Character Name: Lt Crysta Azzata (Right)(Primary)
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Age: 25
Character Gender: Female
Character Backstory: Raised in a small town in western Ontario, Crysta grew up as daddy's sweet little girl with her family, but in reality was anything but the stereotype. Though she loved her parents to death, she still ended up with quite an aggressive and forward attitude. Mixed with a quick temper, she became known is quite the little nuisance as a child and target of young boys everywhere. As she aged though and matured into a busty bombshell, she found that boys now chased her for entirely different reasons, which really only made her mean strike that much worst as she fought off horny boys that judged her for her body and not her skills. Oddly enough then it came as a large surprise to her family when she decided to enlist in the army, deciding to enroll as an infantier at the age of 17. This was mainly an effort to prove to herself that she was more then her looks, and though initial training went pretty much as she expected being one of the few girls in a sea of men, eventually she succeeded. As her career progressed, she took harder and harder combat courses. Ranging from advanced reconnaissance, to sniper training, to vehicle crew commanding, to even repelling and jump courses; outperforming her fellow men by a mile.

Finally earning the the begrudging respect of her fellow men, Crysta found herself not caring about that anymore and simply reveled in the challenges of military life. Not to be done there, she took undertook a subsidized degree in Combat Strategic Theory at a military university, and once completed undertook infantry officer training. When she completed that though, she was very disappointed when her first post as an officer was in a recruitment center in Niagara Falls. It was utterly boring, but after five months in is when it happened: the 'Gate' incident. At first is was a bloody massacre, but after Canadian and American military unit the massacre quickly switched feet as the archaic army was eliminated with extreme prejudice. Crysta herself was honored, along with her close friend Trista, after saving numerous civilian lives, and for her efforts was allowed to join the joint counter invasion.

Character Name: Sgt Trista Reiling (Left)(Secondary)
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Age: 26
Character Gender: Female
Character Backstory: Quiet and reserved, but most certainly not shy, Trista is a native of Niagara Falls from the American side, though is technically a dual citizen. She is honest and probably a little blunt to a fault, making her stub on some toes unintentionally with her observations. She is a bit of a recluse, with a love of anime and games, but certainly has no problems with outdoor activities either. She joined the American army mostly as a way to test her skills and to get a good education. Focusing on vehicle mounted warfare and maintenance, she is able to keep weapons and vehicles running under the harshest of conditions. She is also a quick study, and loves learning new things whether it be modern technology or interesting medieval tinkerings. She met Crysta during a Christmas soldiers ball in Niagara Falls, a few days after purple haired girl was posted into the city, and quickly became fast friends with the young Canadian officer.

As their friendship grew in a few months they had known each other, she and Crysta decided to do a shopping trip on the American side of the city, where she tried to introduce the other girl to her finer nerdier interests. Of course though it was interrupted when the 'Gate' appeared. Forcing them to act to save numerous civilian lives from both countries as swordsmen and dragons poured from the dimensional gate that appeared on the American side of the of the Falls. Recognized by both Countries for her bravery along Crysta, Trista too is given the honor of accompanying the invasion force to the other world.

Several weeks ago, the 'Other Side' forced open a 'Gate' into New York near Niagara where they began their attack. Masses of infantry, monsters, and dragon riders began marching out into the area and laying waste to the local countryside. Their attack was unopposed for hours until the military responded, and they responded with a vengeance. Massed infantry is the queen of the battlefield, versatile, quick, and difficult to stop. But modern artillery is king of the battlefield, and it is well known what the king does to the queen. It took far longer to pick the survivors of the militaries response out of the craters than it took to put them in there.

At the next attempted attack, the military was ready, forcing their way through the 'Gate' in a matter of moments, the 'Other Side' doing little more greasing the military's treads as tanks, and other AFV's rolled through their lines to decimate the enemy camp. The first response seems tame by comparison looking back on it, as the enemies few buildings and tents are razed, their remaining army only survives at a fraction of their former size having too many balls to surrender or simply not understanding.

The area around the Gate is now a fortress, the area around it cleared of trees and cover. The base of operations features numerous towers, covering every conceivable point of attack with sniper fire, indirect fire, and air defenses. The Gate now belongs to NATO, and NATO will not be dislodged. Having done finished the safe location, the Brass has decided it is time to start with all the 'Hearts and Minds' part of the campaign now that the other side knows what happens when you bring swords to a gun fight.

