Even if I mostly exhaust myself on this, I'll likely make back much of the power with fresh worship with such a display, so I'm a bit more willing to burn a lot of power. I look at the area again, searching this time for good points to extend the palisade to. Or to cut off a section of the valley as needed. Normally, a wall with thick backing structure behind a moat or pitfall would be best, but I don't know how easy it is to move the ground. Or how much I could simply do with stone and then have the people move themselves after the fact.

While you certainly don't do anything as fancy as moats or walkways, a barrier is enough for your purposes. Anything extra can be added on once you have that to protect the workers. You manage to link two portions of the palisade and enclose a good couple hundred acres in the stone wall. It took a good 80% of your power reserves though. The guards, meanwhile, are just staring in shock, literally slack-jawed.

I collapse, the massive exertion of power unreal to me, I haven't done anything like that since before I took this form. As is, I've now got a steady supply of meat and possibly fire wood to add to our resource supply. I gesture the guards over. "It's new, but there's guarantee it's empty or will remain so. Get a couple of build teams together, begin construction of pathways and towers and everything else. I'm going to go make a quick pass to see if it's empty." I tell them as I wait for my body to fully recover. Gonna get that bath though.

They nod slowly, before pealing off to report. After a few moments you recover enough to walk around and you lead your herd into the place. The place is clear and secured, though you notice that the deer are starting to breed now that they are in their new home. You guess that the blowjobs weren't quite enough.

I'm a little... miffed that I wasn't enough? But I shake that feeling from my shoulders. I've gotten the area mostly secured with a breeding population of deer in the area. This should do great for the local village and give me a firmer foundation to build my base from. Next up, bath. Immediately. And then I need to check if there's any time left in the day.

However, while you're in the bath, you hear some noises outside. Exiting you find two guards standing outside the door. Paul is surprised but the guards seem to just be waiting there.

Having gotten cleaned, and being happy with that state of being, I put on my civilian clothing. It's a little tight, but unless I'm going to be fighting these two, there's no point in getting the armor back on. "What can I do for you?"

"The mayor wishes to speak with you," They say casually. They don't look alert or like they were told to be cautious, "Says it's urgent."

"Ah. I shall be along." Something about this is suspicious, but I don't really have the time to get my new armor cleaned off. Time for the older one then.

They nod and just walk off, clearly not even planning on escorting you. Still you get your armor and head out. Reaching the office, you peek inside. You only see the mayor and his aid, who notice you immediately, "Ah Scarlet, just who I wanted to see! Come in! Come in! Have a seat!" He genially gestures to a seat with a surprisingly relaxed face. As you sit down, he begins, "It recently came to my attention that you acquired a large section of land recently... Walled in and everything."

"Yes. Yes I did. I am willing to grant access to you for a very reasonable arrangement. It even comes with walls, although you'll have to install any defensive fortifications you might think are necessary. My magical reserves are... depleted for now, so I cannot repeat the performance immediately. Still, it's a reasonable amount of land with ample farmland, and a few bucks and does running around. Do let any hunters you send in know that does are off limits for the next season or so, until we've gotten their numbers up a bit. Probably be best to leave the five largest bucks as well, or we'll have a sudden age gap. That said, I've no doubt there's a large supply of rabbits and any number of other smaller animals present that can be hunted at will. Most likely berries as well. I'll be doing a survey of the area as well, just to make sure there's nothing too large and aggressive lurking there."

His smile seems to only grow as you speak, "I was hoping you would say that. If I recall, you wanted the church. It's yours. I don't think you realize just how great of an achievement this is... Especially if you can repeat it even in a decades time."

"Hm, it will depend on the gathering rate of magical energy." I tell him, trying to get Astaroth to chime in. "Still, it is nice. I shall inspect it tonight I think. Tomorrow is a good day to inspect the farmland out there, just to make sure nothing has moved into any basements."

Still, you can't spend all your time doing either of those so you'll have to ration it out, but you also will likely be getting more mana from your ever growing number of followers, especially since you now have the church as a gathering place. It probably could use a remold before we open it up to the masses though,] Astaroth informs you.
The mayor shakes his head at your comments, "Every attempt to extend our borders have been met with disaster. The sheer time it takes to set up the stakes while outside the safety of walls means we've never managed to get through without monster attacks, and that means causalities... And in an afternoon, you open up how much land for us to use? That alone might solve our food problems for the foreseeable future, yet here you responding with essentially a shrug."

Honestly... This was probably the best move Scarlet ever made. It's massively helped the village and grown her standing considerably. Essentially all the towns critical problems come down to lack of room since they're trying to house and feed people in what use to be just commerce and housing... Probably time to move onto the next major event then... *Evil Grin*

Agreed. Might want to retcon the quality so it's not something she could really use to 'solve' problems so much as get a head start on them. Maybe a small controlled rockslide instead of ripping stone out of the earth? Up to you of course.

No you got the roll. Honestly though there is only so much that land can do. Yes, currently their problem now is lack of room, but they still need raw resources, numbers, and a way to fight back or at least defend against some of the nastier creatures. Basically all you did is prevent starvation. I meant that's nice and all, but hardly solving all the problems. Nor is this a problem that can be solved by just repeating this, as the resources they need are no where near close enough that you can just wall it in with them.

The church is much as you might expect from your history with them, though it is quite dusty, despite the obvious trail carved through the layers of dust, likely from Paul as he mentioned he comes here sometimes. Books are scattered about too, most of which in the holy language. As you ask Astaroth for who she thinks should manage she replies, [Paul is the best candidate of the ones you have found so far, but needs to be more thoroughly corrupted... Well all the candidates need that, but he's at least further along. I'd say just fuck him, but you seem insisting on refusing to do that so why not do some matchmaker? Hazel seems to be fond of the young man, so why not pair the two of them together... After all you did promise not to go after her, but nothing about getting her together with Paul. You'd even be able to corrupt the both of them. She'd be a useful assistant at the very least.]
