Into the Wastes (TCEL+KURAGARI)

Postby Kuragari » Sun Apr 13, 2014 11:47 pm

The vast high rising city of Cytesca is one of the last bastions of civilization, and it is ruled by a cabal of corporations working together to continuously line their pockets with money. Inside the city, the wealthy live at the very top of the many skyscrapers, able to lord their wealth over the poor masses that live below them. The lower you go, the worse things become. Few people ever dream of getting themselves up to the highest in the city, simply hoping to find their way into a level above the one they're stuck in. Those not being oppressed by the CEO's are busy being squished into the dust by the Crime Syndicates instead.

Outside the relative safety of the city is the wastes, a semi-radioactive land full of monsters, mutants, and brigands, with the occasional settlement that is anywhere from bronze-age tech to pre-1800's. The land is only now beginning to recover from the cataclysm that nearly destroyed humanity, but much of it is still barren and lifeless. Few venture out here, unless their crazy, desperate, or on the run.

You are one of the few that possibly fits all three.

Race: Cyborg
Occupation: Ex-cop
Description:

Bio: Six years back, a young, bright-eyed girl by the name of Cassandra joined the corporate police. While she'd heard the rumours of what the corporations were willing to do, all to make a quick profit no matter the consequences... She didn't believe them. Such rumours were always spread by crazy people! Right? Either way, she was trained for a year before being deemed ready to actually work- in this time, she'd learned how to use a variety of weapons, how to defend herself in hand-to-hand combat, how to set up electronic security systems (and as a result, how to crack them), amongst other various things.

Her work was pretty uneventful, despite the excitement of her training... It was mostly just manning checkpoints and patrolling the halls. Rather dull, since it was pretty much entirely making sure people were working. She never got to do anything exciting! However, that opportunity presented itself after two boring years.

Cassandra was approached by one of her superiors- a man by the name of Jack Winter. A gruff, older man, he always seemed the reliable, 'in control' types that she always looked up to. He wanted her for a particular job- and only after agreeing was she allowed to know the details. She agreed quite quickly- why would she not trust him? Perhaps she'd even earn his favour, which would bring her up the ranks much quicker. How she ended up wishing she didn't.

Her job was to kill a man. One of the higher ranking men in a rival corporation. Alone. She was to infiltrate, she was to kill, then she was to get out all by herself. She wouldn't be carrying any gear that could tie her back to the corporation that she worked for- that would mean no guns, no armour, anything. Nothing that would help her out. This would definitely be a test of her resourcefulness. Everything went well at first... She'd knocked out a guard and stolen his uniform and weapons, which got her through every checkpoint surprisingly easily.

Too easily. When she reached her target... She was greeted by an empty office. The doors locked behind her, everything shut, and gas filled the room. She was knocked unconscious. Captured. For months, years even, she was tortured and raped over and over, and experimented on with cybernetics and genetic mutations. Eventually, she broke out. She didn't even remember how. All she knew was that a drunken guard came into her cell, waving his dick around...

And then she'd escaped, wearing his uniform, with his weapons. A collapsible assault rifle, a pistol, and a baton. Not that she needed the baton... At this point, her body itself was a weapon. A deadly one in melee combat. Her cybernetics were entirely black ops, enhancing her strength, toughness and speed greatly. Her brown hair and eyes... They'd become silver and purple, from the experimentation performed upon her.

And so, she was on the run from the 'law', now a twenty-six year old woman.

Your a few miles out from the edge of Cytesca, and are looking down at two of the Corporate MP's who had given chase. So far, they're the only ones who managed to catch up to you, not that it did them any good, considering their dead. Your head is still fuzzy, both on how you escaped, and even your past. All you remember is that the last few years have been hell, and that you'd very much rather forget about them.

But, do so, your going to need to avoid being recaptured.

Calling up your internal database, you take a quick look around, trying to figure out exactly where outside the city you are. It takes a moment, but you find that you are currently south of the city. The nearest potential hiding place is a nearby Mining Facility that was abandoned decades ago when it ran out of resources. Of course, its not likely abandoned now-though your memories are fuzzy, you still remember that the wastes are a dangerous place.

