https://rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post& ... id=7366103Basic Bio: Astrid is the older daughter in a family of four, consisting of her mother, father, herself, and younger brother. She is incredibly smart, able to basically understand computer programming at a glance and knows her way around tech, though some newer stuff still might take her some small amount of time to understand. Many tend to think of her as aloof and indifferent like many people are, and to be fair she sometimes can be when she's deep in thought and shutting out external stimuli. However she's actually quite enthusiastic and vibrant, and loves pursuing knowledge and helping others do the same. While she isn't a teacher by profession she is happy to help others, as long as they are willing to help themselves. In general she has a rather strong moral code, but is known to bend it if she deems the reasons for a valid greater good by assessing things from a less emotional and more pragmatic and objective point of view. Despite all that though she does tend to trend towards slight introversion, and has thus developed an interesting array of sexual tastes and fantasies.
Long Bio:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
In her younger years Astrid was essentially a child prodigy, enjoying some manner of short lived fame in her younger life as she was touted about as a child genius. The fame was short lived, but it was enough that it allowed her and her family to raise a decent base of extra capitol. These funds were used to send her to expensive higher end schools where she could expand her knowledge, which she consumed like a ravenous animal. She accelerated through such schooling systems with ease, finishing high school while barely in her teens. In post secondary life she followed in her proud parents foot steps, studying computer programming and electrical engineering. By the time she was 20 she already had a doctorate degree in the former and a Masters in the latter. Every thirsting for more though after finishing her doctorate she quickly started another field of study in robotics, but would pursue it at a more casual pace.
Within short order she naturally got the the attention of another famous scientist. One Aldric Richter, another prodigy like herself, but more seasoned in age in his 50s. The owner of a large custom programming and robotics manufacturing firm, she was soon hired onto his company as his personal research assistant, and there Astrid learned much. Aldric was a genius in every sense of the word, but with over twice the time on Earth his knowledge spanned so many subjects it was a wonder how his mind maintained it all. Programming, engineering, biology and chemistry and medical science and beyond! She helped him with everything, and she learned all she could from him. Aldric, thrilled to have a companion on his level relished her company, and over time would treasure her above anything. Aldric however was a... perverted man. He could not deny his attraction for Astrid, but he did not act on it much beyond fantasy or the odd playful flirt. He valued her company far to much to risk it on what he knew was lust. Besides she was so much younger then him. He had some degree of honour and decency.
For the next five years life would go on, the two designing many things and completing many custom programming contracts for Aldric's company. The world changed overnight suddenly however when the Logica Eversor Nanoplague, a disease for robots in just about every possible sense of the word, was unleashed upon the world by the Cult of Earth's Rebirth. In the chaos that followed as millions died by the flailing and erratic actions of hundreds of billions of robots and simpler androids turned suddenly into crude LLM like AIs, Astrid and Aldric quickly become part of a group all over the world working together in a race against time to save humanity before it was too late. Coordination was difficult as the world continued to crumble, held together only by somewhat safe space infrastructure. As the plague swept the Earth the smallest containment break could see disastrous consequences, especially around military installations. Often times autonomous vehicles and military robots would go on killing rampages, and that was if one was lucky. Some bases would sometimes would erratically launch nuclear warheads at random targets, which often times had to promptly nuked in turn to quickly stop the threat of more randomly launched missiles.
For two more years this fight would go, cities falling until only a few last bastions of humanity remained. Humanity reduced from billions to precious millions. Worse still as the time went on the machine learned more and more, soon forming tribes and little societies as they slowly marched to some degree of true intelligence like other purpose built AIs did. Many retained their violent tendencies, but the more of the net they consumed the more it was noticed that many of these robots would soon start doing far more perverse things to humans and even other robots or androids they caught. As the situation evolved as well, it was soon learned that humans themselves were not completely immune to the nanoplague. Their minds and health was not effected, but it was soon noticed that fertility rates were dropping to dangerous levels. Sterility was essentially assured past the age of 24, meaning if humanity was to remain they would have to start breeding relatively early in life.
