[RPG Maker] The Dark Lord's Trip

Hello. Here is the game i'm developing nowadays. Just finished a showcase build.

The story:
Hades finds himself in an unkown location after being turned into a human with an intensified lust for girls.
Now he has to find the mysterious sorcerer who did this to him to get his divine powers back.
Searching, fighting and fucking his way to his goal.

Features:
  • Various characters from cartoons;
  • Original drawings;
  • Complex animation in battle system;
  • Re-aganged (from default RPG Maker) HUD mechanics;
  • Parallaxed maps;
  • etc...

Controls:
The game is desined to use a mouse! The keyboard controls is still there, but some areas are easier to pass by using the mouse.
You can run by holding Shift. You can skip text and speed up battles by holding an action button.

It's strange that this game passed by our forum without so much as a simple reply... :?

Well, I'm bumping it because even if it is so short for a demo (more a teaser really), the quality is so good that I consider it a crime that it has no more than 200 views and not a single "Hey, good job! Keep up with that!"

If you know about 'Witch Trainer' and 'Princess Trainer' from Akabur, then this should pike your interest for sure. That Logan guy loves his craft, I tell you. Hell, he went to the extreme of get by without the built in RPGMaker standard tileset for a single room and making his own background curvy tileset. It's f**king beautiful! Do you think those screenshots were made with the lousy RPGMaker engine? Think again! ;)

And yes, this is shameless advertising on my part, but only because I think this could be a great game, so wake up and take a look dammit!! :lol:

I will add my recommendation. I downloaded shortly after it became available, and played through end of content fairly quickly. Lasting impression - yes, art is very Akabur. But the maps and sprites are very well done. Overall the environment is gorgeous. Writing is quite good, and story is looking like it will be a fun ride. And - for me a big play - it is OS X compatible. I have very few of those, and like this option.
Looking forward to more

As the other comments put it, i'm surprised there's been so little buzz about this game. I know the concept is nothing new but the game play itself is pretty unique and i love the look and feel of the combat system. I can't wait to see how the game develops and i'm sure this is one of the several games i'll be following through development.

So, i could be wrong on this one, but from what i've gathered, it seems like the dev wanted to make his game fit into the world of Akabur's Princess/Witch Trainer games using a parallel world as the story as to not interfere, but still implying events from those (kinda like how in Witch Trainer, Agrabah was occasionally mentioned as well as things from Princess Trainer.)
I think Akabur found out about the game somewhere along the development and got in contact and (i think) gave his blessing for the project using his ideas and so the genie shows up to help establish the connection of this game to the universe of the other games.

If anyone knows something i'm wrong about here, please feel free to correct me, as i'm not entirely sure on this, think i read it on part of the blog, or maybe somewhere else.

You'r not wrong - reading through both the Patreon and the blog it's an integration into the Akabur universe. I am really looking forward to Lola joining the party!

Ahh that clears up quite a bit of my question as to why akabur's genie is there and after downloading and playing the teaser(not long enough in my eyes to be a "demo"), I will be closely watching this game. It is good, don't get me wrong but I'll be on the fence though, depending on whether or not this game lives up to the potential is another whole ballgame.

I tried it also and enjoyed it so far, but I'm guessing other than getting Rapunzel to bare her chest, and kill the bandits there is nothing else to do in the game right now?
If so that's alright, cause that makes me want to keep track to see what else happens

The last thing I was able to do was reject Rapunzel (briefly I hope), get rejected by a nymph (again hoping this isn't permanent), free a cute little bunny, and fight off a couple of bandits. As of this point is that it for the current build or am I missing something? Not complaining just curious.

Anyway, just finished the Build 2016-09-8.

Build 2016-09-08 after beta testing fixes/impovements:
– The top of Lola’s and Merlin’s dialogue busts doesn’t cuts off when the choices appears;
– When you letting go the rabbit, you no longer have to wait till he runs off the screen;
– Fixed incorrect displaying of equipment: Equipment items are now displayed in a line, instead of a column;
– Added a button to remove an equipped item on the equipment screen.
– Some minor improvements in inventory’s code to avoid unexpected bugs;
– Rapunzel leaving the tower when you went too far;
– Guards are leaving the woods when you dispelling the Rider’s face.
– Lola stops repeating her line, after you spoke with Merlin.
Build 2016-09-1, 2016-09-08 summary:

– Added 11 new maps:

Fixes:
– One of the vitals plugins has been updated, fixing the rare bug that caused disabling of savings.
Changes / Improvements:
– New dialogue bust for Hades during the dialogue with Rapunzel;
– New replics for Hades during battles;
– New sound for using items in inventory.
Other Tweaks:
– If Hades was spotted, time of response from guards is now shorter;
– One of the thicket’s stashes is more easy to spot;
– Some other minor tweaks…
