Star Wars: Capital Consipracy (Kuragari)

Luckily for you the universe decides to afford you a couple hours of peace. You manage to get back to your room and eat your food and get a breather in, trying to put together all the jumbled info your head into something that makes a little sense, and while you do find some success currently you were still missing too much information to put the whole story together. All you did know for sure however was that Tarso wanted you and your sister and that was somehow important to get even with some unknown togrutan. The other thing you knew was that your sister was still missing, she had also evaded Tarso's goons and had escaped the attack at the landing pad and escaped with someone else. Probably this Holly Magnolia given that she was waiting to receive your goods, but maybe this togrutan? Maybe the mystery Togrutan and Holly were the same person?

Anyway, once your done your food and have taken a moment to think you head back to the starport and to the Imperial station the officer had given you a card for. Two storm troopers stand out front, but other then a slight turn of the helmet to assess you don't react as you walk inside. Inside you see two human officers clad in the typical black uniforms of Empire, and head to one, asking about your ship. "Ah yes. Dealing with that shootout at bay 49-D. Awkward thing to happen when you're away from your ship. Lieutenant Axo has been waiting you. Please, go down the left hall and to the second room on the right.", the clerk says.

Following the instructions you soon find yourself at that original officer's office. It's not huge or fancy, but it does have a decent overview of a small wing of the starport where one could watch ships come and go. "Ah, Miss Cassidy. You'll be pleased to know your ship has been initially swept for now, and you can go back under supervision to retrieve some affects. You might be pleased to know that the cargo seems to be intact, and of course, perfectly legal. Unfortunately though pending the conclusion of the investigation your ship will have to stay impounded for now. I'm sure you understand.", the officer, Lieutenant Axo apparently, says.

Cassidy very much wished she was aboard their ship. If she was, she was sure there might be a bit more she could piece together. At the very least, she could try to see if there had been a visual communication between Madeline and their contact, the Holly Magnolia lady. Then she'd at least know if they were one and the same. A part of her remains somewhat surprise she's not having much trouble with Imperials, given all the things she usually heard about them out on the rim. Especially among non-humans. Maybe she was getting the lucky card with them? Or maybe so long as she wasn't causing them trouble, they just didn't care.

Reaching the office for the Lt. Axo, she smiles and gives him a nod in thanks. "That's good to hear. I can do that in a little bit. It'll give me a chance to try and see if I can learn anything more about who my sister had agreed to carry the cargo for. However, I did wind up learning a bit about what happened, and wanted to ask if you knew anything about a Tarso the Hutt? Some of his goons came to try and kidnap me, and I learned from them it was some thugs of his were involved in the shootout in the hangar."

"Plenty, really.", Lieutenant Axo says when you ask about Tarso. "Chiefly that despite being such a large and unsightly alien, he certainly is a hard person to locate. Probably has more criminal charges to him alone then all his cronies combined too.", he adds. When you mention that he had sent some goons to come abduct you and that he was involved somehow in the hanger shootout he makes a short humming noise, then folds his hands together as if to think. He gives an long stare then, clearly curious about what might connect you and your sister to a criminal king pin. "Is that so? How unfortunate. I am glad you've managed to thwart them. Can you tell me anything about these attackers of yours perhaps? Any thug of Tarso's we can remove from the streets is nothing but good after all.", he then asks.

As he finishes asking his question he narrows his eyes a little, his stare almost piercing. He takes on a calculating look, and you're reminded while he may not be hostile right now he was still Empire. You were already on legally murky ground alone just by possessing a lightsaber, though with the Jedi long gone you were somewhat fortunate that barely anyone could recognize one. Still, being Empire did not necessarily make one bad either... quite the conundrum.

Despite your admitted lack of social skills, even you can recognize you've entered a small game of give and take with the Imperial Lieutenant. You could trade information on your assailants, and hopefully learn a little more about Tarso in return. However, you would have to do your best to avoid information that might tie you or your sister to Tarso, which in theory should be easy since as far as you were concerned you didn't have any at all! Not that you knew of anyway. But since you had revealed Tarso wanted you and Madeline he might be suspicious that there might be some high end smuggling deal happening, which wasn't the case...

...right?

Tarso having that much criminality to him wasn't surprising. As he gives his long stare, Cassidy sighs and says, "I don't think he was after the cargo... I think he was after us. We're both exotic, so..." She shivers a bit, not wanting to elaborate further. And figuring the Imperial probably doesn't need any help getting the drift on that." She nods and shares all she can, not feeling like there was much she could share that could be a problem in this instance for her or her sister. She can't exactly hide the fact she has a lightsaber, having used it quite visibly in the fight, but she also has no real beef with the Empire.

