Hey guys,

The game we are working on is called Viking's Daughter and its a first-person open world RPG, that gives you a control during the NSFW scenes.

Game Story
A village lies abandoned, its people either killed or taken by a rival clan! You, a smith’s son visiting to deliver some weapons, are roped into getting them back by the chief’s beautiful daughter. Explore the land, become a renowned warrior and find plenty of women to take to your bed along the way!

Playground Game Mode
If you want to have all of the NSFW scenes unlocked form the start without playing the story, then hop in the Playground mode! Meet all of the characters and replay all of the animation scenes at anytime in Playground, all of them will be unlocked from the start!

Slave Market

Vikings owned slaves and it's a good opportunity for us to add different type of characters in the game. The slaves were captured during Viking raids and they are desperate for a new owner. You can buy them from the market and own multiple slaves. Currently we have:

- Rose, submissive, origin Ireland, age 20
- Nicole, origin North Africa, age 23

(We may also consider adding male slaves, futa slaves and more BDSM related scenes)

When you can expect to get a new build?

People, who are supporting us on Patreon, pledging $5 or more will get access to the baker build each month.
The public build will be available 2-4 weeks after the release of the baker build.

What is the difference between the baker build and the public build?

The public build will also lack some of the features, mainly game add-ons, for example right now we have a quest helper extension, that will only be enabled in the backer build, so when you are doing gathering quests, you will be able to see the area around the quest items from a distance, using the new top-down map feature.
Another add-on, that we currently have is a third-person view during the NSFW scenes.

Gameplay

It's a first person game, but you can also switch to third person view during the NSFW scenes. We were working on combat mechanics and there are animals in the forest that will attack you. We have also added more content similar to the Norse mythology once you die. The characters are mainly humans, but we also have an elf and we might be adding more creatures from the Viking mythology.

He actually said in his post, he gets motion sickness. I do occasionally in Zombie Survival games (if I play them for too long, I would assume due to gore, not so much motion), but I think I get where he's coming from...

EDIT: First thing I'm going to point out is the game could use an Invert Y-Axis , can't even begin to explain how hard it is for me to play games with freelook without it. Second thing is it could use some key rebinding options. Given this is a demo, I'm going to stop there & wait to see if there are going to be further public versions.

Hm, why not?

3rd person mode (but means another model), and/or FOV adjustment. Going 90+ deg for FOV helps a ton. I don't play 1st person games either unless I can adjust to 90+. With my 16:9 monitor, get's a little fisheye at the edges, but fine as you're looking at the middle anyway and edges are just for enemy warnings, navigation.

Motion sickness aside, I dislike the zoomed in tiny FOV you get usually. But that's personal tastes. Back in the day, I stopped playing Bioshock with it's 4:3 screen having the top and bottom chopped to make a 16:10 version. Oh the FAKE widescreen controversy heh. Thank god they hacked it. Was a very iffy explantion from them also at the time why they did it, ahh fun times.

We have released Viking's Daughter v1.0.1 (Hotfix)

-What is hotfix?
You might have noticed that the last version of the game is 1.0.0, the last 0 is for quick-fix updates, if someone reports a bug in our Discord server we start working to fix it as fast as possible. When its fixed, we deploy a new version and post a link in this channel, so you can help us with the testing. This channel is only available for $5+ supporters.

-What was the bug fixed?
A few people reported that after taking the quest from Alvilda, in very rare cases the game lets you continue without completing the quest, we have never experienced this, so the more people involved in the testing, the better.
Also a bonus feature that we call one-handed controller, basically you can move by holding the right mouse button and run while holding both - left and right (just in case your left hand is... busy doing something else )

Played for 45 minutes, deleted after only finding one chest. Apparently the viking dad decided not to use landmarks, like those 3 stumps, to mark where his chests are, and instead used a spell that hides the chest until you've past by it 3 or 4 times. (sarcasm) The games looks nice, but I'm not going to invest that kind of time to clear the first quest.

What do you mean by "simple do the thing fuck the girl" ? We are going to add different kind of quest(gathering,elimination,escort) and the player will have a chance to see the nsfw scenes as a reward at the end. Let me know what is your idea?

