Plot
It's the summer of 1996, and Monty Thorton isn't doing too well, infact he lost his soul. After a deadly encounter with cultists, Monty found himself in the cursed city of Azkabar with his ancestor Palados, A 10th century crusader. There job, get back their souls and leave the cursed city before going hollow.

The Lost Crusader and Hero of Azkabar, or atleast that's what Monty knows of his long lost ancestor. And though he is just a stoic and his family stories portrayed him to be,
there seems to be more to the character than what is being led on.

First of all... Jesus Christ those "breasts". Or rather tumors that, i think, should be breasts. Like, please, fix those, i'm going to get nightmares about them. Second thing, if you are going to post something, then please post some demo or h-scene or a little more about your game. Right now it's just "yeah i'm creating something souls-like (somehow)" few pictures and very short explanation of setting. That's not much. How similar it' will be to souls, are h-scenes will be text based or pictures with text, will it be fights oriented or more story based, how important choices are going to be? You know, basic questions. Answering those should help, and, for me, makes project more interesting.

Fair criticisms. I'll try to see what I can do to re-draw the mom and sister characters (As a side note, their designs was based off of popular references found on the forum e.g. Breeding Seasons and Urban Demons, so if there is something unsettling about the designs, could be a proportion thing)

I haven't published a demo yet, mostly because I feel that a demo should be out when it's in a playable state and isn't 90% text based and 10% gameplay, which as of now that's where I'm at. (That and I logically don't have a good place to have the demo end, because by the 2nd in game day it's basically "Do whatever you want!")

I can see where the Souls similarities are non-descriptive so I'll try my best to answer them here.
1. The world is a Metroidvania world where many different sections are connected so if you explore enough in one area you'll find shortcuts and secrets to other parts of the map.
2. Story wise, I'm trying to make the atmosphere of the city of Azkabar like a Souls game, depressing but with alot of backstory behind them if you look deep enough.
3. Combat is JRPG style, but I am trying to replicate the tough combat through having tougher enemies being the lower class ones, but also find ways to balance out the difficulty so it's not punishing.
4. Souls Difficulty is hard to implement in RPG maker game, but I have made a system where you can't save in Azkabar until you reach a shrine (Bonfire if you will) and once you do save all enemies respawn (As of right now in the current build that I made)
5. I want the game to be mostly fight oriented (that's why we play Dark Souls to begin with) so most of the story in the game will be in item description and context clues. That being said there are cut scenes like a traditional RPG that will give more context to the main quest story.

Now for Hentai****
Part of me is actually still wondering if I even want to add hentai to the game or not, part of the reason it isn't advertised a lot, but if it is added, it will be at the very least, picture based, and at most fully animated.


Hopefully that clears some stuff up. I was debating if I should have waited to publish my idea or wait until completion, but some users in the discussions page convinced me to at least let people know it exists. Maybe I'll come at with a demo or an Alpha build soon.

Wait, so you can only save at certain checkpoints, and when you save ALL enemies respawn? I love it I love it I love it.

Eh, I sorta see yer point, but at the same time I'm fairly certain it's a requirement on this forum for at least some naughty fun time to be involved in the game. On the other hand, ye could have it just be a side thing. As in, just a small number of scenes to be made as "reward scenes" at certain points in the game, preferably with a replayability option. Combine that with making the player have to actually work for the scenes, (Dark Souls based, after all, nothing is easy) an' ye have yerself a decent draw up for fitting game porn. If ye do take this advice, though, please make sure the porn is really good so as to avoid something like this...

Blood dripped from his sword, almost as if the blade itself was bleeding. Monty lost count of how many Hollow Ones he's slain now, and yet they keep coming. Perhaps it would never end, he thought. Perhaps this was his punishment for sins he'd committed from a life he barely remembered. Back when he was just a normal lad, with normal problems. Like waiting on the next episode of The Wandering Dead to come out.

A sharp pain in his shoulder snapped Monty out of his reprieve. Grunting, he snapped his fist forward in a heavy punch that threw the Hollow One back, followed up with a swing of his sword to take the things head. Sparing a glance towards his shoulder, he confirmed the damage was superficial. Taking a deep breath, he reminded himself that he had no time for distractions, and moved forward into the onslaught.

