Eris looks at you as you introduce yourself, not minding how hyped you are, and once you are done you can feel her gaze briefly linger on you before she moves on to Lala, which promptly introduces herself, just like the other members of unit SS1 do one after another until everyone is done. Eris doesn't say much, keeping herself expressionless until you all are done, and only then she talks <Good. It's been decided that you'll be part of this unit and under me until i get used to things around here, though it's not clear when that moment will be so we might work together for a long while. I have already heard about you being rookies> she obviously is referring only to the militias, as soldiers are commonly though as cannon fodder as well as grunts for physical work, generally girls without much importance... at least is so in the capital and most military active towns <So i'll have to get an idea about what you all can do in terms of stamina and fighting strength. Any objections?>

She is obviously taking this seriously... maybe a bit too much. Doesn't she know you all won't ever even see a wild man probably? Still, nobody is raising any objection, at least for now...

"There are no objections, Honorable Black Guard and Guard Captain Eris Linariel!" Lass replied without even really thinking about it, her own eagerness to do so, and while she didn't actually know what exactly was going to come to her as a result of all this, she did at least know that she would actually like to go through some of the training, especially since it was going to be fun for her to actually get out of here with a calm enough air about her.

Still, Lass attempted to keep a calm enough air about her now, knowing that she was going to have to impress the first proper Black Guard that she had finally had the honor of meeting, especially since she was her commander on top of everything else, although she didn't know if she was coming across as overly nervous or not.

Eris didn't mind how psyched you were about this, if anything she seemed to prefer your excited expression to the unwilling one from Cilia who evidently didn't like this sort of physical exercises. And so your new captain nods, motioning with her hand towards the field and saying <Good. let's being with a short run to test your endurance. Go around the track until i tell you to stop> which is followed by three sulking Aria, Cilia and Hana, an happy Lala and a serious Yulia going to do as ordered. Nothing strange here, aside from the glooming Hana which would usually be quite hyped about such training...

Being told to run around the field didn't seem like it was actually going to be that much of a problem, Lass having been used to running both for the militia training that they had gone through before and also for the times she had to dodge things in the Inn for the customers for some of the other days when they probably had too many people in there at once.

At the same time, Hana's gloom made her bow slightly to her, offering a low whisper of, "come on Hana, I know that you can do better then that, especially if you really do want to end up like that captain that you really do want to be. Of course, I'm fine if you don't like running either, especially since I know I'm faster than you."

And so you all being to run, being the beginning of the exercise the level of all the runners is quite even with nobody falling behind... though you knew it'll probably won't last long. After all both Aria and Cilia being in the army had the greatest stamina and would last the longer, while Lala herself was a physical type rather than intellectual and Hana being the "genius" she was wouldn't fall behind. About Yulia you didn't know, but as far as stamina was concerned, in this group you were most likely the worse one... and yet that didn't stop you from teasing Hana. No, maybe you did it on purpose? Fact is that your words rekindle her competitive spirit, washing away her gloominess and making her snort at you <Who says you're faster!> while she speeds up... too much.

This should have been a run at a steady pace, not a sprint, and yet you did it and made Hana run like an horde of wild man was chasing her. Eris from afar frowns but doesn't say anything, letting Hana do as she pleases while the others just giggle.

"It is pretty much a fact that everyone knows at this point," Lass offered, attempting to keep up with the rest of the group when she realized that she was actually going to have run to keep up with Hana, not even realizing that Eris was judging them right now, especially since it was actually kind of fun for her to run like this now, mostly because it was just fun for her.

At the same time, she did actually find her breathing was starting to betray her slightly, her running stamina just proving to be harder for her than she thought that it was actually could be for her. If anything, Hana was the only thing that was keeping her moving like this, her stretching slightly to keep up the fast pace she needed.

The difference in stamina between you and the others could be notice as time went on, but the heaviness in your breath was nothing compared to the sprinting Hana who, after having gained a lot of distance between herself and the group, finally began to lose her pace and slow down, then down and down until she was proceeding at a snail pace until the group at steady speed overtook her. Now the two of you were again side by side, at the same speed, but different heaviness in breath as Hana was evidently more fatigued than you due to her dumbness.