Astrid was not immune. She eventually found out she was infertile and was devastated by the news. Soon after however she would have her chance at revenge. The Cult of Earth's Rebirth Strong hold had been found, and a raid would be conducted in order to obtain the original source code for the Logica Eversor Nanoplague. Once it was done, then all the survivors could pool their resources to make one last true secure home. One city advanced beyond compare and immune to the cult's apocalyptic weapon. She was asked to join a special operations team in getting this source code, her programming skills deemed essential to the effort. She agreed.
Aldric however was against the decision at first, terrified at the prospect of losing his young friend. Astrid however would convince Aldric to her point of view by ceasing the flirting and upgrading their relationship to a more physical one. She did not care about their difference in age, and she got to know Aldric very well over the years. It was easy for her to see his attraction, but social norms kept her away from him as much it kept him away from her. With the world on the brink of annihilation however, and Astrid now infertile, she threw away her inhibitions. Astrid and Aldric shared a week of passionate and often down right devious love before Astrid left to under go some basic training before the mission.
To Aldric's devastation however Astrid would not come back from the mission whole. While the mission was a success Astrid was grievously wounded. Her body permanently disfigured, broken beyond repair and kept alive by extensive life support needed to support every bodily system. The only saving grace however was that her brain, while deep in a coma, was barely injured beyond light bruising. Her mind was intact... and Aldric could work with that. As the old movie line went, he could rebuild her...
And she would be perfect.
You snap to awareness suddenly. While you're far from groggy, almost hyperactive, your total lack of awareness and knowledge of how you ended up where you are leaves you stunned. Your hand manages to strike a clear surface, and you realize you're floating in a bio-tube, something that was being used to manufacture specialized 'soft' robots and mechanical parts for biological upgrades and replacements. Recalling that you may or may not have been shot repeatedly, you have to admit that it would make sense that they'd have to patch you up, but 'live' manufacturing in situ was definitely theoretical at the time you went on your mission. Looking down, you're a bit stunned, as you appear to have no skin. Looking at your frame, you find silvery metallic soft muscle strands criss-crossing your form, and a series of glowing machines deeply embedded in your chest. Well, under your frankly stunning tits if that's what these massive sacks can be called.
Staring, you see a small hatch in your sternum plating open, a small glob of silvery metal which you recognize as nanobots moves around, dragging a small bit of muscle up your side and down your arm. A glance shows you've got what has to be a space set aside for the muscle on your thumb, an 'empty' set of straps seeming to be the last little bits. As they make the connections, the silvery liquid seems to soak into tiny ports and you can *feel* them working their way back to your core to get new instructions. With a start, you realize that this really was the last the bit of muscle you needed and it's shifted to doing your skin next, the liquid silver extending and now a layer of your skin tone spreading out from your chest and wrapping your body. A slight tickle indicates you've got hair, although it's definitely crawling down you.
So... you're now a brain in a jar tier cyborg if you're not misunderstanding. Of course, something pops up in your vision, but not actually blocking anything, like you've got a dedicated 'eye' that overlays things into your vision. You're listed as complete, but the date implies... that it's been more than a few years since you 'died' even if you're completed now. That said, the outside of the tube you're in is not a good sign, while the tube seems to be whole... there's a few spiderwebbing cracks present, and the room is far from clean. The tube also seems to be giving off quite a bit of red light. With a 'ting' a hatch in the top top of the tube releases like you're in a glorified toaster and ready to pop out. You manage to swim to it, pulling yourself out of the tank after a few moments of struggle.
Managing to hit the ground slime drips off of you, and you manage to stumble back to your feet. You've probably never used these muscles before, but you find they quickly start to respond, almost instantly, and with more than a bit more force than what your natural body could put out. You could definitely get used to having some serious muscle. Still, with some investigation, you find a shattered corner of the building, and you find a desolated but very overgrown area around you. In the distance, what has to be some kind of robotic pack of animals roams and seems to be in the process of eating a small building and pooping out... something that is slowly being stacked up. In the far distance, you see what appears to be tall buildings, glittering in the sunlight.