The ringing of metal filled the air as swords met. The blade of a Hollow One descended down upon him, twisting to the side, he dodged it by a hair's breath. His own blade took the things legs at the knees. As it dropped, he slammed his boot upon it's head, pivoting on his heel to block yet another attack. Catching the sword in the cross-guard, he grabbed the arm of the creature and pulled it into the way of a particularly savage stab aimed for his side. Bringing his boot up he kicked to two of them back to give himself some breathing room, slight as it was.

He twisted the grip of his blade, arms tense as heavy corded muscles, once weak from sitting in front of his computer all day, easily brought the blade around him in a warding swing. Taking a swig of his estis flask, he once more met the wave of death as it crashed upon him. Boots and blade, fists and bone. They came upon him in from all directions, somehow having gotten behind him, and they fell just as quickly. On and on it went, swing, block, punch, roll. Everything but the fight left his head, even his own name. He was but a sword, a deadly blade, and his thirst could not be quenched no matter how many he slew. And then it was over.

He ripped his weapon free of his latest victim, as the Hollow One turned to dust. Slowly, he remembered why he was there in the first place, a young woman had needed to be saved. Slower still, his name came back to him, and he wondered if one day it didn't. If one day, he would go into battle and his mind never left it. Suppressing a shiver, Monty ran up the steps to the thick wooden door. Pulling out the key he'd ripped from a drake's stomach, Monty unlocked the door and gazed upon the fair maiden within.

She was pretty, with long brown hair. "You saved me, here, let me give you a blowjob!" It felt good. Something something, wet noises. Insert the occasional slurp. End.

Kind of a disappointing end, huh? If ye can do a gem of a scene consistently, great! Yer better then me. If not, consider asking for help if ye make it truly difficult in honor of Dark Souls with just a select few scenes. Anywho, that's all me input for the time being.

I ROFL when I read that! :lol:

Now I have had discussions in the past about this and *Technically* as long as I label it as non-hentai I can post it and moderators have said they would be ok with it...but this is a prequel to a Urban X Life clone I'm making, i feel like THAT is more a requirement for hentai then anything. I guess my goal with this game is that I want you to have a two tissue boxes for playing this game, one for your tears...and you can guess the rest.

Now what I was thinking is that I would have the mom and sister characters (and all possible future characters that might exist in the game) have some boss that is connected to them. Something like: This boss is connected to your mom, the more you corrupt your mother, the easier the boss becomes to beat. Something where sex is a dual wielding gift, not only do you get to wank it for the next 10 minutes, but your work in getting that scene made getting to the end game 5x easier.

Question guys. I know I'm still in development right now, but If I take the 10-ish minutes of game-play I do have and release it into a Alpha Demo- where at times it will be SUPER 4TH WALL BREAKING to tell you where construction is currently, would you want to play it to get a good idea of what the game will be like?

I don't think anyone would have a problem with that so long as ye labeled it as a concept only demo. 10ish minute is pretty weak for even an alpha title lol

Update

So I haven't been working on the project for a bit, but hopefully you'll excuse that when I tell you that my sink exploded two weeks ago. I mean literally exploded, as in Niagara falls was coming out of my sink. I've been sleeping in the upstairs loft as the flooring was pulled out and and bathrooms torn apart. The flooring was finally done yesterday so I have my room back again (despite still having to share one bathroom with my family until the bathrooms are fixed). Luckily my summer semester is coming to a close, so I should be able to work more on this project again soon.

But enough of that, let's get to what I plan to get done soon!
1. The first update should be redoing the artwork for Mom and Sarah. Luckily I've built the bodies in separate layers so redoing the breasts shouldn't be a problem...now redrawing the clothes will be a pain in the ass. But I Imagine that is a day to a day and a half job.

