Oh, it's not just the old art that was ridiculous at times....

Aesa was about to defend herself, to explain it would be inappropriate to wear them in their current state, but curled her lip as Kasumi kept talking. Her eyes roved every detail of the mech, wondering if the Dragoons had left the Mech here, if perhaps Natasha herself had tread upon the ground she herself now stood upon. She kept her tongue as the Freebirth Captain started to address them, knowing it was not her place but the Colonels to inform the woman of Clan Wolf and the glorious new League that would be formed when the Clans reclaimed Terra... and that there may not be place in that League for Freebirths like them anymore.

She waited a moment for woman to stop talking to clear her throat and address the colonel herself.

"Colonel, if it please I would like to check upon my Star and inform them of current situation, quiaff?" she barked, crisply and direct

Lost in thought, she hadn't realized the Colonel had moved on to speak to the Captain, catching herself before she could scoff at the woman's assertion. Her Star - no Cerber's Star, Cerber had lead them into the trap, not her - had been defeated with a trick that would not work again and Clan Wolf had far more than another star of mech's to enter the fray if they wanted. It was bravado on the part of the Captain, a element of any bid for combat, begrudgingly, Aesa could acknowledge that and... WHAT WAS THAT!

Aesa tensed suddenly as the Colonel started talking, not expecting him to be as forward as laying out the whole goal of the incursion. A lump formed in her throat as she heard Aulus was heart, he had been a good Mechwarrior, the best in Star - aside from her self of course - that she had seen and the only one not dumb enough to run into a pit. She knew it was a warrior's true fate to die in battle, and if Aulus did fall he had done so fighting at least unlike the others, but damnit, she had more uses for the man.

"Take me to see Mechwarrior Aulus first, the pilot of the Mad Dog... the Mad Dog... you understand Freebirth?" She repeated herself to Kasumi as if she would an ignorant Cadet, "Where you Innersphere's come up with these ludicrous names and ideas, I do not know."

Aesa struggled to keep the rage and scorn from her face as she took in Aulus's condition. The only pilot in the star she had seen promise in and this was his state, barely fit for the ranks of the Solahma. While it was true he may recover from his injuries, the travel, surgery and rehabilitation could well put him out of the invasion entirely. In her mind he stopped being a warrior, instead a broken tool that some tech might recycle, but was useless to her and so was jetsam.

"My Timber Wolf is fine and acquitted itself well, it is more than match for any Inner Sphere design in clean fight," She said, perhaps too sternly as she more looked past or through him, "I will make sure the new pilot of your Mad Dog is worthy of position."

She turned on her heel quickly, boot squeaking on the deck as strode forward with purpose.

"You will take me to the other pilot now, Quiaff?" she barked back at Kasumi.

The broiling, churning angry mass of fuming anger did not abate but darkened as she marched. With Aulus out of the picture it was only her against the brutish fool Cerber as his toadies, the loss of Aulus now more keenly felt as she restrategized how to deal with her commander. Aulus was skilled, adept and neutral enough to be able to back her play for the command of the star, but with him out the picture she lacked allies.

The two of You get down to the cell you see Zoya, Kenn and Cerber sitting each in a cell. "Aulus is a Warrior of Clan Wolf, he understands that a battle does not hinge upon a single soldier, our crusade cannot be delayed for one Warrior," She barked back, loud enough for Aulus to hear, "You know nothing of us, we do not abide the luxury of waste and sentimentality, when a warrior falls they are replaced, a Star needs all it's points. When Aulus recovers, *when* he recovers, I will welcome him as any other warrior proven on the field of battle, for that he will need his spirit if his position is challenged. A clan of wolves has no need of whipped currs who cower and fear the lash."

She allowed Kasumi to start leading her again, rolling her eyes if the woman thought she would be gentile for the bumbling fools and sycophants that had been captured. Marching into the cell block she aimed to stop in front of the bars just out of arms reach, judging the distance as she approached.

"I think you will find Star Captain, that I am the only Warrior took the field today that left with honour, quiaff?" she smiled with a wolfish smugness, "I take it you have not been informed of my victories, as we speak the Star Colonel himself negotiates for the surrender of, and folding in of the local forces to our own... you are the only ones in chains, perhaps your offer of servitude and accepting the leash of a new master was too preemptive, quineg?"

Aesa's gaze hardened as she saw Zoya cuff Cerber over the head, the audacity that a Freebirth would lay hands on a trueborn, and their commander at that, but kept her composure and stayed silent. If anything it reflected more poorly on Cerber and his command, not only that he let it happen but that he did not retaliate immediately; and Aesa filed it away for later when she had the momentum to challenge his position and take command of the Star.

She clenched her teeth as Kasumi spoke up, the thought that these other Freebirths would take a place of pride in the vanguard of the crusade, and not just a garrison post as other freebirth Warriors were accustomed, galled her as well, but again she calmed herself before speaking. She thought again of the shame the dezgra Jade Falcon Aiden Pryde had dealt to the Clan Wolf just before the crusade, and considered Cerber's pride and folly in falling into the trap this morning. She would not make the mistake and swallowed her unease hard.

"Such details are matters for the Tech class, we are Warriors," she motioned at other Wolves behind the bars as she turned and replied to Kasumi before Cerber could, "You will have much to learn about the Clans if you are going to be my bondswoman."

She started to stride nonchalantly to the door, ignoring Cerber for the moment.

"Will they be released now?" she asked Kasumi as she paused by the door, flicking her gaze over to Cerber, "Or do you still plan to serve out the crusade in bondage to these Freebirths, Cerber? Quineg?"

Zoya just smiles "so should go back meat with the commander then or did have something else In mind Aesa?" She goes to pick up limp Cerber body "I get feeling he probably going to get pissed if anyone ask the bondsmen did it." She chuckles.

Katsumi nods "alright thought get treat him my way " she grins.

Zoya looks confused "you know that was a joke right?"

Katsumi nods "I know but I wasn't joking." Rest hand behind her hands.

Aesa ignored the squabbles between the Freebirths behind her as she strode with confidence out of the brig, the only wolf free to do so.

"You are mistaken again, Bondswoman Katsumi, it us who will teach the Inner Sphere the true face of war," She smiled cockily, "If you are going to be a Warrior this is all you need know, quiaff?"

The distribution of personnel and maintenance schedule for Mechs held little interest for her now, those were jobs for the Commanders and the tech class. She had another game a foot and had just made her first move against Cerber. The play had not gone exactly as she planned but the fallout had been interesting, regardless she knew Cerber would be coming for her as soon as he was able, probably with the same ferocity he had this morning.

Satisfied with the conditions of the Star, she directed Kasumi to take her back to the Star Colonel.