"Pathetic..." Cassandra spat upon the corpses, glaring. She hadn't even broken a sweat yet. Outrunning these guys was easy, but their sheer numbers were annoying. It was probably one part skill and two parts luck that'd kept her alive all this time. Perhaps a bit of vengeful hatred as well. Holstering her pistol, the cyborg woman would give a simple nod. The mines... Or the wastes. The mines were a possibility, but probably filled with vagrants or much more shady characters that'd more likely try to kill her, rape her, or enslave her. Surprisingly, it was the safer of two options- she could deal with a couple of bums and thugs, probably hide herself among them while she planned her future movements.

If that failed, she had run out of hiding places that weren't simply the open wastes. "Fuck..." She muttered to herself. Checking her equipment, she'd unfold her rifle, checking it was loaded and the safety was still on before heading towards the abandoned mines.

(GM Roll-17, no encounter)

It takes about two hours, but you soon reach the mines unhindered. You stop at the edge and look down into the pits. It goes a way down, and there are paths lining the sides that lead to a large shaft entrance. You see a few ramshackle tents at the bottom, with small fires, but you don't see anyone. Makes sense, its still rather early in the morning.

Tents and a few small fires... That showed that people were indeed awake. So, she carefully folded her rifle again, favouring her fists and pistol for closer encounters- if there were going to be any encounters. After all, she just looked like a traveller. She was slow and quiet with how she stepped, slowly making her way down the mines to approach the tents.

As you make you way down, you pass small crevices that have been carved into the path. Most of them could barely fit a young kid, let alone an adult, but here and there you see some folks resting inside them. They all look like new additions to the pit, and you even pass two people who are trying to carve a new one out. Few if any of them look your way, but the ones who do show only disinterest. The look in their eyes says they have been through a great deal, and are nearly resigned to whatever fate comes their way. You suspect that only the unknown of what comes after death keeps them from simply laying down and dying.

When you reach the floor, to armed men approach you. One is mostly human, though through the hood on his face you can see some effects of the radiation having disfigured it. He is carrying what you identify as an AK-97, a model that's been gone from the markets for nearly 50 years. The other is a mutant, possessing a third arm that juts out of the side of his ribcage. A small bump on the opposite side says he originally possessed a fourth one. He wields a wicked looking axe and a shield made out of steel.

"Hult." The human says, pointing the weapon at you warily. "If your any of those corporate bozo's, we don't got anything ye'd want."

Cassandra raised her hands up into plain sight, showing herself to have no hostile intention. "Those bastards? Please. I left two of 'em dead about two hours back that way." She indicated with her head towards the vague direction of where she'd come from. Towards the city. "Hell if I want anything to do with them." Her pistol was in clear display, but her rifle? Folded and tucked away in her short jacket. Concealed, sure, but she wasn't going to be showing off her heavier ordinance in plain sight. She preferred her foes to underestimate her firepower, even if her pistol was a damn powerful one.

She figured that AK was probably too old to function right. Hell, probably didn't even have it loaded. Magazine could've been for show, with how out-of-date that gun was. "Just looking for a place to rest before I set out again."

The guard mulls over what you say, and then grunts, moving to sling the AK, which manages to somehow slip out of his hands and land on the ground. A shot rings out and hits the nearby pit wall. "OI! WATCH WHAT YOUR DOING!" someone shouts out. The man sheepishly picks the gun up, switching the safety on.

"Eh, sorry miss, but we don't really have any space for random strangers. Been her a week ago and it'd be a different story, but now..." His tone of voice, combined with the looks of those around you, gives you a feeling that these people are having a problem of some sort.

The mutant suddenly speaks up, his voice sounding more like someone talking through a trash compactor.

"Thur is someone 'ere who might take ya in, but unless yar willing to be a whore for a night I don' think ya culd convince Mrs. Tummin."

