Bio - A young warrior at heart. Rowen had made a name for himself as a mercenary before he joined the royal guards. Working his way up, he realised that such a life didn't suit him. Instead, he decided to make a name for himself and cleared out bandits and other threats on his own. Now, he was standing in front of the tower that was rumoured to be guarded by a legendary demon.

The great black tower loomed before you, at least ten stories tall. Higher up above you could see some winged beasts keeping watch, though given you were standing on the bridge leading to it there was no way they couldn't have spotted you. Which meant whatever it was that lead inside was just waiting for you. It was almost taunting you, suggesting it had no need to fight you now...

Rowen looked up at the tower with a defiant glare. He had fought many kinds of demons and other daangers before. A tower just meant a place with more of such demons to kill. Looking up above it, he spots multiple winged beasts cirrcling round. There was no way they had not noticed him, which meant that they did not even perceive him as a threat. That would be their mistake. Crossing the bridge to the front door of the tower, he held his sword at the ready and slowly entered.

Walking into the tower, you were greeted with a simple hall. A rug that was shaped in a blood red cross pointed to the door you just came through and three others. In the center of the room was a strange floating crystal. Standing besides it was, of all things... an Imp in a patchy butlers suit. The imp for some reason gave you no impression of being hostile, in fact looking to you expectantly.

Rowen inspected his surroundings carefully and kept an eye on the imp. Even if it wasn't hostile right now, who knows what it would do if given the chance. Holding his sword level as he approached the imp, he watched for anything suspicious.

"You there. Tell me all you know about this place, and I will make your death a painless one. If not...I'll force out the information from you."

[Kuragari]

The Imp gives you a smile that sends shivers down your spine, as if he knows something you don't. "Hello there young warrior... another challenger for my Master's tower I take it?" He nods his head before you can answer as he adds "Of course you are. Hmm, well, let me start by telling you what this is. You'll likely become very familiar with it."

Patting the gem, he smiles and says "There's one of these on every floor, and any time you fail a challenge in one of the rooms, you'll be sent back to the one on that floor. There's more to it than that, but you'll find that out if you fail heheh~."

Rowen glares as he listens to the imp. He feels like slashing him apart but he was the only aid at the moment.

"Hmph, for one who serves your Master, you give such info freely. Hah! As if failure will affect me. No matter how tough the situation, I'll still press on and smash through whatever defenses your master has."

Disregarding the Imp after that, he looks at the three other doors before taking the one in the center.

The Imp just chuckles to himself, while you head on up to the door. Opening it reveals a hallway... and standing in the center of it is three regular imps, all of whom are unarmed but smile as they see you, screeching out expletives as they flap their wings and come racing towards you!

(Agility Roll- 5, you go first)

Rowen glared at the three imps charging, internally insulting their intelligence. His blade would make quick work of this, especially if they were charging headlong to their death. Gripping his sword tightly, he charged at them as well, ready to cut them down in swinging arcs.

[Kuragari]

(Str Roll- 5, dmg roll-8, two imps down. Imp str roll-3 miss)

They are suprised by your sudden charge, your sword cleaving through two of them with no trouble whatsoever and sending their bloodied forms to the side. The third flies past you as it lets out a shriek of terror, followed by one of anger. The imp then turns around and begins gesturing it's hands.

(Imp Spi Roll-1 fail)

But nothing seems to come of it, leaving you free to engage it again.

Rowen gave a roar as he sliced through the two imps, turning promptly to charge at the final imp. Watching it perform some gestures has him slightly concerned and slowed down a bit, but when nothing happened, he dashed forward, aiming to take down the last imp.

(Str Roll-3 miss. Imp Spi Roll-3 Fail)

You narrowly miss the Imp as he quickly realizes his own efforts hadn't had any effect, flying up and out of the reach of your sword. He again does the arcane gestures, and while this time the spell seems to go off, nothing further happens. The Imp lets out a string of curses, turning and flying away from you in an attempt to escape!

Rowen once again guards himself when the imp starts moving his hands in arcane gestures. However, nothing happened and he smiled. Seeing the imp try to flee however, Rowen chased after it, and if it remained out of his reach, he would throw his blade like a spear and attempt to either cleave or impale the imp.

The Imp managed to remain out of your reach, proving himself rather swift, but not swift enough to avoid your blade as it came flying in at him. It impaled him and sent the demon tumbling to the floor. After a moment, the body faded, and a small chest appeared. It was at this point you notice the room was not just a mere hallway, but a four way. A large door with a skull lock sat at the end opposite the door you came from, while two other doors were to your left and right.

Cheering as he watched the imp get impaled and then fade away, he apptoached rhe chest and contemplated opening it. If it was a trap, he would not have much time to react. However, he would need as much help as provided. He opened the chest slowly, at the same time noting the large door with a skull lock. Most likely the boss room. If he didn't get the key, he would take the door on the left.

Inside the chest was a collection of gems, which would no doubt be worth a fair amount of money. You count out about thirty of them, but find nothing else of interest inside it.

Heading to the door on the left, you opened it, peering inside to find a large square room that had another door at the end of it. Along the edges of the room was a moat full of a strange green liquid, but what caught your attention was what was in the center of the room- a young Minotaur, who stomped it's hooves as it saw you. It was holding two battle axes in it's hands and it looked ready to fight.

"This'll be worth quite a lot! This could feed all those kids and more living in the slums. I'll keep this."

Seeing nothing else of interest however, he proceeeded to the left door. Entering cautiously, he had caught sight of the minotaur as well as the moat surrounding the edges of the room. If he wasn't careful, falling into it would no doubt be bad. He held his blade at the ready, planning to jump aside if the minotaur charge.

(Agi Roll-1, Minotaur goes first. Min Str roll-5 Dmg roll-13 Vigor roll to soak- 3, fail 1/8 Wounds)

The Minotaur charges you once the door closes, and though you move to jump aside, he swings out, the backside of one of his axes catching you in the back and sending you flying into the center of the room, landing roughly as pain lanced through you. Your back throbbed from where his blow had struck you, and the beastman was already turning to engage you again as you collected yourself.

Though he barely dodges the minotaur's charg, he was still struck in the back by the axes and groaned in pain as the force sent him flying to the center of the room. He had to pull himself up quickly. The minotaur was already planning to charge again. He tries to roll to one side and wait before jumping aside and striking again, hoping the minotaur would overcharge into the moat.

(Mino Str Roll- 6, Rowen Str roll- 4. Dmg Rolls- 7 (no damage to you) 3 (no damage to Minotaur)

The minotaur comes charging once more. You are again caught by him in a strike, but it's a glancing hit as the axe clangs against your armor, leaving a small dent and crack as you lash out against him too. Sadly though, your strike only manages a shallow cut, earning a grunt from the beast man but no more.

Perhaps another strategy is needed... you find your eyes glancing towards the moat, wondering briefly what might happen to the Minotaur if you can get him to charge into it.

Grunting as he only receives a glancing hit to his armour, he shakes his head as he too makes a glancing hit at best. Eyeing the moat, he positions himself near the edge of it, waiting for the charge before he woulf dash aside. It was a high risk attempt. If he succeeded, the moat would deal with the minotaur. If not, either they both fell in or the minotaur would send him flying in.
