[Ren'py] Tales of Terrara 0.3.7 (06 March 2024)

Tl;dr: Fantasy game made with Ren'py and 3D CGs for the porn scenes. Scenes will have lots of crazy stuff, like bestiality, monsters, magic, transformation, etc.

Introduction: Tales of Terrara is takes place in a fantastic world inhabited by races like elves and orcs, ferocious monsters and ever-watching gods. A commoner with humble beginings, through a pact with a mysterious entity, acquires powers they don't quite understand and slowly become capable of unimaginable things. Will they keep their pure heart or succumb to the power and corruption? Will they use it to make the world a better place or for their own twisted desires? Why not both?

Story: The story revolves around a commoner who, after a criminal job, is ambushed by goblins during the night. Some of his companions are killed and some captured. In a weird dream, a mysterious entity comes in contact, offering power. Given the dire situation, they don't see much choice but to accept the deal. And the price that comes with it. Now, they must follow the ever-growing threads of corruption that they seem to always get caught up into while also trying to figure out whay this deal means and what it will entail.

World: Terrara is a medieval high-fantasy world inhabited by races like elves, orcs and goblins, where monsters roam the wild, magic is a reality and gods watch from above. A world where selfless heroes roam, secrets hide under ancient tombs and evil lurks in every shadow.

Gameplay: The gameplay is mostly Visual Novel style with RPG elements, like leveling, combat, abilities, magic, items, etc. The game is also pretty open, allowing the player to go anywhere they want, except for some story-related linear parts.

Mechanics:
    Exploration: Except for the begining of the game, where the protagonist is a prisioner, exploration is a big part of the game. Each place have different events, creatures to fight and items to find. Those will be added incrementaly as the game develops.
    Relationships: As the protagonist finds new ladies in this world, they'll be able interact, sometimes recruit and flirt and most times eventually have sex with them. Some of them become more fond of the protagonist through travelling and working together, others by doing quests or in some other ways.
    Combat: The combat is turn-base and supports a maximum of three creatures on each side. There are different attacks, abilities, spells, items that the player and creatures each have at their disposal.
    Magic: The main character will unlock more and better magic as they progress through the game. Magic will provide additional ways to reach objectives and will tie in directly with the adult content. Meaning some scenes will be achieved using specific magic, like transformation, charming, scrying, etc.

Current Adult Content:
    Pairings: Beast X Female, Female x Female, Futa x Female, Futa x Futa, Male x Female
    Races/Species: Humans, Goblins, Elves, Half-Elves, Orcs, Half-Orcs, Dwarves, Littlefolks (kinda like halfling), Half-Giants, Dogs, Wolves, Horses, Snakes, Constructs, Slime monsters, Demons
    Fetishes: Anal, Bestiality, Double Penetration, Foursome, Futanari, Gangbang, Group, Hand Holding, Incest, Lesbian, Monster Girl, Monsters, Sleeping Sex, Straight, Watersports

Planned Adult Content:
    Pairings: Shemale/Futa x Male (Maybe)
    Races/Species: Fairies, Ogres, Giants, variants of some of the previous races, half-breed of some of these races as well and definitely more that I didn't think off yet.
    Fetishes: Anal, Breast Enlargement, Hypnosis, Milking, Mind control, Shemale, Tentacles, Transformation, and probably more that I didn't think off.
    What probably won't be in the game: Male x Male (nothing against gay content, but it's not my thing, so I wouldn't feel confortable making this type of stuff.)
    What won't be in the game for sure: Scat

    Technical Aspects:
    Main Engine: The game is made mostly on Ren'py. I do a lot of coding in Python and add a lot of functionality to the game, so it's not your average Ren'py game. It's not gonna be very linear. There will be a main story line to follow but a lot of other things that the player can explore if they want to. Think of it as something like Skyrim (in terms of linearity). You're expected to follow a certain direction, but you can do it in your own way and pace.
    Adult Scenes: Everything adult-related, images and animations alike, are 3DCG. I make them with Daz3D. Some of the models are made or customized using Blender, but most of it is just bought from the Daz Store and heavily customized within Daz itself.
    Other Stuff: A lot of other application are used for a bunch of other tasks, mostly the free ones. Those include: Blender, Gimp, Photoshop, Audacity, Grammarly, Prowritingaid and probably some more I'm forgetting.

      -Added loot for a lot of enemies that didn't have any, some appear on their corpses, some are chests at their location. For quest related loot, you'll get them automatically if you did the quest already.
      -Added option to sell stuff to Calra. Combined with the new loot from the random encounters in the forest, you can now technically farm money infinitely.
      -Fixed giant quest
      -Fixed error caused by not having the patch
      -Other small bug fixes and improvements

Hey I tried your game and so far i really like it. I think the sex spells are super cool. This whole setting holds so much potential :D

But i think you should streamline the dialogue system a little bit more. It dosn't really make sense why some dialogue options are in the "normal" dialogue menu and some in the special menu.

PS.: The screen shot spoiler in the top post is not working

Thank you very much! Yeah, other people also said that this "topic system" was a little confusing. I'm assuming you played the 0.0.5, right? As per 0.0.6 I removed the whole system temporarily and I'll rework it. My idea is to move the casual topics as options to the regular dialogue in the next release and leave the topic system for important topics and clues, like quest-related stuff.
I also fixed the screeshot section, thank you for telling me :D

I ignored this one for until now because it looked like a visual novel. I went to find out what the guy who made leaf on fire did now. I still haven't tried it, but I expect great things. Maybe you should add some pictures of mechanics, not everyone is all about the art and interesting mechanics or even any mechanics really can really make a game stand out.