Never mind. It was loaded. The holder was just incompetent. She didn't flinch, simply looking over at where the bullet had struck. Being tortured and shot at tended to harden a person pretty well, and her cybernetics would've allowed her a quicker reaction- or at least, it felt like they did- had a bullet gone flying at her. "Well... What happened a week ago, then? Sounds like you're having problems. I'm something of a problem solver." Her hands shifted, palms towards the air a bit, on level with her shoulders. Sort of a shrug. Then, they lowered. She wasn't expecting them to trust her- after all, she was some stranger offering help. Who would?

"Bugs. Giant mutant bugs. And not the friendly kind like some of those Prays out there."

Prays. The name doesn't sound familiar, but the database that was installed into you at somepoint informs you that it is slang for one of the mutated creatures out in the wastes. Cytesca considers them to mostly be primitive savages, but they are known to be friendly, as long as one is respectful and minds their manners. As for giant bugs...your database stops before it pulls too much information, simply informing you that it knows of at least 114 species of giant bugs living in the wastes.

"We used to live inside the mines there, we had a decently built underground city going here. Nothing like that fancy city, but hey life was good. Then all of a sudden, there's this cave in at the edge of our colony, and we're swarming in giant bugs. We sealed the main shaft, but every other day a few of them have shown out of nowhere and attacked."

Cassandra gave a slow nod... Giant bugs. That wouldn't be an issue. Probably. Depended on just how dangerous they actually were. With 114 different species of giant bugs, well, that wouldn't narrow it much. "Mind describing them for me? I'm sure you've seen them in proper light before. What kind of bug do they look like?" She was going to narrow down her database's search with further detail. That was always how search engines worked. And luckily for her, she wasn't exactly filtered in any respect, to her knowledge.

"I can probably handle a couple of overgrown bugs. No offense to the... Uhh, 'Prays'."

The man looks ready to say something, when a shrill scream fills the air. One the opposite wall of the pit, one of the crevices explodes as one of its inhabitants is sent flying. The two guards turn and charge off towards the spot as the bugs reveal themselves!

Data Entry- Aranines
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

Aranines are a dangerous predator that live primarily underground. Sectad Security Inc. has however received reports from customers and employee's about some of the monsters showing up in the undercity of Cytesca. They are believed to be the result of Arachnid and Canine DNA mixing and mutating together, and possess the speed of most trained military dogs along, and while they do not exactly possess good vision, they have the ability to sense vibrations like their arachnid ancestors. They are roughly the size of a bicycle.

While their mouth is considered a major threat, the real danger are there front claws, which possess a paralytic venom that will stun its target, allowing it to drag its prey off.

Misc Note-There are unconfirmed reports that some citizens of both genders have been captured, and then sexually assaulted, by these beasts. No follow ups have been conducted due to rarity of these creatures interacting with Cytesca citizens.

Three of the Aranines step out of the now enlarged hole, and roar into the air, before making a dash for the nearest person or persons.

Well, those things were fucking horrifying. Even Cassandra had to admit that. She didn't have the time or patience to unfold her rifle, simply drawing out her pistol and moving to try and get a clear shot. If she could, she'd line up and squeeze out two precise shots towards just one of the Aranines. She didn't know how resistant to bullets they were, but hey, never hurt to try. She just had to keep her distance and they couldn't paralyse her. Right?

(GM Roll-13)

Your shots manage to strike one of the Aranines in the side, slamming it against the wall. It growls in anger as it begins to leak blood, and one of the other ones looks your way before they both leap from the pitside and land twenty feet away from you. The mutant rushes them, moving to attack but receives a major slash to his upper half. If the amount of blood is anything to go by, you believe he is out for good. The older man grumbles and dives for cover instead, letting out a few potshots that miss by a mile as the two beasts make their way towards you.

Well, shit. She just managed to piss the things off. But, what else was she going to do? Running towards the cover that the old man took, Cassandra would turn slightly as she did and fire a few potshots of her own. Three shots, aiming in their general direction. She didn't have the time to take her time with aiming. She needed to keep moving! "Line it up proper, damn it!" She shouted at the older male. Hopefully he wouldn't hit her somehow. If he did, well, she'd be damn pissed off.