To be honest it's really hard to balance this, some people manage to find the chests in 2 minutes, others look around for 30. Most of the players have found them pretty quick though.

But is it still fun, even if you find them?? Is it going to be like Skyrim where doing even basic (and they were) fetch quest missions you'll get sidetracked no end of times meeting other people, bandits, monsters etc.?? Because if not, you have to ask yourself is the task itself fun. If no, then just a time waster to hold the players away from content. It could be find the chests. Press mouse button 100 times, do the QTE game, talk to her until 50 relationship points, or for RPGs kill 50 mobs.

This is one of the main reasons I don't like male protagonist in a male/dominant setting, and it's not because I don't like M/F encounters. But as nothing ever happens to him (except for the M/F scenes), it's just time wasteing filler quests blocking when you inevitably finally get to bang the woman, rinse, repeat with the next one. As Destrocto mention, another fuck the girl game.

Whereas with Female protagonist games, as she's usually the victim (go figure), stuff actually happens when she has to do stuff. So she gets attacked by fairies when looking for chests and loses all her clothes and runs away to hid in a orc den etc..
Also goes for the few Male Sub types games, probably why Monster Girls and reverse rape games are popular, although still in the minority. Instead of having to do non porn stuff to get to the porn, with the reverse rape, the porn is actually in the stuff to get more porn.

In movie terms, there's no antagonist, nothing to fight against, or lose. Just temporary blocking content. In the second case, it's the rest of the world.
Anyway something to think about. And having said that, it's not as if some of those style games aren't successful.

Can you give more examples with other games? I have played Monster Girl Island (the first version), the quests there are go fishing and collect fruits - is that considered as a porn or you are talking about a newer version?
We only have one quest, so if you provide more examples of implementations, we are going to use these ideas for our future content and improve the game.

This is the biggie afaik that got translated and made a large impact in the English speaking crowd. Maybe started the whole Monster Girl thing over here.

The path to the end is a series of (sexing) combat with Monster girls. So the combat challenge is the porn.

For a side scroller, Iris Action was big. So standard side scrolling combat game, but instead of just regular combat to unlock scenes (which it also does with game over unlocks), the combat itself has porn elements with enemy sexy grappling and clothing removal.

And so many RPG Maker type games are like that.

So the difficulty you had to overcome was part of the porn part of the game. But in both cases they are both always losing in a way (and you see the porn when you lose) which doesn't match up with the 'fuck the girl' type quest. You never lose, you're just delayed by 'stuff'. As the porn stuff is the harder stuff to make it's walled off with busy work to extend playing time. But it has to be good to waste that time getting there, dealing blocking mechanics (find X fruits etc.). Because if both were equally easy to code, why not have your girlfriend be captured by a group of sex starved amazon women that you have to screw to get to her. Then it would be porn all the way through, but no longer a unique reward. If the locked porn is the reward, you make it almost a given the blocking stuff isn't.

As mentioned, not that just good graphics/artist can't work. Like Monster Girl Island, if you can afford the artists, coder etc. Porn can work that way lol. As in most porn movies have zero acting that would never work in a regular movie, but stick big enough tits in there. People will push through that grind.

But be aware if you're doing viking stuff...
Modded skyrim. There are so many sex mods, and I get the full skyrim stuff (100 hours of dungeons, castles, massive outdoor map and quest stuff).

Development 101. Learn from other games, know what you're competing against, figure out what's popular. You can see how similar Monster Girl Island is to Monster Girl Quest.
And yep, didn't say it's easy, was answering the question about what is meant by a 'fuck the girl' game and what you have.

So you're doing a open world viking sex game. Skyrim is an open world viking game. It has massive amount of content, thousands of mods (I have ~100 installed myself) which include sex, prostitution, fetish as well as a ton of gameplay mods to make it as good as your PC allows. On Skyrim quests, you might have to travel across a massive map to find an item, while you can ambushed by bandits, raped, captured, sold as slaves, win and take a slave and sell them, camp out in the wilds, rest at a bar and sleep with a wench etc. Total copies sold to date, 23 million.
The one thing it doesn't have is custom controls on the sex (it mostly chooses from a large selection of created animations), so that might be your biggest advantage.
