Re: Ethos of Darkness: a post-apocaliptic erotic RPG

As a way to organize my thoughts and keep accessible the info about npcs, locations, etc, I've created a wikia for the game.
I don't expect to spend much time updating it, since I rather use my scarce free time updating the game, but I was already starting confused, forgetting names etc, and I think a wiki can be a good way to prevent that.

I had to dig up the old password for my account because this thread was looking so lonely.

I'm really enjoying your game. I'd like to see a bit more polish on the sex interactivity segments. In particular I think that establishing a better turn order might allow for more fluid and varied action descriptions. For instance, right now all the enemy attacks seem to happen at once based on your last known 'state', so in theory you can be made to stand up multiple times. Not that I've seen this happen, that's just the impression I get. If you added a turn order for enemies, not only would descriptions flow better and end up making more sense, turns could end up a lot more varied. Of course you probably know about all this, but I figured I'd start with the criticism. If you haven't, I'd check out "Night Games" by silver bard (I believe). I know it's mainly posted and updated on the Fenoxo forums. It has an excellent strip/position/action battle sex system that might be a good model.

Beyond the roughness and some general instability (I find crashes can occur randomly), the only complaint I have is the lack of content thus far - but that will come with time. Again, I'm absolutely loving what I'm seeing. I think you have a real diamond in the rough on your hands here. Sadly I'm not in a financial position to use patreon, or I'd absolutely pledge.
Does bunny need to slap a bitch?!

Due to my utter inability to produce anything of merit via drawing, animating, or scripting, I have to hang around and bother you guys. Are we having fun yet?

Thanks! The sex sequence does follow a turn order (two npcs won't remove the same pants, for instance), although the system is complex enough that there may still bugs.

Ahh, I see. I haven't seen them remove the same pants, I don't think. It's mostly stuff like the positioning still seeming awkward, but I can see how keeping track of everything and getting the whole mechanism just so in a way that will always make sense would get very complicated very fast.

Which version? Did you check if it's windows firewall blocking it?

I've decided to make a turn in the way the game handles abuse and non-consensual sex.

Right now, if a weak player wanders alone in the steppes, they'll be defeated, mistreated and raped maybe half a dozen times. After that the player will seamlessly continue its way. I find that, besides being completely unrealistic, this cheapens the scene and removes any possible tension that there may be before such events. It feels spammy.

I've decided to make random sexual encounters less frequent and add persisting consequences after them. After defeat and depending on the opponent, the player might be subjected to slavery, theft and trauma. It maybe forced to wander naked and beg for refuge, with only her/his body to offer.

I've added a poll on my Patreon page. Please comment if there's some other permanent consequences you'd like to see implemented.
