The soldiers first snap to a guarded position as they look at you, but looking around reveals no additional threats. A few up and down looks confirms that you're human enough and not a monster. They give some general welcoming and invite you to accompany them to the next village.

"Thank you," Lux smiled at those guards, glad that they were nice enough to let her come with, and that they didn't seem to just be doing that to get her enslaved or captured, allowing her a moment to fall back into her more cheerful disposition now that she was on the calmer side of things. "Do you mind telling me where we're going? I'm kind of new to the area, and would like to know at least that."

"Town of Braedon is up ahead, that's where we'll be stopping. Once we're in the walls, we should be somewhat safe." He tells you. The ride is otherwise uneventful, and you arrive at the town, and manage to find an inn which you can check into and rest, or you can continue to wonder about the town and look for things.

I know we were doing wild monsters, did you want to do anything with vampires or other humanoid monsters that try to sneak in?

Considering that Lux didn't really know where she was, and only had a couple hundred gold coins on her, she decided to look around to get an idea of what the prices were around here. She could still stop by the inn on the way to wherever the market could be, maybe just see if they even rented out rooms there, as otherwise, she would have to talk to those guards for a place to stay.

Looking around inside, you don't notice anything strange, besides a few handsome faces here and there anyway. You do stumble your way to the market, but you realize they may or may not accept your currency.

"Well, maybe they'll give me the value of the gold coins by their weight," Lux thought to herself, looking around at the market to see what other kinds of goods they traded in, even attempting to get some sort of idea over what kind of jobs they had, since that could definitely help if she had to stay here for awhile...although she would have to figure out where here was.

Most of it seems to be general food stuffs, as you'd expect. There are a few weapons dealers, but they're not moving anything you'd consider worth your time. Looking around, you do find a jobs board, but almost all of the jobs on offer are extermination of monster deals.

After that group of Goblins from before, Lux knew that this area probably had a serious monster problem, so that means that her help would probably be appreciated, although she wouldn't want to push herself too far. For now, she just headed to the Inn, humming to herself while keeping an eye out for Garen, since he might have headed here if he went through the same portal...time...thing.

Looking around, you find that no one recognizes you, and you don't spot the towering form of Garen, and you're sure there'd be a crowd or at least a telltale glow around him. You find a decent looking inn, one that doesn't seem to be covered in fleas or dirt.

Shaking her head, Lux didn't really feel comfortable not finding Garen, even though she was more than safe being on her own for now, wondering how she would be able to even ask about Garen without having to worry about drawing too much attention to herself. For now, she approached an Inn that looked like it was going to be nice, but not something that looked too nice, her letting out something of a sigh herself when getting inside, hoping for some idea of how good the internal parts of the place looked.

When you eventually manage to get the innkeeper to look at your coins, he demands quite a few of them, easily a third of them, for a minimum of a week. That's crazy talk, but you recall how bad things were outside. If you're not planning to follow the cart, and you have no idea where that goes, you'll have to figure something out.

With so much of her coins going to a room for a week, Lux knew she was going to have to pick up some other odd jobs, hoping that it didn't turn out that she was spending the equivalent of a month's wages on room for a week, since otherwise, she would be in serious trouble.

She was going to have to do something about these sleeping conditions, but she did add, "are there any meals included with the room, or do I have to fend for myself with that?"

"No, we include three meals a day, although they're just what the cook makes, nothing too fancy." The owner tells you, giving you a once over and guessing at your material wealth.

Given how Lux had on nice armor and other such things, she simply smiled back, hoping that the room had some form of lock on the door to keep other people out of there, adding on, "I was just making sure, since this does seem like it was a nice establishment, and I thought that it would be nice to at least know what other things you provided."

"We have a bath in the back as well." He comments helpfully, although you're not sure how much you trust that sort of thing.

"Thank you," Lux smiled, knowing that there being a bath would be useful for if she really did have to stay here for the full week, her looking over towards the tables for an idea of if there were any of those open enough for her to sit down at and have a meal, maybe even hear people talking to see if there was something about Garen coming up.

The plate of hearty food is soon placed out front of you at a table, and there's quite a few young men who look like they'll be giving you a pass in just a few seconds.

Looking at the men as they passed by, Lux considered for a moment her options, the idea that they would actually be able to give her some sort of idea about what they knew for the local area, her deciding to take something of a chance by waving at the men with a smile on her face, wondering if that would be enough to get their attention. After all, what better way to learn about the area than by having some of the people living here just tell her about it over a quick meal and maybe light drinks.

As you call one of them over, he approaches leering, and leans far too close to you. He doesn't seem too upset when you push him back a bit, and he seems willing to sit and talk.

[that man]

Having the guy leer that close to Lux wasn't exactly what she had wanted, her having to push him back just a little bit before giving him a smile, motioning to the other side of the table out of the hope that he would just sit there.

"It's nice to meet you," Lux smiled, hoping that it would keep his attention long enough for him to get comfortable without necessarily resulting in him ending up with her on his lap. "I'm kind of new to the area, and was just curious to learn a bit about it."