(GM Roll-11)

All but one of the shots miss, and it seems to at best clip the already injured beast. This just makes it stop and roar louder at you. You do manage to reach the cover, though as it turns out its not really fit for two. Come to think of it, why did the man even run for cover? You peek over the top and get an answer from the third, far off Aranine.

Its stalking towards a young girl, a teen you suspect, who seems to be scared stiff, eyes wide and gazing at the beast. It flexes its lips, and that seems to be enough to get the girl to move, who turns on her heel to bolt. As it turns out though, this is the wrong move. It shoots something out of its mouth, which sends the girl falling to the ground...her upper torso stuck.

(GM Roll-12)

You are able to tell from this distance, to your horror, that as the beast moves towards the girl, two appendages begin to grow and throb from the beasts crotch. One is obviously a dick, the other looks like some rubbery tube.

You don't quite have time to think about whats going to happen to her though, as the other two are getting closer. The old man raises up and fires a volley, and manages to finally kill the injured Aranine.

First thing's first- she could deal with the third Aranine after this. She didn't need another on her heels while she was saving some chick she didn't even know. Popping over the cover- or at least, around the side of it, seeing as it was so small, she would fire off the last four shots in her magazine in rapid succession. She was a damn good shot in her own opinion, and could handle the kick pretty well from her gun. Whether or not this put the beast down, she'd quickly begin to reload, ejecting the empty mag and slotting in a new one.

That's if she wasn't either stuck to something or tackled down. Her best bet in that case would be to try and roll out of the way with how nimble and acrobatic she was.

(GM Rolls- 5, 17)

Your shots miss the incoming beast, but when it opens its mouth to shoot out a wad of webbing, you manage to dodge and roll away, escaping becoming a sticky mess for the thing to play with however it desired. The old man...was not as fortunate, for he moved in the direction the shot was coming from, and ended up face first in the dirt, webbing covering his torso.

The beast seems to make a snickering noise, causing its lips to flap out a bit, before turning back to try and pin you down again!

With her gun reloaded, Cassandra would line up another shot, taking in a sharp, deep breath and holding it. If all else failed- aim for the damn eyes. That'd always put something down. But, this was a very risky maneuver. Taking the time to aim when it was jumping at her was a horrible idea. It was either it died, or she got pinned down in an instant. So, pulling the trigger twice, she'd fire two rounds. Hopefully one of them would hit. She was utterly calm as she did this. Pretty confident in her cybernetics and all.

(GM Roll-9)

Unfortunately, it leaped before you could get the shots out, and as it flies at you, it slashes at you! It makes contact, shredding some of your clothes leaving shallow cuts on you. Your enhancements leap to repairing them, so only a few drops of blood manage to make it out. You are aware that the strikes seem to be...strategic. They allow your breasts to pop free and make your pussy, and a bit of your pucker, visible.

That may be the least of your concerns, as you feel yourself slowing down. You doubt that a single hit with those venom laced claws could stun you, thanks to your enhancements, but it is enough to reduce your speed. The monster uses this as an opportunity, pushing you down against the ground and pinning you there. His lips flutter as he growls at you, and then...he places his mouth over one of your breasts! You feel something wet and thin pierce into your nipple, injecting something very warm and tingly inside it.

You also feel two hard objects rubbing against your thigh...

A light moan escaped her throat as her nipple was pierced- well, that was a thing. And while it was tempting to just lay there... She carefully shifted her hand, gun still in hand. It wasn't expecting her to still be mobile, surely! She continued to play the part of being paralysed... Before her gun would press right up to the thing's belly, the cyborg squeezing the trigger multiple times. One, two, three. Three rounds, right into its body. Surely she couldn't miss at this range! And whatever damage resulted from shooting it? Well, she'd repair. That was the one thing Cassandra was thankful to the corporations for.

This kick-ass cybernetic body that she got off with.