You, Lt. Azzata and Sgt Reiling will be sent out into the wild with your wits and weapons. And a fresh attempt by the Military Industrial Complex to get paid, a variant of the Stryker Platform modified for use in the Other Side. It features a lighter 76mm main gun with a 7.62 co-ax in a sealed turret, with smoke launchers and other utilities while still being able to carry a full eight people and extended range. The big gun will make short work of any aggressive dragons or small buildings, but is still light enough that you can carry plenty of ammo and fire quickly. Fully stocked with both foods and ammo, the vehicle waits for your final checks before you set out.

"Your mission is to win over the hearts and minds of the locals by spreading the word that we'll treat them fair, unlike their nasty old lords and ladies." Your CO tells you before sending you on your way. "Pick up anything else you think you might need from the armory and be on your way. Dismissed L-T."

"Sir!", Crysta and Trista respond to their task force CO, snapping to attention and saluting then quickly filing out of his office and into the hall. As soon as the door clicks shut behind them Crysta's face as nearly split in half by the size of her grin. She cups her face and giggles almost drunkenly.

"Oooh yeah! Unrestricted NATO armory access!", Crysta gushes, "So many cool American toys to use!"

"Haven't you used it all before? Why is it so exciting now?", Trista asks, looking genuinely confused.

"Range shooting and familiarization only I'm afraid. Actual field use? Thats something entirely different. I'm going to get an EMR, and a P226, and a-", Trista shoves her purple haired friend slightly, letting her know she's rambling, "Okay okay, I get it! Stopping."

They trade some idle gossip as they exit the HQ, heading over to the Armory and attached motor pool. It doesn't take much longer then a few minutes before they're there, and once inside. Crysta once again goes full child as she gazes at the guns lining the walls. While Trista is far more reserved, she too smiles slightly as she gazes upon all the weapons, fully intending to use the blank check they'd been granted.

True to what she was saying earlier, Crysta immediately snatches up an American M39 EMR and lovingly cradles the marksman's rifle. She quickly places the rifle on a bare table in the middle then grabs herself a matte black SIG P226 9mm sidearm with holster, also placing it on a table. She also grabs an M1014 shotgun, and the Canadian made C14 Timberwolf and C7 service rifle with under slung grenade launcher. That done she gets a bag and starts dumping in some empty mags for her chosen weapons. Trista on the other hand grabs an M27 IFR, a P226 like Crysta, a M249 SAW, and a finishes off with an M32 grenade launcher. After she gets her mags the two of them also grab a trio of AT4 rockets, as well as a box of frag grenades, a couple boxes of various colored smoke grenades, and lastly a box of para-flare tubes. With there haul gathered they load it all up into a cart and wheel it out to motor pool where their Stryker was waiting for them mostly loaded already, smiling and waving as they passed by the quartermaster who simply looked at the two girls like they were insane.

"I got drum mags for my C7... that is so awesome.", said Crysta.

"No... Thats awesome." Trista rebutted, pointing ahead.

In a bay all to its own a single Stryker stood alone looking pristine and immaculate, its main gun staring straight ahead and promising deadly force. This time it was Trista who got all giddy, practically skipping over to the new and virgin vehicle, jumping up on top and plopping herself into the drivers hole. She didn't get much time to admire the view though, as it was Crysta's turn to return her partner to reality.

"All right there bubble gum princess, you'll get to admire it soon enough. We got a ton of shit to load first.", said Crysta, which got a quiet sigh from the pink haired girl.

The went at it quickly enough, but it still took the better part of two hours to load all the gear. With seats on the right removed, the managed to past a literal ton of ammunition, rations, fuel, water, plus their personal kit. By the time they were done the floor was more or less compltely covered, making it seem more like a flat with all the boxes and ammo cans stacked up to the seats. Their weapons were separated, hanging on webbing on the opposite sides of the vehicles, along with their rucks. They had already set their sleeping bags over the boxes and remaining bench seat, meaning they were pretty much good to go!

They quickly geared up in their combat equipment and armor and donned their helmets, quickly mounting up with Trista in the drivers hole and Crysta in the Commanders hatch in the turret. Crysta was initially confused by the lack of a gunners hatch, but as she climbed in her question was answered when she noticed the hulking auto loader that would be in the third crewman's seat. It appeared she was gunner as well, witch of course wasn't really a problem. Trista quickly powers the vehicle up, letting it do its five second run cycle before cranking the engine and making the vehicle rumble to life. It was surprisingly quiet, perhaps it was electronic assisted like those Swedish tank destroyers she couldn't recall the name off? In any case Crysta dons her comms headset and flicks it on.

