Appearance:Spoiler (click to show/hide):
Bio: Alex grew up in one of the smaller villages that sat in between two countries. His family was a bit ostracized due to his great-grandpa's relations with a dragon, so growing up Alex felt a bit of the discrimination caused by differing races. He never really let it bug him though he did wonder why people focused on differences. While the village never accepted his family it never cast them out until, Alex decided to break a law he saw as pointless and old-fashioned. He combined magic with technology and his family was exiled for combining the gods' gifts with mankind's tools. It was a quick trial as Alex presented his first invention, the impact gauntlet, which used wind magic to increase the force applied to a target on impact, and the court identified it as forbidden. It didn't help that he also had a smoke grenade that used wind and fire magic as well as a grappling hook that used earth magic to pull the thin rope inside it. Him and his father were sent into the Shadow Kingdom like most exiles.
Their travels in the Kingdom lasted for a good few months before they came upon the first village. The village proved the exiling to be a blessing rather than a curse. They found a town that shared their belief of magic and technology being combined. The townspeople explained that nobody in the Shadow Kingdom viewed it as taboo and that they had been given free growth through the rumors of the kingdom being death for all. Both of them were given a place to build a home and workshop on the outer edge of town, but Alex began feeling a burning sensation on his back that worsened every day he was there. After going to the town doctor and being examined, a marking was found which the doctor explained could only be understood by the Shadow King. Alex was given escort to the castle that stood in the middle of the lands. After entering he was guided to the throne room by mechanical knights. There the ancient king explained that he was to be the next ruler after he had earned his place. He was told that his appearance was perfectly timed as the Shadow King had a perfect goal for him. Thus began the re-balancing of the world through conquest.
Perks:
Shadow Magic: The magic granted to him by his right as the Shadow King's heir.
Basic shadow magic- Can mimic basic spells of the four main elements, but only to a weaker degree. These elements are fire, water, air, and earth.
Artificer skills and tools: Alex's profession and training in combining technology and magic.
Starting tools- Alex can craft and carry a weak impact gauntlet, three small smoke grenades, and a grappling hook with a twenty foot range.
Dragon's blood: These perks are related to Alex's physical strength and come from the dragon's blood inside him awakening.
Weak Dragon's Magic- gives Alex basic access to magic, but his mana supply is smaller compared to most races.
it had barely been a day since you'd met the current shadow king and already he was sending you out on the war path, he'd had word sent to your father, and then had the shadow kingdoms army gather in preparation for the beginning of the assault with you at the helm, but the first move would be yours so you could take your time or you could get things moving immediately, the easiest places to start would be the bordering kingdoms there where a few, and that gave you options:
-Lidmas: a human kingdom founded upon a strong basis in laws, and placed firmly in the lawful good end of things, they have a modest army, mostly consisting of infantry, knights and archers, there is nothing to suggest that they have siege equipment, or anything particularly advanced, magic is seen as holy, and combat use is prohibited.
-esethil: a small kingdom of wood elves, filled with proficient archers, and many magic users but lacking in infantry and numbers, meaning that invading shouldn't be too much of a challenge, though the kingdom is known to have some strong hero's who may be an issue even for the shadow army, or so the rumours go.
-Harfenholm: more of a city state than a kingdom, it had once been part of a larger kingdom that had collapsed almost 100 years ago, a hot bed of corruption, crime and villainy, the city is disorganised, small and poorly maintained, but it has strong walls, and plenty of low lives to defend it, all in all a mixed bag, with many races, and backgrounds, taming this city could prove fierce but capturing shouldn't be too hard once you crack the perimeter walls at least.
you had been left alone to think but there where servants nearby if you needed anything, or wished for them to fetch an adviser or a general, a couple of the kingdoms mechanical knights stood guard not far away, as well,