2. I'm building the game into two different phases: Azkabar, and the real world. Since most of the game takes place in Azkabar, I plan on working on updating those sections before anything else. Plan number 1 is to build out the rest of the map. I have a rough Idea of how everything is to be connected but I want to take time to think about how Azkabar works as a world and not just make levels for the sake of levels, So i'll be taking some time to try to write and flesh out the world a bit more than I have now.

3. Once the map is finished for Azkabar, then it's making encounters and balancing difficulty. This is for both the real world and Azkabar. Like I said Azkabar is priority number 1, but the real world is going to be 90% encounters, so interactions with Mom and Sarah would be next after that point.

4. Finishing touches and extra content- As I've said before Azkabar is my main focus, but I'm open for suggestions for any way to make the real world more alive and intresting, so this is the time to make suggestions. I'll even take a survey if you guys have some really good suggestions

That's it for the update. Hopefully I'll get the art update out soon.

Update

Here comes the Art! I realized the biggest oddity to the breasts to Mom and Sarah was how much spills over their tops and defied gravity. I soon realized i didn't even have to redraw the breasts completely, just the tops and toned it down by a ton. Comment below on any further changes if you have any suggestions.

It took a full day, but I have done it! I created the Dark Souls death system in RPG maker. So now when you die, you re-spawn at the last Shrine you visited and you loose all of your Souls and your Experience. You can recover your souls, but if you die again you will loose your ability to recover the last death is gone.

My next plan is to make Expand on the Burg and make some new areas and then update the Demo.

Looks like it's shaping up nicely. One thing I would recommend though, try to make the breasts a lil' bit more rounded. That weird pinch thing ye have going on is just disturbing.

Is it for both mom and Sarah or just Sarah herself? Sarah's was the only one I'm questioning more about the bra pinch.

So I was goofing around and I realize something. Very few games on the forum, or any adult game for that matter, have cheat codes. Even fewer have a cheat code room where you can enter in a cheat code and Your head becomes 3x bigger. I missed those days. So I have made a hidden cheat code room, where you can not only get your regular cheats, like more money and such, but there is also small cosmetic cheats...They don't impact game-play in any way, but who wouldn't like to run around with a giant head? See if you can find it in the next update.

The name "Berg update" is slightly misleading because I did so much more than just the Berg, but it's the most noticeable part of the Update.

Update Log
1. Added 12 New Maps to the Underground ghetto known as the Berg.
2. New NPC in the Berg, Cygon.
3. New Boss Battle in Berg
4. Added Golden Soldier Boss Battle
6. Added 3 New Maps outside of house
7. Added new NPC Kayly
8. Added small side quest to break Mom and Sarah's locks (Ends when locks are broken. Will be expanded upon)
9.Small updates inside house
10. Hidden cheat room. (can you find it? :D )
11. Hidden cheat codes in real world (In random locations you might find a piece of paper with a cheat on it. If you find the cheat room, go try it out
12. Art update
13. Death System
14 Recovered system
15 Enemy re-spawn system

Write on the forum if you spot any bugs or glitches in any of the systems. I had to rewrite the enemy re-spawn script 3 times before I got it right, and even then, I'm more than certain there's some error somewhere.

Awesome, I'll be trying it out when I get the chance. The updated artwork looks better by the by, good job. *thumbs up* Take a break for the next couple days, walk in the park, smell some roses, snatch some kisses (or vice versa). Let yer mind recover for a tad with no worries to avoid the burn out.

Well luckily for me most of the burn out was dealing with the stupid death and re-spawn system. Since those are done, every update from here on should be making maps, events and art, which is much easier then finding ways to make enemies from different maps re-spawn on cue.

BTW here is some clarification for the recent update

1.The Berg goes in a circle The last part of the Berg is the Elevator (Room with switch) but it's not connected to anything. Same with the gate with the Golden Soldier boss.
2. You get the Sewer key when defeating the boss in the berg, but the sewer isn't fully implemented.
3. There's not much to do in the house presently so if you want to skip time just go to the TV or computer. The TV will have more implemented with building relationships in future builds.


Question: Does anyone know how other people do animated scenes on RPG maker? I get it involves using lots of pictures, but how many frames per second for certain speeds? If anyone can find this out, I can possibly have animated scenes in this game.
