Hi people,

I'm planning to release an animation teaser this Holy Week... the week before Easter. Yeah, I have that instead here... Spain's Different(tm) :roll:

It will be something VERY simple to show some toons actually moving around, nothing more. No dialogues, no progression, no game mechanics. Only some animations so you guys/gals can take a look at their current state, which is far from perfect if I may say so.

Anyway, I wanted to do this for some time due to the great support you're giving us, but I really needed to finish rigging the models. Now that task is almost finished, so I'll make an effort this week to deliver it before next Saturday.

Hi people,

As promised, here's the teaser I've been able to put together these holidays...:

As I mentioned before do not expect any playability. This is merely a tech demo for all who want to check on how the animations look like at my current amateurish skills with Spine (subjected to improve). Also, don't expect the same game systems (UI, movement, etc) in the final game, as I make heavy use of Unity assets whereas Spartacus is a professional dev and writes all of his code by hand.

You'll see a little problem with Krys 'breakdancing' before coming to a full stop. It's related to an open issue with Spine-Unity runtimes. Nevertheless, I don't think that will stay in the final demo because Spartacus understands the problem better than me and I don't remember this issue in his development build.

Other than that, there's also a blatant lack of variety in animations, specially with the female lizards which only have two at the moment. Krys has more although I didn't put there all I have. That's to be expected as the next stage in my work schedule is to add more, now that I have the models relatively well rigged.

Anyway, I hope you like it. This little thingy has a ridiculous amount of work behind it, though I expect to go a little faster from now on. Anyway, if you have any feedback, please don't hesitate to give me flak, because if something looks bad it'll be my fault entirely being Kuja the talented artist he is. :P

looks great, runs real smooth. I appreciate the little details like the tongues being separate and moving on there own instead of being drawn on as part of the face and static.

I noticed a few different faces for krystal, do they change as the game progresses and she gets more, corrupted or whatever you want to call it, or is it just random which face she has during sex?

One suggestion I have is make some of the sex going on in the back at different paces, slow is fine but if they are all at the same speed it gets kind of boring (IMO)

Anyway, Im really looking forward to this

Are you planning on making the game somewhat challenging? Like platformer/fighting? Would be interesting.

No, but seriously, it's bloody fantastic! Everything from backgrounds to animations is great. The expressions are what I was most curious about, and they're more than what I have hoped for.

There's just one thing that's been seriously fucking with my mind, so I gotta ask: Is the game 2D or 3D? Because everything's 2D in theory, but I could swear that 'dis booty be 3D! I'm pretty sure there's some black magic at work here.

First of all, a big thank you for all the praise. That sure makes me more happy and hopeful about this whole "let's do a game" thing. :lol:

Mmm... neither actually. :D

She will start with her 'default' face, yes, but as she gets more excited the more 'ahegao' her expression will be. This is of particular interest in the first chapter, as the Lust Demoness will cover the village with her pheromones and K's 'lust bar' will fill up more or less quickly according with her own level.

So in short, she will not change faces according with her level of 'sexperience'/corruption/etc, but she will if she's dripping her juices all over the place. :roll:

Moreover, each expression is a static animation that can be mixed/blended with the main one playing, so we have full flexibility about which face each character put on at any time, anywhere. E.g.: Krys could laugh her lungs out while being anally raped by a two-foot dick, with a single line of code.

Yup, I agree with you. However, it must be noted that to do that the right way you need to make separate animations. If you simply quicken the playing speed... well, it doesn't look bad up to a point (70% - 130% of the original speed), but things with secondary motion (hair, boobs, clothes) doesn't look right if you double or half the speed directly. In fact, you may have observed that all characters in the teaser vary their speed by little increments/decrements every 3-4 seconds. It's subtle, but it contributes to them looking less robotic, although is not enough.

That said, I definitely need to experiment at animating a more energetic movement, like when you go berserk with your girlfriend/wife's ass in doggy, if you know what I mean... :twisted: But I'm almost sure I won't do that before we launch the first demo due to time constraints.

Nope. I'm with you that maybe some combat mechanic would be cool in some instances, but we'll stay clear from those for the time being, mostly due to (again) the initial scope of the project. This will be more like an adventure game, although most of the 'items' Krys will be using will not be, ahem... inanimate. :roll:

Anyway, Spartacus is the coder here and he has the final word on how much he wants to fuck up his real life. For me and Kuja it's not hard to implement combat mechanics being our only work to draw weapons and making more animations, but putting together collision logic and controls is a total different thing. In my case I'd look for a plugin at the Asset Store, but I'm sure he would code all of that by himself, just because. :P

Hehe ok, I'll take care of that. You're not the only people that mentioned it and if I'm to be honest I'm also not really satisfied by the whole effect.

Thing is, the idle animations were the first ones I made some months ago and I was a little more clueless then than now. So yeah, it needs some serious readjustment. Thank you for your honesty! ;)

Yeah, that magic it's called 'FFD' aka 'Free Form Deformation'. It's an advanced feature that comes with the "pro" versions of any serious animation software. Sounds fancy, huh? But their inner workings are not really very complex...: you mesh an image with strategically positioned vertices (that leg/butt let's say), and then move them around, on every key frame, as your own understanding of human anatomy tells you. Like this...

Krys' walk animation was the one which most time and love I've spent on, for sure. But if you really want to see an impressive example of that 'fake 3D' effect at its best, check out this video.

Those boobs were the second most important reason because I decided to buy Spine Pro. :mrgreen:

I honestly can't wait! Most side scrolling (even professional) games don't get this level of polish. If the story is anywhere near as good as the animation this is going to be one epic game. :D

Her boobs kind of look like they're trying to climb up her chest. I put my finger over her tits to get a good look, and the boundary line between the white and blue doesn't change angle, I think it should swing upward slightly. I used this reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ph9tlaUSfo . I think her left arm shouldn't move as far forward on inhale, it makes her look like she's twisting at the waist or the white should extend to cover her left arm more, as her elbows aren't moving to swing her arms out in a sort of chicken wing motion that would cause her shoulder to take up more room. :edit: I just realized her breasts only move up and down during her breathing, they should have a slight forward motion as her rib cage expands. :/edit:

Also, I think her left boob is a bit too far forward, it looks like her boobs are at a slightly different angle as the rest of her body. It looks to me like her head is perpendicular to the 4th wall, her body is about 10-15 degrees off from center, and her chest is about 30 degrees. Her nipples aren't at the same height, but her shoulders and elbows are, so she's not 'tilted' toward the camera. :edit 2: Image

I think her chest would be centered at this 'stomach line' position, but they need to move in relation to each other when she walks so that her chest is rotating with her hips. :/edit 2:

That said, your line work and shading are gorgeous, you're a fantastic animator.