"Vehicle radio check. You hear me Trista?", Crysta asks. Quickly enough a clear crisp voice responds.

"Yeah I hear you, and wow this things runs great!", was Trista's enthusiastic response.

"All right then! Take us to the main gate then!"

Immediately the AFV lurches forward, riding along a smooth suspension and outside motor pool floor and onto the bases dirt roads, heading to the main gate. As they head there Crysta flicks a switch on her radio to to broadcast to the HQ freq.

"Eagle, this is Dove one. Radio check and requesting permission to join the net, over."

As you begin to load up the large volume of firepower, the armorer shakes their head as it gets stacked onto a cart along with the appropriate ammunition for the stuff. Once your shopping spree is done, they finish listing all of the parts and then hand over the paperwork for you to sign the material out with. They point you to a new section that has just been added based on where you are, bladed weapons. It seems that many people among the locals don't know what guns do, so intimidation may require the use of swords or axes as the case may warrant.

Having finished the loading of your Stryker variant through the rear hatch, you prepare to leave, sitting in the seat directly behind the driver to control the remote sealed turret. Turning it on, the Diesel powerplant roars to life from the inside, quickly quieting back down as the components come to speed and begin to prepare for duty. The 'systems check' light flashes from yellow to green and stays there, alerting the two of you that you're ready to go. Your full panoramic screens switch from status displays to the surrounding building, with a few choice bits of information sticking around in a semi-transparent set of dials and gauges across the bottom of the screen.

As you finish your radio communication after getting permission, Trista eases on the gas and the vehicle begins to roll forward under its own power and under your command. Swinging out into the drive circle, you see the gate you're heading for begin to swing open and let you out. Heading out past a few remaining craters and burnt out tree clusters, you follow the road for a few minutes before you reach new ground only seen be recon and cameras.

You come to a cross roads and stumble through the words written on the sign, and try to match it up with the map visible to one side of the screen you're using. You spot a nearby village and a few of the routes lead to various resource gathering locations such as a logging farm and a quarry, as well as a distant city.

The two girls stay silent and temper their excitement as the pass trough the couple clicks of war torn ground were the mostly buried remains of 60,000 unknown hostile soldiers laid dead. Spears and swords and fragments of shields and armor lay strewn over the cratered ground. The army had been utterly archaic and ancient by modern standards, and the ensuing battle hadn't been a contest in the slightest. All it took was mere minutes as the confused men were gunned down by weapons they likely did not even comprehend, and now they lay dead... and for what?

"Well... Hopefully we can find out. Or at very least who if not why.", thought Crysta.

After they passed the battlefield and entered the bordering woods on a native dirt road, Crysta used the screens to check the crude drawn map that had been uploaded to her vehicle, suddenly wishing for real GPS for when they got further out and the maps created by drone flight ended. By thems was the beans she guessed, no need to worry about that. When they arrived at the first intersection in a few minutes, Crysta checked her screen against the signs. While logging may be useful it certainly has no pressing concern, and the quarry was certainly nothing to bother with. That really left only the village or the city. The choice was obvious n the end.

"Head for the village Trista, lets start with whats at our doorstep first."

"Roger that.", came Trista's quickly reply, and soon enough they were once again rolling down a narrow dirt road headed for the nearby village.

Your wheels grind as they turn toward the village path and your engine grunts as you begin to head toward the unknown village. Your onboard computer continues to fill in bits and pieces of the map with imagery taken from the cameras, forwarding the information back to base to build a better map that isn't purely aerial in nature.

As you drive along, you note how the land changes from the rolling hills to a bit of light forest and back again. The distance to the village is marked by the gradually increasing presence of farmland as opposed to the rough wilds from before. Seeing little else going on, you are surprised when (encounter:9) you spot a tree thrown across the road. Looking around at the copse of trees you find yourself in (TAC:13+4), you see some drag marks telling you that this is likely some kind of trap. Flipping the thermal imager on, you see a handful of people in the trees and some in the bushes around your vehicle.

The people appear to be waiting in ambush, but are glancing among themselves as Trista pulls to a stop in front of the fallen tree, waiting for your orders. While your all terrain vehicle wouldn't be slowed down to simply drive around it, this could be part of that hearts and minds thing. Removing the tree would make the nearby village a better place, as would ridding the area of some bandits. There's a winch on the front of the Stryker and a few bursts of machinegun fire would take care of the bandits, if that is indeed what they are. There aren't a lot of witnesses for your good deed however, and driving around the obstacle to go find some locals would give the bandits time to flee. You could also try negotiating with them to see if they are bandits, or if they can be talked into an honest living.