Hana's own inability to keep up with the rest of them now was something that Lass found somewhat amusing, especially given the way that she looked like she was out of breath now, almost making it look like Lass was the one who didn't have good stamina. Still, there is something inside of her that doesn't want Hana to get kicked out on the first day simply because of her own stupidity, her holding out a somewhat helping hand so that Hana could hold onto it if she needed to for the extra support, although given the way that Hana acted, it was more likely she was going to turn down the help and make her look even dumber than she already looked like. On the off chance she did take it, that would probably slow her down slightly, but in the interest of keeping her around, it would definitely be worth it.

Your help is appreciated by Hana as she <Humph!> and turns her head away while continuing to keep pace with you... not a wonder considering that she is indeed physically fit, so even exhausted there won't be much problem keeping up with you, the slowest of the team. Your group continues to run for another few laps before Eris calls for a break, getting you all to line up again in front of her <Good. The army girl's are up to par, and you two> she points to Lala and Yulia <Are also up to standards. Now the problem are you...> her head turn to look at you and Hana, starting with the latter <I can see you're the best one among the rookies> Hana shines as she's praised <but that's only physically. Why would you even sprint in an endurance tests?> she rebukes and the rookie next to you deflates.

<As for you> she finally turns to you <Your stamina needs some work, but at least you show some teamwork> she must have noticed how you tried to help the redhead <Good, that's it for this. Now rest for a while before we get to the sparring>

Finally stopping, it was almost impossible for Lass to actually keep her calm as she wasn't really able to do all that much now in terms of recovery, her still even panting slightly despite her best attempts at standing at attention. Still, getting some sort of praise from Eris did make Lass perk up slightly and blush, such confidence quickly being dashed when she heard what they were going to do next.

"Sparring practice, Honorable Black Guard and Guard Captain Eris Linariel?" Lass blinked for a moment, trying not to look at Hana since she knew that this was definitely one of the few areas where Hana would get her chance at some revenge under a much more official guise.

Eris nodded to your question before looking at the others and turning, walking away to leave you all alone for a while to rest. For now Hana seemed focused on getting her strength back, probably intent on overdoing it again during the next exercise, and instead the one to look for you is Lala <Still lacking endurance? You really need to shape up!> easy said from physically adept person like her.

"I've been trying to get in shape, but it's still kind of hard for me when it comes to actually practicing with breathing exercises and all that," Hana stretched, still attempting to get herself to a calm enough level while she was trying to drink some water, especially since this was somewhat hard for her to actually deal with, although she couldn't actually place how hard it was for her to do so this time. "Well, at least I'm hopefully not going to end up against someone whose too strong when sparing, especially since...well, let's just hope that nothing bad really happens."

<Well, it's not like that much worse than any regular maiden you can pick out there> Lala jokes, trying to improve your mood before Eris returned, the girl looking at the group one for one before nodding <Good, pair up and spar for a bit>

As she says so Aria and Cilia obviously go together as members of the army, while you choose...

Knowing that Lala was probably going to go easier on her than any of the other girls that were in the unit, mostly because she was the only girl in the unit that she actually knew, she did attempt to get over to her as calmly as possible, hoping that it didn't look like she was trying too hard to get to someone that Honorable Black Guard and Guard Captain Eris Linariel would catch onto what she was trying to do. Of course, that could mean that someone else could grab them as their sparring partner, but it didn't seem like that means they would actually do something like that.

As you were actually talking with Lala before you were quite near, so you were able to get to her before anyone else could get to either of you, and as such you pair up to spar while Yulia and Hana also did so, being the only two without a partner. And like so the three pairs being to spar at the same time, Eris looking on from her position, sometime nodding and sometime shaking her head, giving each single one of you all enough time to show whatever you were capable of doing, and at the end of it the results were clear.

