Amazingly, the girl seems to understand you perfectly, describing a battery to you before you can do so. She then heads on down to the first level, a skip in her step as she vanishes from sight.

Checking the console, you don't see any means of reactivating it without a charge of power. Theoretically, you could use the energy in one of your ammo clips, but it wouldn't give you more than maybe a minute of power, and would make the clip worthless afterwards.

Before you can do anything else though, you hear a shrill scream from Jess down below.

Glancing down, you see that your daughter is pinned to the ground by one of those monsters you met when you first got here. There's a second one prowling about nearby, no doubt waiting for its turn.

You easily manage to take out the one pinning Jess, getting a shot to whatever it calls a head. It screeches about in pain and stumbles off, your daughter scrambling for the nearby ladder leading up to where you are currently. Your second shot however misses, and the creature lashes out at Jess with its tongue, which wraps around her leg and tries to pull her off.

"H-Hey!" She shouts, trying to bat the thing off with her tail, with not much success. She looks up to you and cries out "Mama! Help!"

When you reach the platform and kick at the beast, you give it such a kick that it goes flying into one of the other consoles nearby. This seems to kill it, for it lets out a short shriek of pain before going motionless.

Jess quickly scrambles up the ladder and jumps onto you, holding you tight and shaking both in residual fear and relief. "Mama...mama..." She murmurs to herself as she buries her face in your chest.

Heading down, you see several more pods and piles of goo scattered about...you also get a strange feeling that the two of you are not alone in this room.

"Jess stay close to me okay." Ashely holds her daughter's hand and begins moving around slowly between the generators and avoiding the pods as best she could.

You soon feel the floor shaking, and Jess clings to your back as something moves out into the open from where it had been hiding beneath the power generator. It is a larger, more mutated form of those creatures, possessing two of the heads with long tongues, and one central head which had three rotating eyepods and a mouth full of teeth. It let out a roar as it slowly proceeded towards the two of you.

The two of you manage to make it up the ladder and onto the platform, your daughter hugging your back as she gazes past you at the beast below. It roars up at you, the two tongues from its left and right head flicking towards you but not being close enough. But then, to your dismay, it moves to one of the walls and begins to climb up it, moving circle around and reach the area you are currently on.

"Stay behind be and use this Jess." She hands her daughter the laser pistol she came on board with then takes aim at the monster and fires into it hoping to take It down before it gets to close.

Your shots harmlessly hit the wall, though your daughter seems to do better than you, her shots striking the beast and causing it to hiss and slow its advance. The middle head however rears back...and then flings a big glob of purple goo at you, covering most of you. It tastes a little sour...but you can't help but find yourself wanting more, especially as you breath it in, your body growing hotter.

Ashely pants a little as the liquid hits her mouth. She's never liked sour things but she felt compelled to eat more of it...she slowly reaches for a small bit of goo and licks the tip of her finger as she lets off another shot.

Your shot misses again, this time no doubt because your quickly becoming enraptured by the goo. Though its sour bite would normally bother you, its almost like eating candy, but the candy is never ending. Jess however...lands a direct hit on the beast, the bolt striking its head and leaving a burning, smoking mark there as it falls off the wall and crashes to the floor. Its still alive...but not by much.

Ashely was starting to lose her inhibitions as she drops her guard a bit to eat more of the goo...her daughter seemed to be handling the problem just fine, but for show she lets off a shot, not really caring if it hits or not. She takes another bit of goo and slowly puts it into her mouth.