"Woah. Contact front. Hold up Trista.", Crysta says.

"Looks like six people in the bushes. Bandits?", Trista replies.

"Possible. Could also be people from the village trying to clear the road."

"Or block it. Certainly with all the noise our guns made and the fact the armies that came this way did not return they might just be spooked and trying to defend themselves."

"True... Well I'm going to use the speaker to make contact. If they rush the vehicle just back up then rev the engine on high idle. Hopefully the noise will scare them."

"Roger that."

Their brief exchange over, Crysta wastes no time and sets her radio to go to the external speaker. At the same time she uses her magnetic optics to see if they are carrying any swords or spears and stuff like that.

"I can see you in bushes you know. Come out and you will not be harmed."

The language studying you've done is more than enough to cover the bit of information you want to get across and Trista gives you the thumbs up, agreeing with your choice of words, she always was the better study. You manage to coax them out of cover and a few people come out of the bushes to cautiously approach the roaring beast that speaks their language with the voice of an attractive woman. They appear haggard, as most people of this technology level do, but few of them are armed with anything more menacing than a pitchfork or a boar crossbow, nothing of a threat.

The head toward the front of the vehicle, looking at the long barrel of the 76mm cannon, clearly thinking it's the 'creature's' neck. Others glance at the aluminum oxide view ports thinking they're eyes. The idea that they might be villagers is looking stronger, so it might behoove you to introduce yourself as a human being instead of pretending to be a talking metal monster.

Seeing the haggard people exit the bushes, its clear to her these were just frightened villagers. That or they had a really good act going in the face of some terrifying green monster they had never seen before. Crysta fishes around for her pocket book on the native's language, compiled from captured prisoners from their first invasion. At the same time she uses the intercom in the vehicle to speak to Trista.

"Alright, they look harmless enough. Kill the engine but keep the power on. I'm going to open my hatch, but don't open yours just in case."

"Wilco." Trista replies.

When the engine cuts out Crysta rises, opening the hatch and standing on her seat. When her helmeted head pops out of the hatch she does her best to not laugh at their incredulous faces, but being the cautious soldier she is, she draws her sidearm and holds it out of sight. Her other arms exiting the hatch to wave at them.

"Hello there!", Crysta starts, "My name is Lieutenant Crysta Azzata, and I mean you no harm."

It probably came out a little broken, but hopefully they got the gist of it. Worst came to worst she could always get Trista to do the talking considering her better grasp on the language.

They're startled, at first, when you rise from the hatch. They soon approach, and getting a closer look at the vehicle, seem to recognize it for what it is: a metal carriage. It's existence is close enough to something they're familiar with that they don't raise the torches and pitchforks shouting 'witch' or whatever the local equivalent is.

You think your words got translated okay, and Trista speaks in your ear agreeing with your choice of diction. They don't quite surround you, but do form a tightly packed group while keeping their distance as they greet you. You see a few of the men give you appreciative glances as your uniform, while not flattering, can't hide your womanly figure. You ignore them, as they lack anything you really want from them.

It occurs to you that you could make use of the winch on the front (or back) of the Stryker to grab the fallen tree and drag it away. If it doesn't want to move, you can always get out the axes, or if you're feeling like testing the weapons, the big gun. That last option, while tempting is likely to leave a crater in the road, as well as get you in trouble when the camera footage is reviewed.

Crysta sighs in annoyance, her eyes rolling as they, of course, stare at her tits. Having a huge and perky rack was really useful but at other times, such as now, it could really be a double edged sword. More worrisome though is the lack of a response,so she decides to address them again.

"I come from 'The Gate', hoping to learn about your people. May I ask why you blocked the road?", Crysta asks.

If she doesn't get her point across she would get Trista to repeat what she said. On the other hand she really isn't worried about the tree, they could always drive around it or probably just over it even. Still though, it would be preferable to get the villager to agree to move it and then she would stun them with the front recovery winch. If six men could move it with her hands she was sure the Stryker could move it with no problem.

As you talk to them, they continue to nod to your chest, fascinated by the movements talking creates. While they're somewhat aware of the Gate, as it was rather a big deal for the local area, they're not very knowledgeable about the thing in general. They were not happy with the military forces moving through their area, as many soldiers are poorly disciplined and don't wait until they're on enemy territory before they begin with the looting and pillaging, not to mention the raping.