Between you and Lala, it wasn't a surprise that your childhood friend would win. Her physical capabilities were generally above yours even if slightly, and that coupled with the high explosive strength she was famous for among all the maidens gave her enough edge over you to easily win, though she did hold back so you weren't that battered from the fight.
Among Hana and Yulia the fight was more fierce, and Hana being the fighting genius she was got her victory with skilled and agile movements.
As for Aria and Cilia, the fight was more even for both but in the end Aria was able to get the victory.

<Good, that's it for today. You all weren't half-bad, though some of you have large room for improvement> as she said the last word she looked at you for a second, before resuming <Being the first day and not really having anything to do, you're dismissed. Tomorrow morning we'll meet here again and to take up your first duty> after saying so most of the group think she's done and start disbanding, yet it seems like there is still more as she continues <To get to know each other better tonight we'll meet at the inn i'm staying, the one owned by miss Roe's family i believe, and have dinner together. Good, you can go>

"Thank you Hana," Lass panted, barely being able to stand after the way that she had fought, mostly because she just hadn't been holding back in the same way that she was, which just made it somewhat hard for her to actually get back up that much now. "I really owe you one when you get back to the inn later on."

While she didn't actually think that it would be that big of a deal, especially given how often she did visit, the fact that Honorable Black Guard and Guard Captain Eris Linariel was inviting everyone over to the inn made her blush. More than that, she was going to be staying at her inn too, which would mean that she could talk to a Black Guard about her experiences.

"Y~Y~Y~Yes Honorable Black Guard and Guard Captain Eris Linariel!" Lass bellowed all at once, barely being able to stand as it almost felt like all the air left her body for that one confirmation.

Lala, your partner for the sparring, smiles and nods at you, keeping by your side as your group regroups in formation, shoulder to shoulder.
When you answer with such enthusiasm Eris looks at you, smiling and nodding in appreciation before gesturing with her hand to scatter and going away herself.
Aria and Cilia give her goodbyes before going off by themselves, Hana just puffs while walking away while Yulia politely yet seriously salutes you before turning and going away. Now only you and Lala remained here, and it seems like she's waiting for you to lead <It's already somewhat late, but we should have some time if you want to stop by somewhere before going to your inn for the dinner>

"The Honorable Black Guard and Guard Captain Eris Linariel is staying at our inn," was all Lass could manage in response, her enthusiasm for having something like this happen clearly being beyond what she had ever even dreamed of happening, her even swooning from side to side slightly as the realization that Lala was talking to her finally did settle in, her taking a moment before she could compose herself.

"I~I mean, we should probably pick up something nice in terms of wine at the market," Lass coughed, knowing that the fancy bottles were normally something that neither one of them could really get in normal terms. "I mean...I know that the merchants there are probably going to have something from the more far-flung areas of the realm, so we could easily pick something up that would be more to the tastes of someone who is from the city...like Honorable Black Guard and Guard Captain Eris Linariel?"

Lala chuckles at your enthusiasm, letting you swoon as much as you want until you finally come down from cloud nine and get back some semblance of rational thought <Wine?> she'd repeat, going into thinking-mode herself too... maybe not too good of an idea since she's more of a physical type, letting someone with muscles for brain do the thinking couldn't lead to much good after all <Oh, i know!> oh, she knows.

Now the problem is, is the excitement flooding your mind down enough to realize you asked the wrong person for an idea? Or maybe it's not that bad, after all it's not like you asked her to build some complicated device from the engineer division or even use it, you just asked for an idea about where to buy some wine <Cilia would know better than us. She's always getting drunk after all> Relying on qualified people for advice. That's surprisingly smart coming from Lala.

Even though Lala probably wouldn't be the best person in order to get the right kind of wine she was looking for, it took a couple of moments for that idea to actually settle in for her, though it didn't seem like it would be that bad of an idea given the way that she approached the issue in a rather calm fashion, her calming down slightly when she looked around for anyone. Still, there wasn't anything that she could do now, her breathing in deeply in order to calm herself down slightly.

"You know, that would actually be the best option for us, especially if we want to get something actually good for Honorable Black Guard and Guard Captain Eris Linariel," Lass nodded, it being clear she wasn't actually thinking about it for more than she had to at the bare minimum. "Well...we should go find Cilia then, if we want the best possible thing."
