Spoiler (click to show/hide):

They do have a few advantages. While they don't understand wings, they do have a decent grasp of propellers, and they have magitech pumps that act as solid state positive displacement pumps. That's how they point their guns at stuff, they have hydraulic systems that run on magic. No motors though, they haven't quite got the knack of continuous input/output rotation mechanisms quite yet. They have what amounts to a rotary cylinder that they use with gears for anything that needs full rotation, but they can't free spin, eventually they hit rotation limits. I'm enjoying coming up with weird technological quirks, like the 'sails' are carbon nanotube solar collectors that are flexible and can be used for both lift and power generation as well, but they don't have motors. I did some sketches, but I left them at home I think.

Any particular requests for her?

She looks at you with her good eye before throwing her head back and laughing, her mouth opening rather wide compared to normal. "Ha ha, I like this one." She tells her second in command to take over while she decides that she's on the hunt for something a bit different.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

I mean sure. Just yesterday I was coming up with the diet of a fictional village with a bunch of plants that don't exist in this world and the implications of such plants would have on the diet.

I'm not sure. I was thinking she might be a recurring character so we could take it a bit slower, but if you have no future plans for her, then we can have a one night stand.

"Glad you approve," I return the grin, before asking, "So, I'm unfamiliar with what kind of food do you keep on board?"

"I mostly keep fresh fish for myself. Some of the others don't like it when it fights back though." She tells you smugly, seeming to enjoy the chance to have fun and unwind for a bit.

I laugh before admitting, "Must say, I don't have much experience with eating fish," Before shooting her a toothy grin, "I'm a bit of a big eater, and the only fish near me were tiny river fish, so I'm looking forward to trying something new."

"Oh, a man after my own heart." She purrs to you, giving your tail a stroke with her own as she heads toward the officers mess and prepares to put in an order. That done, she takes you back toward her room, and seems to wait to see if you try to seduce her.

My tail curls around hers playfully, before letting it go as I follow her, "So, are we eating it raw, or is there a preparation for it? As I stated, I've never really eaten it before." I inquire curious about the culinary use of fish.

I decide to play it slow. After all, I just finished breeding three women not an hour ago, so I'm hardly desperate for tail... not that I'd complain if I got it, but I hope to establish a more... long term relationship with her. My, or perhaps Loren's, instincts are telling me that this is a woman I'd want on my side in the future, and having her in my bed would just be a bonus. I make small talk with her with the occasional flirt as I wait for the food to arrive.

"I like it raw, but that's a personal preference. I don't know how lizard folk take their meat." She says, placing a set of orders which soon arrive on a mobile table. There's a mix of different types of fish and vegetables, although it's very heavily leaning toward the fish side. Most of the vegetables seem to be underwater ones if you're any guess, although you recognize something similar to sea weed. Everything has a strong salty smell to it, and all of it seems delicious. The admiral prefers her fish steaks raw and lightly dried with salt to keep them from splashing everywhere, and you find them tasty as well. The cooked fish is good as well, the seasonings favoring citrus bases as well as salt and pepper giving them a pleasant tang.

She watches you eat with her one eye, and she seems to be weighing you in different manners. You are quite the curiosity it seems, and while the admiral might think you're attractive, she's definitely got a firm grip on her lusts compared to her crew and/or marines who are far more passionate. The small talk and flirting keep you both amused as you finish your meal. She's rather cagey about the repair process of the ship, beyond them being underway, and you don't push the point. She does allude to the idea of you sticking around the ship for an extended period, although that is likely more of a chance to secure additional firepower.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

She's mostly sticking to business and kind of watching Talren. She's not a prude, but she's not going to hop into bed with someone as powerful as him without a bit of feeling out. I also expect her to have a bit of political/personal savvy, and if she thinks a romp will get Talren's loyalty, she's more than willing. At least I think that's where I was going with her.

"Generally cooked, but I'm not picky," I uncommitedly shrug.

After sampling what is available I take to the cooked fish, the seasoning really bringing out a lovely flavor the raw cuts lacks. Salt is nice and all, but in excess it can be unpalatable and overwhelms the other flavors. Regardless, I eat a bit of everything, not wanting to let anything go to waste as I chat with her. Noting her interest in me staying, I politely decline, casually dropping that I came specifically due to Teresa's request, leaving out any honorifics to indicate that I am on on close terms with the Queen.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Works for me, but this does mean there is a quite interesting thing where both of them want the other on their side. I will point out that this is more Loren than Talren, as he really isn't interested in political power, who wants this, as she got very far by convincing a few strategically important people to support her or simply do what she says.(Remember that the majority don't really see her as having been a major player, and partly because of that and partly reinforcing that, a lot of her changes she wanted were made via proxy. I.E. Convincing the commander-in-chief to accept the Amazon's into the military.)

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

I'm thinking that the military is still fairly mercenary. While the officers are fairly loyal, each admiral/captain is in charge of keeping their own crew happy, and the marine/fighter pilots have a habit of moving where the rewards are best unless there's something specific they're after, such as getting stationed near their home. As such, there are 'political' games where the various admirals try to secure the best fighters to keep their team at tip top shape, which is why she's trying to woo Talren, but she's not sure what currently motivates him. Most of the marines in this instance were 'loaners' from the crown, as the Amazons are mostly associated with the crowns business.