They're a bit surprised when you ask why they blocked the road. After a bit of discussion among themselves for clarity, they tell you that the road was blocked by some bandits that reside in the forest. The bandits had been trying to talk the locals into doing business with them, but the town had steadfastly refused to deal with dangerous brigands such as them, and the bandits decided to make an example of the town.

This seems like a good place to make a difference. No matter how tough those brigands are, they're no match for something like your Stryker, right?

"Good for you! Way to stick by your morals! My people find that to be a most desirable trait." Crysta says, then continues, "If one of you is willing to guide us to the bandits we will take care of them. Forcefully if necessary. Oh! And stand back from the tree. We'll move it for you."

It was a bit wordy, but once again if she couldn't get the point across she would just have Trista repeat her words. After she gets their response, she flicks on vehicle intercom again.

"Alright Trista, start up and use the front winch to move the tree."

"Can do." Trista replies.

Once again, Crysta does chokes back a smile and a laugh when the grown men jump at the sound of the AFV roaring to life, a thin plume grayish smoke bursting out of the exhaust pipe before the engine equalized fuel consumption and brought it to a more clean burn and making the exhaust nearly invisible other then the heat waves it generated. As the vehicle rolls slowly toward the tree Crysta hopes the winch will hook to the tree the first time so she would have to get out and do it by hand. Perhaps when they returned to base she should request a dozer blade for pushing obstacles out of the way easier.

(INT: 11+3)
(Luck: 14)
(I don't know what's up with my dice tonight.)

You communicate well enough that everyone understands you and you see a few of them stand taller at being complemented. They inform you that they don't know exactly where the bandits hideout is, but they do know it's within a certain copse of trees that used to be useful for gathering firewood before the bandits moved in. They're skeptical that a woman with a metal carriage could dislodge the bandits, especially without a sword on your back to even hint at the idea that you're a warrior.

Your thoughts about a dozer blade of some kind reminds you that the GD representative on the base asked you to send him any recommendations for upgrades to include as the Stryker variant in question is still in prototyping phase. Anything they can do to improve the performance of the vehicle is something they'll be happy to help with.

As you move forward and the hook on the winch drops loose, a few of the townsfolk have a brainwave and decide to help. A few of them move forward and wrap the cable and hook around the tree a few times, guessing at what you want from what you've been saying and recognizing a hook and rope when they see one. This doesn't stop them from putting quite a bit of distance between themselves and your vehicle as soon as they're done.

Trista gives the engine a rev in reverse, and the cable snaps taught. With a shuddering groan, the tree begins to roll to one side before slowly being dragged out of the roadway, divits left where a few branches dug into the ground. Once it's clear of the roadway, the sergeant eases back forward to take the tension of the cable and a few men move forward in awe at the ease with which you moved the giant tree. They quickly untie the cable and the winch winds it up.

You could be neighborly and offer them all a ride back to town. They'd have to ride outside though, considering the amount of ammunition you've packed all over the floor, as well as their numbers. If you tried, you could probably put up some of the ammunition somewhere else so that you could invite a few people in without having them walking on ammo cans. The two rear benches you were planning to sleep on would also be easier to get to.

Crysta was certainly pleased with the initiative of townspeople, quite happy they dealt with the inch for her. They seemed decent enough, and she couldn't really blame the men for ogling her chest, as pretty much everyone did since they were so much larger then the norm at whopping double E. She decides to throw a little gratitude towards them and offer them a ride. They'd have to ride on top though since she didn't trust them enough to try and swipe something from the back.

"Thank you for the help! If you would like I could bring you back to town before dealing with the bandits. Just climb on top and grab hold of the carriages... uh... head."

"Are you sure thats wise Crysta?", Trista's voice crackles in her ear.

"Well, nothing ventured nothing gained right?"

(INT:7+3 Fail)
Trista's attempt (INT: 12+9)

You don't get your point across as a few of the people look at you blankly. Trista attempts to cover for you, rapidly describing what they should do. The towns folk do their best to clamber aboard and cling to the cargo webbing on the outside of the vehicle. Trista drives very slowly, accelerating as gently as possible to keep people from falling off. Fortunately, the road seems to have been recently graded so you're not being thrown around and everyone manages to stay on as you make your way back to the town.

An hour or so later, everyone is climbing down from the vehicle into the town, many of them stretching their legs and stumbling from the ride. You see what you think is a fairly typical little village, a few larger community buildings and shops that double as houses for the work folk. They don't quite seem to have a market, but they've definitely got a few different shops that offer foodstuffs to top off your reserves and stave off the dreaded MREs from your diets. That said, the food itself doesn't seem like anything to write home about, only a small part of it looking as fantastic as what you see in movies.

