Rengar glanced over at Riven and let out a short growl of annoyance tossing the Yordle down onto the ground. "We should move, Kha'zix will not stop now that he has the scent." He said pulling his arm away from Riven and continuing their journey. Up ahead the thick jungle started to thin and the landscape took a turn for the worse. The long tall trees were either burned to cinders still standing upright like black columns of bone or broken in half by huge monstrosities. The ground was also chard black in many places and the sounds of the jungle had quickly died down as they approached. "Not much further to the rift." Rengar said as the Yordle began to show his nervous nature hiding behind Riven and Rengar.

"Don't worry little one just be sure to help us when we need it and it will be fine." Riven said trying to calm down the yordle even as she was getting nervous herself gripping her blade more tightly than before. Her eyes traced from the Yordle back to Rengar making sure that the group stayed together. The surrounding were unnatural and quite likely tainted by the void. Making sure to keep close to rengar Riven kept her blade at the ready to strike down the foes that may appear.

Out of the ground several large insect like creatures burst forth clawing at the ground and advancing on the three intruders. Riven was able to knock the first two away before a third cut a small gash in her leg. They were small but numerous and more seemed to be emerging from the scorched ground. Rengar stabbed three or four before giving ground. "This is a trap! They were waiting for us!" He cries out. The yordle began firing darts at the creatures who stopped moving as the toxin entered their system.

Fending off the swarm of bugs proved difficult as they seemed to be endless. Keeping Rengar close Riven activated her Ki Burst to stun the surrounding bugs and used Valor to carry Rengar closer to the yordle. Willing her blade to complete itself once more to have it shield them from the further onslaught of bugs. Once they had an opening to retreat she used her wind slash to eliminate the bugs that would be on their tail.
