"I think the guys who made this colony ship made a lot of pleasure barges and cruise ship type things before this." Tessa theorized, trying to distract herself from the mess behind them as the survivors are galvanized by your movements, taking your uniform (and the fact that you've got a gun) as indicative of some sort of rank as they hurry along, some with children in toe.

Sanity (wisdom) check: 11 vs 13, fail! 4 Sanity damage, crit!
Running through the hall, you can't help but keep seeing things out of the corner of your eye, outside the windows and framed by yellow light, not unlike an eerie pale sun. Unable to resist, you glance fully into the window.
You may find that you wish you hadn't.
Time appears to slow down to the point that you're counting milliseconds, and you feel your leg, foot, toes and ankle muscles agonizingly tightening as they brace to hit the floor in your almost eternal jog, your eyes widen at a glacial pace as you take in the sight of what, at first, appears to be a star that's right next to the ship. The star is enveloped by wheels that appear to be made of flame, with eyes of azure and jade the size of personal vehicles ever watching even as the wheels turn and spin around the star, and in the center of it, outlined by shadows that should not be, a cloaked figure with tendrils for legs sits upon a throne, it's face a tiny black void. Staring into the void, you suddenly find that air cannot reach your lungs, and your mind flashes with imagery of being kilometers beneath the surface of some great ocean, cast in total darkness, with something massive right behind you, but unable to turn, to move or attempt to swim as you feel great jaws open wide behind you and you're sucked backwards towards the maw of some
thing that you cannot even begin to understand!
Vaguely, you hear Tessa, but she sounds far, far away.
Look, all I'm saying is that Batboy is our lord and savior.
