Yeah, that does seem more reasonable.
Pushing against the way the cat is being mysterious, you feel something in your head... shift a bit. The cat begins to speak, but you already know the information. You have two sets of magic, that which follows basic rules, which is represented by your mechanical arm; and you have the esoteric magics that make no goddamn sense, which the cat represents. But... you're a human being, and if there's anything your species is good at, it's crafting tools. The three different pulls you felt to take the part were each of these ways trying to demand the object, one as a simple mechanism, one as an esoteric mechanism, and one as a part for a machine or tool of some kind.
Heading toward the forest, you find that it does indeed slope downward. Strange that it seems to be built like that... still, you press on, until you come to a cliff face. Well, it seems like a cliff face, but peeking down the side, you find that there's forest growing out of the side of it, like it's curled around on itself. And... you're pretty sure your footprints are visible. You don't recall turning, but it could be some strange property of the local gravity field messing with your head?
