Golems are Earth creatures, automotons are usually Fire, or more recently Storm if they rely on electricity rather than combustion. Your father's famous monster is both Earth, due to being made of corpse parts, and Storm (he's actually an example in the book).

The book also points out that White magic can be generated from many of these Primal Sources, and are not confined to a Source of their own.

The book also describes some of the rituals that can help you to find or enhance your connection to a Primal Source. The discovery rituals are not too complex, and you could probably do several in an afternoon.