Hopefully, with what she shares, she might be able to get some information she can use to try and track her sister down. Or find Tarso so she could try to deal with him and get him off their backs.

"Hmm... I do suppose that is true. I've seen just about most aliens the galaxy has to offer at this point be you're certainly a new one. In any case, while the Lieutenant's suspicions were certainly something to be cautious of, as far as you knew there was no evidence to tie you or your sister to any illicit activities involving Tarso. If there was, you'd probably be having this conversation from a prison cell. You decide to share what you know of the thugs, since you can't possibly see how such could harm you, and up giving a description of the various attackers and the attack, the Lieutenant nodding along and taking some notes. "These ungrilans sound like Ortegras thugs to me. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the rodian man you described was probably either a recruiter or a simple middle man trying to get Tarso's dirty work done. A shallow connection, but one to be explored nonetheless. I'll see if I can round up a random Ortegras goon to question. Certainly enough of them working at the starport with minor charges that dragging one in here should be easy. Given the size of the gang though, it likely won't yield much...

"I'd definitely urge caution in the future however miss Cassidy. The Ortegras are tight-knit if simple group. They might feel slighted just by the fact you fought back and might have it out for you.", Lieutenant Axo then warns, before pressing a button on his desk. A small holographic projection springs up showing a what appears to be symbol or marking. A yellow flag, with red, blue and green colored planet and what appears to be two Rancor's arm wrestling of all things. "This is symbol the Ortegras use, and will usually have a patch or a pin or some version of it on their person somewhere. Sometimes it can be as simplified as a yellow square or bandanna, so if you see a bunch of people around with such iconography and paying attention to you, do your best to exit the situation as quickly as possible.", he says.

That was good info to know at least, but you can't help but notice he seems to avoiding the issue of Tarso a little. While you might not exactly be the most skilled conversationalist compared to your sister, maybe you could try using your... exotic allure to pry a little more out of the man?

As much as a part of her wants to make a comment about his speciest remark, another part of her can't say she doesn't understand the feeling. She and Madeline had encountered some pretty unusual aliens in their travels thus far. Still, the fact she's been allowed to roam freely helps her to feel less like she and her sister got caught up in something super duper shady. There's a chance it is still shady in some capacity, but if Cassidy was to hazard a guess, it was just barely on the right side of the law.

She feels a brief pang of sympathy for whatever poor sod is going to get dragged in for questioning. Its short lived when she remembers the trouble they caused. Still, as Lt. Axo shares the information on the gang with her, she absorbs it like a sponge. She has a feeling she'll need to keep such in mind.

When she notices his avoidance of Tarso himself, her first thought is to worry he might be tied to him. But then, if that was the case, couldn't he have just slapped cuffs on her and called it a day before handing her over to the slug? So perhaps there was some other reason. Figuring it can't hurt to try and see if there was something else, even as her cheeks began to grow flushed at the thought of even trying, she decided to give him her best alluring smile as she leaned forward on his desk. Useful info! Perhaps you could bait one of these squads and use them to find out Tarso's location, among other things? A bit of a risky notion. However, it's quite clear there is more information that Lt Axo knows. If you press your advantage a little further, who knows what the good lieutenant might spill? Maybe he can point you to suspected locations of Tarso various businesses and can avoid having to bait a squad all together, should you even want to do that that is.

Maybe that bar owner wasn't too wrong after all... Cassidy can't help but think as her ploy works, rather well in fact. Her own blush increases, and she feels a strange thrill run up and down her spine. A part of her tries to come up with some other reason why it'd have worked so well, but in this instance with it working so well, that half of her mind doesn't have much luck. On a different note, its slightly cute to see an Imperial of all people so easily flustered and that official decorum slipping away if only for a moment.

Still, she listens carefully as he begins to share what he knows. So, she needs to keep an eye out for any group of gangsters that appear to be following her. And on top of that, keep an eye out for, most likely, rougher and tougher looking goons. If Tarso very much wanted herself and Madeline as slaves, or just as some sort of weird collectors item with how exotic they were... yeah, she didn't doubt he'd make use of his private goons if the cheaper thugs didn't work out for long. Which she had no intention of letting them nab her if she could help it.

As much as a part of her wants to needle for more information... she isn't quite so confident, even by her apparent success here. That said, she also views herself as being the sort to carry out her promises, even if she hadn't technically yet done so. Or maybe her little bit of success had sparked a bit of a mood in herself.

"Well, I do admit I find you a little fascinating miss Cassidy, and this position can be a bit... aloof. Would you be opposed to a bit of... candid discussion?", he asks.

Your blush remains hot, but your mood is still more then a little adventurous. You find yourself nodding that he can speak his mind.
