. You don't recall anything about zombie habits, although you can deduce a bit of information involving the fact that they chase movement they spot.

"Ghhh... Stupid asshole zombies..."
She's half tempted to start stomping at heads while she's close, but getting pulled out of her new hidey-hole by her ankle wouldn't be a great way to get rich. Since she's got no clue what she should be doing about this traffic jam of zombies in front of her, she's got only one direction to go; inward. She kicks a little dust at the zombies first to make herself feel better.

Kicking the and makes you feel better, and stopping to think does little as the damned zombies squirm and try to fit in, only to wedge themselves tighter. Well, if you ever do manage to get out, you've got a fresh cluster of them to harvest crystals from. Their scrambling kicks up a bit of dust as well, and you finally notice that it's drifting inward at a slow pace. Perhaps there is another way out?

After reacting to that realization, you begin to scuffle along the cramped cave until you reach a tight opening with some serious echoing going on inside of it.

"Gah. Just stay out of my hidey-hole, you idiots."
She feels less good about her hiding place when she notices the zombies starting to slowly squeeze inwards after her. She didn't think she was in too much trouble, but she's not gonna risk it. She leaves the entrance behind and scoots her way inward, even needing to take her pack off and either keep it ahead or behind her just to make it easier on herself. That opening was... promising. Echoing meant it HAD to be a bigger chamber on the other side, right? She was getting her hopes up at least, so she presses onward, keeping her backpack behind her just so her stuff isn't being put at risk first.

Heading into toward the back, you eventually find some kind of rusted contraption that looks like it might have been an air vent of some kind. It must have been a disguised air intake or possibly output. Without the repairs it eventually fell apart and now some weird quirk of the local geology is creating the wind. Crawling through, you find what used to be some kind of filtration medium which has long been chewed up by time and you kick open an air vent, heading into a part of what must be an older facility. Some quick poking around shows that there's a collapsed tunnel, or most of one anyway. You can make out plenty of air gaps, but nothing you could do more than stick your hand into. That must be the main part of the ruins.

Searching around, there's a few closed doors you could break open.

"Hahaa... score." It was a happy discovery to see that the cave was more of a means of venting air to part of the ruins, it means she could hopefully find the entrance and leave through there to avoid those zombies. Hopefully. For now though, she has... a lot of tough work to do. With her only ways forward behind some old closed doors and no tools to get through that collapse, she'd have to put in some elbow grease. She chooses one of the doors away from the collapse and starts applying her boot to it, getting a run-up if she feels like it'll work.

The door slowly begins to part, as it seems it's not a blast door, just a normal one. But it's one of those fancy ones the ancients liked where it slides into the wall instead of being on nice dismantleable hinges. After a few more bangs, you feel something in the door give, and a distinct clattering is easy to hear. You've busted the locking mechanism and now have easy access. There are several tanks of... goop present, a single skeleton having tried to open one of them. Someone must have been trapped in here and tried to use the goop for something.

There don't seem to be any tools left in here, just a pile of fuzed electronics and small piles of rust. Whatever was holding the tank closed seems to have mostly rotted away by now, far too late to do anything worthwhile for whoever died in here.

Hunter steps in to this room feeling pretty good she got to break something, even if it wasn't the WHOLE door she was able to break this time. As she takes a look at the ancient history of this room she crosses her arms, humming lowly. That skeleton seemed to really want this goopy stuff. Maybe Hunter could make use of it too? Getting some ideas, she figures she could probably keep some of this stuff for later if she used one of her canteens. She drinks what she had left in the one she was working on, then tries to open up one of the tanks so she can fill it up. If that skeleton didn't have any equipment for handling this stuff, it should prooobably be safe to dip her hand in. Probably.

Quickly getting the tank open, you're blindsided when the stuff leaps at you, putting your arm up, a fake little fist wraps around your arm and begins to sink into it. It's excruciating, for a split second before cool numbness spreads. Abruptly, you feel very tired. That can't be good. Darkness overtakes you.

When you wake up, a little groggy, you find that there's still a tank full of goop waiting for you, although this stuff doesn't seem to be reacting. Getting near the stuff again, it doesn't even flinch at you. Was that some sort of hallucination? You could still scoop some of the stuff up, it's got to be valuable. But the experience, even if it's just a dream, gives you the willies.

The best reaction Hunter gets to the weird goo's sudden decision to spring to life is a pained hiss through the teeth, the rest was just a whirlwind of confusion that made her unable to keep up with what was going on. She appropriately passes right out, but she'd have tried her best to stay standing if she'd seen all this coming.

She likens the feeling she gets waking up to being somewhere in the ballpark of waking up right before a hangover starts. She gets to her feet as she stares suspiciously at the other tanks of goop, whatever it was she's remembering keeping her very cautious. She doesn't want to feel like a coward, so she does check what the stuff does when she gets near, and hey, it isn't moving like the other stuff may or may not have. She looks between her canteen and this goop again, and her desire for money overrides her caution. She's gonna get this tank open to try and fill her canteen again, then head out of this room no matter what happens.