The villagers who were with you approach once they've worked out all of the kinks, telling you that they've all pitched in and decided to buy the two of you a night on the town for taking care of the tree for them. Of course, you're sure that more than a few men only pitched in because they wanted to see you walk around with your breasts swaying.

Crysta giggles a little nervously at the men, but at this delicate stage she doesn't want to come off as rude for flat out refusing so instead tries to deflect for now.

"That is uh, very kind of you to offer gentlemen, but we'll go deal with the bandits first and then we'd love to have you show us around. Now we're going to need a person or two to come with us, just so you can see what we can do. Hopefully I can convince them to leave, but if should come to violence I would like to prove to you that our bite is much worse then our bark."

"Not to sure they have the same comparisons as us.", Trista chimes in.

"Crap. Well, we'll find out I guess."

Between the two of you, mostly Trista, you manage to get your point across. Quite a few of the men and one or two of the women volunteer to go with you. You'll have to pick one from their numbers depending on who you think is most useful. (Pick a character, I'll figure something out for a personality) You'll also need to decide if you want to let the witness into your IFV with you, or if you want them to hang back a ways before you engage; it would be a bad idea to fire the 76mm gun with somebody sitting next to it un protected.

After selecting your companion for the trip, you rumble off toward the section of forest that the bandits are hiding out in. You've got an hour or so between when you leave and when you expect to arrive at the probable bandit locale. You make sure to scan the trees as you drive through, rotating around the various views making sure nothing tries to ambush you.

Crysta decides to grab an older looking man who appears to be in his mid forties. He appears to be a blacksmith if the heavy apron on his front is any indication, and has grey speckled black hair and a big bushy mustache and beard. He seemed to have his next wife next to him, so she wasn't worried about too much else save some more stares at her chest, plus he struck her as a respected member of the community. His word of their actions seemed the least likely to be dismissed outright. She would have much rathered to bring one of the pretty girls with her, but in this archiac society a mans voice was probably more valuable, though Crysta hated to admit it. Oh well, at least change was coming that was for sure. She lets the man know he can bring his wife or a friend with him if she wishes, as two witnesses were better then one. She tells the man to jump on top but makes sure to give him (or them) instructions to get off the vehicle when they make contact with the bandits for his own safety and to cover his ears.

Quickly enough their off with there observer, and headed toward this firewood copse. She flicks through all the sites on her vehicle determined to find the bandits at their base where she could display a show a force, hopefully without actually needing to kill anyone.

The blacksmith seems to meander in his decision on whether or not bring his wife before she gets fed up and smacks him upside the head and points to the Stryker. They both climb aboard, clinging to the side of the turret right behind your head. You pass them up a set of headsets so that they can hear and talk to you on the trip and you grill them for information about the bandits. It seems they've only been active for a few weeks, shortly after the Gate was established. They're most likely deserters from the army that tried to invade, so it's possible they'll know what the big three inch gun pointed at them means.

The blacksmiths' wife does most of the talking as the smith himself desperately clings to the side of the turret, holding onto one of the smoke launchers for balance. Most of the bandits pillaging has been directed at travelers rather than the village itself, possibly because they lack the numbers to successfully pick a fight with the village proper. However, several remote farms have been raided, kidnappings and a few buildings torched. You rub your eyes at the mention of kidnappings, that means there's an appreciable chance that the bandits have prisoners.

You think you could convince the villagers that forced entry into a bandit stronghold was too risky and simply putting a few 76mm high explosive shells into any buildings or caves you find was the safest course of action, but do you want to? You could always use the remote turret hanging off the side of the main turret and pick them off with the .50 bmg variant. Switch the multifeed to rubber rounds and you won't get too much over penetration, just a few cratered chest cavities.

Crysta cursed at the mention of kidnappings, meaning if things turned violent she couldn't just pound them with the big gun. Still though, her initial course of action was to fire the 76mm at nearby group of trees to scare the bandits. If they were survivors from the battle there was a good chance they wouldn't try to fight if she brought their nightmares to them. If they did though she would get Trista to use the remote .50 to pick off the bandits while she used the coax 7.62mm loaded with standard ball rounds. She would make careful sure not to shoot at any buildings or caves with the coax though, last thing she needed was a ricochet to kill someone. Worst come to worst, they would have to dismount and finish the rest on foot.
