its not my timing on the jump controls.

even when im not trying to make the ledge jumps, sometimes you press up and nothing happens. but only if your moving forwards at the same time.

as for the customizable controls, there was a post about being able to crouch, but not having the animation done yet, and i could have sworn someone said you could shoot, but it wasnt working for me, a bunch of us had that problem with a diffrent game, (turned out to be a laptop problem, something about the keyboards not accepting the input or something) if the reason it doesnt fire downwards is because you havnt finished that yet then customizable controls are not needed...

glad to hear you already fixed everything else i could think of.

The jumping thing you said about, was because as I said, I wanted to make the jumping realistic, therefore pressing jump without holding a movement key first makes you jump higher, but you don't move left or right. And you can't start moving once you're already in a jump, I don't know anyone who can do that in real life.

Nobody else seems to have trouble with the jumping, so there's not much I can do. If other people start to complain about it then I'll work out another way, but I'm not going to make it so that you can jump 5 feet in the air.

Edit: Response to Reaper

1) I won't be introducing invulnerability cheats, it's not that difficult.
2) I must've fixed it now, because I swore that I fixed it before, and I can't replicate that bug now. I do remember having it before though, so I must have fixed it.

Z-Field, if you need some help with voices I'd be glad to assist. Still can't pm though.

Game version ResiGame04082011Still can't PM which is making me break this whole multi-post rule. And also, can you tell me what the game priority setting does?

A bug I noticed is that you can still fire while reloading.

I like this game and where it's heading, keep up the good work.

Well I can do any role except for females, so give me an idea of what you want and i'll do my best. Your voicing isn't that bad but like everything in the world it could always be better. Sorry about the delay but Football practice is hell recently. Let me know if you still want me.

Definitely shows great promise.
Haha, as far as the whole jump debate goes, I think it's kind of a game design vs. realism thing; having some degree midair control over your jump (a la Super Mario Bros.) can be easier and overall less frustrating for the player, but at the same time, it's far from realistic I suppose, as I don't know anyone who can change directions in midair either--and if there is such a person, good for them. I don't particularly feel that jumping is all that important in a Resident Evil based game, as the originals don't even have it, but seemed to be a necessary evil thanks to the doggies. If I had to choose, a crouch button would be fine.

okay, responses (now that I'm back)

reaper: well, it's fixed in this new version if it wasn't before.
The game priority setting basically sets how much of the computers resources will be dedicated to the game. It's something that is more used for old/less reliable computers, or those that are running lots of programs and experience in-game latency.

tuditanus: that's fixed now. Thanks for letting me know.

zephyr: I'll PM you again. And yeah, I know my voicing isn't the most brilliant, and I'm quite a perfectionist, which is why I'm not fully happy with it.

Progress:

I'd suggest you check out the blog for any updates. I'll only be posting what has been done on the actual game updates here.

Wow, I'm impressed that there's an entire 6 person team working on this. That gives me a lot of confidence in the next update.

Also first boss too hard for me on normal. ^^ Honestly, the game I realized is a lot harder when well, your hard. And basically I like a challenge and pleasure. This game goes a lot on the too much challenge category. The first boss is worse than ninja gaiden on the xbox which I loved.

I guess I am biased since I am helping make the game, and that I tend to be naturally apt at video games, however I would like to say reaper, it could always be as hard as the original ninja gaidens, or hell teenage mutant ninja turtles on the nintendo =P.

So your saying just because, its not as hard as really old games. That dignifies this fap and play game being this hard?

The main complaint I have is that the zombies don't always try to remove armor and fuck her. They do that scratch that takes away health. I propose to you, to get rid of the damaging scratch crap, and just make it wear any other attack other than them fucking you. Does only damage to your armor. Other wise, you should not take damage unless they manage to have rape.

POSSIBLE: Make damage from sex only happen if they zombie finishes.

Reaper, maybe this isn't entirely a fap and play game. It might be that it's supposed to be a game that has merits to it other than pornography, even thought that is unheard of. I support that there are games here with compelling gameplay unrelated to sex, and I would hope for games with sexual content to at some point become mainstream. I think that there's always going to be a game made for fapping, but that not all games should be made like that.

UPDATE! (25th August, see changelog for details)

I didn't get round to finishing the new area, so there's a couple of doors in the B2 area that don't open.

Also, the current Rebecca running sprite is not the final one, it's going to be re-done again from scratch.

Also, Catgirls voice clips are going to be done again in better quality. Still fappable in my ears though :P (couldn't really say my eyes for sound)

For difficulty, I honestly don't think it's that difficult, I think it's the fact you don't know when you're crouching makes it more difficult.

can't wait to play the new version, but if I may say on the difficulty, last version around I could dodge and fight fine but I could never find any ammo, so by the time I got around to the boss I was down to just my knife, not sure if that just means I was unlucky to not have any ammo dropped or I shoulda resorted to the knife earlier to save ammo or what, but I know I wasn't firing bullets off into the ceiling and wasting them

If that's what people meant by difficulty, then yes, if you're playing on the hardest difficulty, you're expected to use your knife or just run more than if you're playing on normal... a good technique that I and I'm sure a lot of other resident evil players use is to knock them down then run. There are no ammo/herb drops in the main game, just like the original resident evils. However, I can agree that at the moment the difficulty is ramped up a little high in regards to ammo, so there will be more ammo available later. Considering the size of this first chapter though, I don't think it's too much of an issue, and I'm thinking about whether to introduce the shotgun before the first boss or near the start of chapter 2.