I was also thinking that Theresa was the commander in chief, or something sufficiently similar. Maybe she's only in charge of the purse strings? Family structure wise, I was planning for there to be the queen and a champion within the royal family. Elizabeth would be the champion, and is in charge of 'settling' any challenges to the crown, but can never be queen herself. Victoria was a general scholar, and Loren was 'expected' to be the ambassador or something with Theresa being in charge as her martial attitude was a bit easier for the various political factions to manipulate. The Empire, bad guys who I've forgotten the name of, may have been the instigators, but they worked with a few factions within the political sphere. Despite being a 'kingdom' there's a great deal of negotiation going on since there's a lot of archipelago that the kingdom is protecting and taking tribute from.

You can tell she notes your lack of honorific, and seems to back off on trying to recruit you to her marine contingent. Instead, she asks about the spells you cast earlier, very curious about the blast you generated. "I've seen a few spells like that, but they were all mounted crystals." She holds her hands up, almost at her limit, and they're about the same size as the numerous magma crystals you've seen all over the military. You certainly weren't carrying any of those, so it's a bit of professional curiosity it seems.

What lie should you tell, or should you simply say it's a secret? People generate mana, so you could go with you, or your race, have a rather large supply, and you got a custom spell crystal that you can simply force mana into. Your name drop of Theresa should easily explain how you afforded or secured such a thing. And it's not that far off from the truth considering the various magical equipment you've secured so far. Given the... nature of the Amazons, you don't think you'll escape their attention for long, and this creates a good cover for anything that might happen in the future.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Sure, that's an understandable. In real life, during the medieval era, soldiers were local men drafted by their lord plus a handful highly trained men sworn to said lords(Knights/Men-at-Arms) so there was a need for the leader to keep them happy and reward them.

Problem with that is how young she was at the time. No matter what kind of genius someone might be, you don't want to give them total control of the entire army before they're even twenty. I can see her being attached to the commander-in-chief's unit to gain experience, with a group of soldiers under her command. But that's just my opinion. It could be that the kingdom has some bad habits, like placing the royal family in high positions despite them not necessarily being qualified for them. Also, I've got a question at what is the difference between the champion and Judith's role? Which I believe was captain of the guard.

I pause for a moment. Lying would be the obvious course of action... but should I? Lies are things that are eventually revealed and if I want to bring this person to my side, that will undermine it greatly when it is revealed. In fact, the truth itself can be a very useful leverage point in and of itself, as having such a unique creature that I apparently am in this world, on one's side is a great boon just by itself. That and after my daring rescue and subsequent bedding of two Amazons to the point that they can barely walk anymore, I think it's a lost cause to try and fly under their radar anyways.
"Well, I'm a bit of a special... race, to be honest," I start, trying not to sound like I'm gloating, "My race has..." I pause to consider how to explain it in a way that could be understood with their knowledge of magic, "Integrated magic crystals within our bodies that allow us to cast specific magic without the need for any external equipment. With that said, I would appreciate it if you don't tell others about it." I give a slight smile of discomfort. In truth I consider my nature being leaked a mere matter of time, but giving her that trust is a good way of either building our relationship further or ensnaring someone whom would leak secrets.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Hm, Judith takes the field on a routine basis, she was basically leading the guard while she was in mourning. The royal guard are supposed to be loyal to the 'crown' while the family champion defends the crown from anyone with 'legitimate' challenges to the royal families authority, such as rival political factions. The guard protects the crown, but the family champion keeps the crown on a Bright. It's a left over from when the royal family was still making it known they were in charge with muscle rather than a golden circlet. That said, a lot of the guards have personal attachments to the current royal family, and would not be as loyal if the Brights were ousted from power.

Also, in terms of fleets, I think I'm going to retcon a bit. There are three general military ship sizes, small, medium, large, and there's various divisions within them depending on purposes. Smalls are what do most of the patrols. Medium are the primary military ships for nation to nation disputes. Large tend to be non combatants, or something like a carrier or battleship and they're usually hanger queens. The sails are intensely black as they're very efficient solar collectors, so ships tend to have to either furl them when they get close to a target or be spotted as a huge blob of darkness moving in the sky. The kingdom is one of the only nations that fields their large ships on a routine basis, since they don't 'need' to deploy the sails as they have an alternative power source. Said powersource is only in their three, soon to be four, large/capital ships and no one else has that particular tech/magic. All of their light and medium ships are standard equipment.

"I'd only heard of people with focusing or flight gifts, nothing like that. Usually, lifeforms that favor natural attack spells can't talk. They've got too many crystals in the brain to do that much thinking." She tells you, and you do recall sensing a bit of wind magic in the insectoid people you met earlier, but no one else really seemed to do more than channel what was in the crystals. The bits that are surfacing from Loren's memory confirm that, but she wasn't a biologist. The basic concept is similar enough, although the local species are far less... refined than your own magical nature.

"Can I look your teeth?" That... was not what you expected someone to ask. The spell you used came from your mouth, or is she trying to get an excuse to touch your face?

I shrug, "I don't know my own biology much, but my family all has this ability."

"If you wish, though tell me what you hope to find," I accept though probing for her motivation.

She gives you that wide, toothy grin of hers before her fingers begin to quest about inside of your snout. The tough leathery skin peels back easily, and her fingers probe at your teeth, seeming to feel at them, before moving up to your gums and then the inside of your teeth. She tastes a bit salty, is it because she's an oceanic species. "Hm, good sturdy teeth, but I don't see any crystal projections to act as catalysts for the magic." A very faint tingling signals that she may be throwing a bit of magic your way and it is being canceled rather quickly.

Her hands withdraw from your mouth, but she doesn't put them down, continue to rub them across your face, eventually moving up to your hair and running her fingers through it. "Hmph, there goes my theory on that, although if this is any indication, you do seem to like being touched." She smirks, gesturing at your erection straining against your pants.
