Good shit, pretty much, though I didn't like the story in the ending or much of anything else in the ending very much at all.
Game's
often hilarious, the porn-pictures were usually neat, and the dialogue was very occasionally pretty hot.
The robed cat post-credits in particular was pretty great too.
Still, you're going to need to smash some more bugs before you can really call this a finished product, so whenever you want, you can have a look at the list below.
Many of these were reported by others - and in more detail, too - but though this list is non-exhaustive, it should still serve to gather some bugs in one place.
1. Bash appears to be stronger than Thrash.
...And is Firestorm stronger than Inferno?
I'm not certain, but the skills and spells could probably bear double-checking.
2. When you click "shift" for information on a highlighted enemy - eg a dog - you get information on another enemy - eg village boy.
It doesn't happen all the time.
But it's also not isolated to just the dog and the village boy.
And the weakness display seems only sometimes to work - eg Gold Angels are weak to lightning, but nothing says that.
Tied to that, enemies that seem like they should be immune to things often aren't - I routinely burn fire elementals, for example.
And I mean, some things seem to have resistances to things they shouldn't.
Since when was dog-hide resistant against physical and magical attacks, anyway?
3. If you buy the repairs order after beating chapter 1, you don't actually gain access to the living quarters etc*.
And you get the chapter one beaten screen again when you re-enter your repaired throne room for the first time.
*Oh, I see, the issue has always just been the naming and description of the orders.
Private quarters order gives you access to your quarters AND the slave quarters.
The "repairs" and "private quarters" orders should probably just have been melded into one repair order or something.
Or at least the description of the private quarters order should have specified that it gives you access to the slave quarters
as well.
The incomplete description on that has gotten me ALMOST EVERY FUCKING TIME; I should REALLY have mentioned it before now.
I mean, it's possible that there's some way to get into the slave quarters while the tower's destroyed; I vaguely remember such
a thing, but then the private quarters order should specify that IT and nothing else repairs the stairs that LEAD to the slave
quarters, so there's still a problem. (Really could just merge them so that "repair" actually repairs everything though.)
4. Beating the Bandit Camp arena after the first time still takes you to your home's barracks arena.
5. Nanshe's lightning skill progression is anomalous. The 30MP spell for the other elements hits all targets. Lightning's doesn't.
(Bilibine and her death eggs might explain why this was done, if it is in fact intentional, but still.)
6. When you leave Beerenburg to the right, after beating the volcano, you go walking off the map to the right and end up back in the
seafaring ship.
7. Bilibine restores her counter-shield at the beginning of the round, not the end, so if you've queued up attacks on her you can
eat multiple full counter-attacks. That shit's retarded.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
(Not a bug but I actually preferred Bilibine as not-a-robot, and her repeatable scene being a joke is a disappointment.)
8. Tower Assault features priests and holy warriors who are hilariously immune to their own healing. (Also apparently to Nanshe's
Netherworld, but still. As to me having Netherworld at that point, I decided to grind the hell up in the arena because I wasn't
interested in the combat part of the game anyway and because I was NOT losing to Branda; it worked well enough.)
9. The magical items from the overforge do not function as reported and are missing icons etc.
10. Abilities appear in the wrong places and use the wrong resources (eg special abilities using Mana, in the case of Nanshe) etc.
11. Abilities have the wrong names when you cast them; Healing Surge is called "heal all" and "Magic Storm" is called "Netherworld"
etc.
12. Yo the entire last portion of the game seems to be pretty rushed.
I mean, I don't like the story of that bit much at all, so that sullies my appreciation of the overall product.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
Two souls out of nowhere, heel-face turn out of nowhere,(yeah some foreshadowing was there but I'm really just not into the plot-twist at all) cliche
"overwhelmingly powerful duder inexplicably failing to FUCKING FINISH YOU OFF" out of nowhere, Artifact that can imprison souls out of nowhere, beating a creature
who has extracted your heart (although you have no organs just energy or something) out of nowhere, souls in artifact don't get set free when artifact is destroyed but rather they perma-soul-die out of nowhere, etc etc.
Fucking whatever.
But story has nothing to do with the level-design being poor, man.
You can get trapped inescapably in the fire-room if you don't hit the switches before you go to the top area; that's a run-ender.
I'd read about it so I had a backup save, but really?
Yooooooooo.
Seems like the switches can be hit multiple times as well, possibly, but don't quote me on that one.
I'd double-check, but with the fuckin' annoying hurty-floors that waste your time and potions I don't want ANYTHING to do with that area ever again.
Speaking of which, those floor areas might look the same as the ordinary floor spaces as well, which is a bit of a problem if so, but again I'm not double-checking.
And the tower's an entire place that can become utterly unwinnable if you don't buy enough items etc before you go in, with no way
to recover if you save-bork your game?
YOOOOOOOOO.
Story can be whatever the fuck you want, make it make sense or not, writing whatever you fucking like is always up to you.
I'm here for the porn so I don't overwhelmingly care anyway.
But this vidyagame is gonna need at
least one more bug-crushing and design-tweaking revision before it's a solid finished product.
13. Rubati's Cleanse targets enemies. So does her "Purge impurity". Again, just check all the skills and specials in general I guess.
(Oh, and you can waste mana on Ice-bitch's 500 icicles when you're out of battle. Can't be fucked to look up her name, but Illumilululuminatar or whoever.)
14. "Get it together" doesn't seem to shake off purity-angel's Charm or Joy's silence.
15. "Milky mind" heals HP, which is nice, but it doesn't seem to status-cure cure jack shit.
(And Yeah, as said, the cat scene made me pretty happy again.)
